Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has great case of natural disasters. One of disasters that recentlyoccurred are the volcanic eruptions. Based on the interview with volunteer of kelud anchor in December2015, there were communities that were less understand about disaster risk reduction efforts of thevolcano. The purpose of the research was the efforts of disaster risk reduction (Mitigation) eruption ofKelud Mountain by the society in the area of Disaster-prone Areas (KRB) III Blitar Regency. Thisresearch used descriptive research design. The population of the research was all members of thecommunity who live in area III KRB Kelud in Modangan. The sample was 60 people taken by quotasampling. The data collection was done by providing a closed-ended questionnaire multiple choicequestions. Time data retrieval performed on 15-20 March 2016. The results showed that the public hadthe ability to either IE of 50% (30 people), enogh ability as 15% (10 people) and had less abilities i.e.as 35% (20 people). It was affected by the dissemination of prevention and disaster risk reduction.Recomendation for stakeholder of Modangan and Karangrejo village was to do socialitation in everyor when there was sign of Kelud mountain activity.