Abstract

This study aimed to know the management of school academic supervision activity that conducted by principal in the state primary school Pongangan, Gunungpati, Semarang area that included the planning, implementation, and the follow-up to increacse teachers’ performace. This research was conducted with qualitative descriptive method. The collecting data used interview, observation, and documentation. Research results revealed that (1) the planning of academic supervision by the principal at SDN Pongangan rated very good. (2) the implementation of academic supervision in SDN Pongangan a great fit the program, the schedule, the instruments that used according to the design, aspects that disupervisi votes had been lead on target academic supervision adapted to the needs of teachers and schools, the approach was with the program, academic supervision techniques used varied enough, the academic supervision of implementation constraints by the head of the school is the limited time; (3) the principal efforts made in the follow-up assessed academic supervision has been very good and hard-wired. Activities performed were: a) the beginning of each semester were held in groups/joint supervision of teachers meeting school/KKG school; b) performs the inverse to the teacher in order to reflect ourselves; c) implementing guidance on drafting/administration/creation of learning; d) emphasize on teachers that always paid attention to the discipline of work in carrying out the task of teaching as a teacher; e) provided guidance for teachers on how to teach in interesting and fun way; f) conducted coaching and guidance for teachers in the use of learning media, techniques/methods of teaching; g) provide a learning device formats that are new to the teacher, and taught how to fill them; g) For School Superintendent gave a complete written report in the end of years.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate 1) whether the PAKEM plan carried out as a fulfillment of the standardized goal-oriented learning plan. 2) The performance of PAKEM learning carried out looking into whether it is in accordance with the goal-oriented plans. 3)The outputs of PAKEM learning, measured by the achievement of the learning objectives. The research conducted here has applied an evaluative approach using both quantitative and qualitative methodology. This research was conducted in SMPN 2 Boja Kendal regency. The respondents assigned to the research were principal, 20 classroom teachers of IX grade and 30 students of class IX C. The data collection techniques used observation, documentation study and interview. The quantitative data analysis was conducted to gain the results of the data of observation and of studying the documents, whereas the qualitative data analysis was carried out to examine the results of the interviews. The research showed that (1) the PAKEM learning plan carried out had fulfilled the standardized goal-oriented learning plan. Nevertheless, the teachers’ competence in selecting and making use of teaching media needs improving. Teachers as individuals or with the support of school may do this either. (2) The performance of PAKEM learning carried out has been done well in accordance with the goal-oriented plan because all the teachers have achieved good grades of teaching performance. However, to enhance their teaching performance, it is necessary for the teachers to improve their competence in making use of the available learning and teaching sources, teaching media and in assessing the students learning. (3) The outputs of PAKEM learning have been able to measure the goal achievement of learning. This has been proven by the fact that a lot of students have passed most of the school subjects (8 subjects) achieving grades higher than the minimum grades required to pass them. Referring to the minimum grade required to pass the subjects, only a few students have not passed 4 of them. Nevertheless, school needs to gradually raise the minimum passing grade in order to be equal to the national one.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the design, installation, process and product implementation SDSN program at SDN 1 Ngadirejo Temanggung. This study is evaluative, by using a mixed methods Discrepancy models. The data collecting technique used interview, questionnaires, study documentation, and observation. The validity of the data was done by using triangulation. The results of the study were (a) the design stage in accordance with the guidelines organizing school national standards, (b) the installation phase there was a shortage of space (c) phase of the process has not been implemented to the maximum, competency standards there was a gap in the medium category that has not been able to achieve in the level district or higher. Content standards had gaps with low category, the ownership of the curriculum document by 80%. Standard processes had gaps with low category that teachers rarely did ICT-based learning. Standard teachers and education personnel had gaps medium category that educators were still many of internship teachers(Guru Wiyata Bhakti). Standard facilities and infrastructure has a gap with category-less school grounds and space for PBM. Management standards had gaps lower categories, namely activities carried out 70-89% of new schools, school community involvement in decision making policy and school programs of up to 70-80%. Standard finance was still a gap with the low category for schools to implement the program required additional costs of the public. Assessment standards had gaps with low category because of the level of student learning outcomes documentation was only implemented by 75-90%. (d) Product implementation of programs already met the standard mastery learning is at least 95% and 90% of graduates go on to a higher school. The standards have not been met is the UN values above the regional average and have achievements in regional, national and international.

Abstract

Suprih Danurwati, 942013161. Implementation of supervision class visiting to increase teacher’s performance of SD Negeri 2 Kalimanggis District of Kaloran. Thesis. The graduatiton Program Master of Management Education Satya Wacana Christian University Salatiga. Supervisor Prof. Dr. Slameto, M.Pd. This study is to determine that through the implementation of supervision class visiting can improve the performance of teachers in the learning management. The subjects of this study are teachers in SD Negeri 2 Kalimanggis, Kaloran, Temanggung.  The procedure used in this study consists of a series of three main activities undertaken in a repeating cycle, including (a) plan, (b) action by observation, and (c) reflection. research approach using action research methods, while the method of data collection using the study documentation, observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed an increasing in the ability of teachers to prepare lesson plans and manage the learning of the first act, second, until the third act. The inference that supervision class visiting that can improve the performance of teachers in the learning management. Suggestions given to teachers, is taking  advantage of supervision activities as a source of information to improve the competence and performance, for principals use the results of this study as a reference in conducting research, while for school superintendent will use the results of this study as one of the references in activity guidance to the heads of schools and teachers to improve their performance.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the alleged causality between the dependent and independent variables. This study is a descriptive research using survey method. Datan collected by using questionnaire and analyzed using path analysis to test the hypothesis. Engineering analysis will be determined by SPSS data analysis program. The result of the study were; 1) Leadership style has a significant relationship with the performance of officials local government in Gorontalo city. It is seen in the calculation of the product r correlation counted is 0.811 at the significance level (0.05), r table at 0,239 then count r > r of the table so that we can conclude the existence of a significant relationship, while the relationship is based on arithmetic interval coefficient criteria r is 0.811, which means relatively strong relationship with the leadership style of performance in local government apparatus city Gorontalo relatively strong. While t is 0.957 and compared t table with a significance level of 0.044 (0.05) turns out t count> t table with the sense of the hypothesis is accepted which stated the existence of a significant relationship. 2) Organizational Culture has a significant relationship performance in local government apparatus city Gorontalo, it can be seen that the calculation of the product correlation r counted is 0.922 at the significance level (0.05)r price table is 0.098 then the count r > r table. It conclude the existence of a significant relationship, while the relationship is based on interval arithmetic coefficient criteria r is 0.922, which means has relatively strong relationship with the organizational culture apparatus as very strong performance. While t is 0.957 and compared t table with a significance level of 0.044 (0.05) turns out t > t table. It means the hypothesis is accepted which states the existence of a very significant. 3) Relationship between Leadership Style and organizational culture have significant performance relationship in local government of Gorontalo apparatus city. It is seen in the strength of mastery skills and cultural organization along with the performance of the apparatus, comparing the r counting with r table it is known that 0.811 > 0.239, the correlation both have strong significant relationship.

Abstract

This study is an experimental research with using pretest and posttest control group design. The aimed of the study were: 1). To know the differences significant of teacher’s mastery of pedagogical competences between teachers clinical supervised in SMA Kristen YPKPM Ammbon and non-supervised teachers in SMA Kartika XIII-I Ambon, 2). To determine how the the clinical supervision influenced the teachers’ mastery of pedagogical competences. The data was collected by using observation toward teaching profile competence from Wasserman and Egert. Data analyzed using t test comparative and linear regression analysis. The result of the study was the coefficient t test was 4,184 with significant 0,001 < 0,05. It proved that there was a difference between supervision and non-supervision teachers significantly. The clinical supervision has influence about 41,9% on teachers pedagogical competences.

Abstract

This is a Quasi Experimental research which aimed to know the effectiveness of implementing Project Based Learning (PBL) with assistance of Web 2.0 tools and Deming Cycle towards the learning achievement in Mathematics Problem Soving Course of undergraduate students in Primary School Teacher Education Program in Satya Wacana Christian Univerisity (PGSD, UKSW). This research included 52 students which were devided into two classes consist of 26 students. In the experimental group, the treatment were given by implementing a PBL with Web 2.0 tools and Deming Cycle whereas in control group, PBL was implemented but without the use of Web 2.0 tools and Deming Cycle. The T-Test anylisis showed that the experimental group had the significant increasing of learning achievement compare to the control group. As the result, in the third term of 2013/2014 accademic year, it is effective to improve students learning achievement in Mathematics Problem Solving Course by implementing PBL with the assistance of Web 2.0 tools and Deming Cylce.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the implementation and impact of Hidden Curriculum, as well as the determinant factors of success and sustainability in SMPN 2 Boja Kendal. This study was an evaluative research using qualitative approach. The data collected by using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analyzed by collecting and selecting to be deduce. Validity used triangulation data that combined the result of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study were: 1) The activities of hidden curriculum development at SMPN 2 Boja Kendal, namely: flag ceremony, school environmental management, establishing and enforcing discipline, special religious worship, smiles, greetings and courtesies, exemplary, relationship among students and principal, teachers, and staff, school canteen services. 2) The impact of the hidden curriculum development was the changing of school community’s behavior being better, created clean and beautiful school environment, the improvement of public trust to the school toward their kids’ education. Development of the hidden curriculum could establish students good character and an optimal achievement as well as a good school culture. 3) Internal supporting factors including: qualified human resources, the availability of school facilities, school environment was clean and beautiful. External supporting factors occur in the form of endorsement of the parents, school committees and communities in establishing good and virtuous character for the students.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the enthusiasm of the teachers at SMPN 2 Gedangsari, Gunung kidul in the program of Education and Training (Dik-lat) for pedagogic competence development, organized by the Education Foundation of Astra-Michael D. Ruslim (which is running a program of Corporate Social Responsibility in the field of education in the middleschool. In addition, this study also aimed to find the determinant factor for the enthusiasm of the teachers. This research applied mixed method. The results showed enthusiasm in participating in teacher training pedagogical competence development was quite high. In quantitative terms, the level of enthusiasm of teachers was worth on average 3.8 with H was rejected (teacher enthusiasm was high). In addition, there were several determinants affecting the enthusiasm of teachers, namely, the intensity of individual meetings (b value = 0.633), while the suitability of the teacher trainers approach did not affect the enthusiasm (b value = 0.364). Thus, the trainer advised to frequently meet with the teacher so that the enthusiasm of teachers increased, and dik-lat program targets could be achieved well. 0

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the root cause of ineffectiveness at classroom management which is applied by teachers as well as to propose solution to overcome ineffectiveness at elementary school’s classroom management. The data collection technique used in this research is focused group discussions and observations in the classrooms. The analysis technique used is Fishbone analysis or Ishikawa diagram. The results of this study shows that there are six roots of ineffectiveness problem at classroom management, namely: 1) teachers did not focus on students individually but to the curriculum only; 2) the existence of dissability students have different learning pace compared to others; 3) there was no demanding from principal about fun learning implementation in classroom; 4) teachers luck of knowledge about classroom management; 5) teachers lack to provide interpersonal relationship with students; 6) teachers had low trust about students ability to disciplined and organized themselves. The proposed solutions formulated together are such as teachers review the lesson plans and the daily teaching journal, teachers implement the system of reward and punishment as well as peer-teaching method to students, and principals require fun learning and supervise teachers in the classrooms.
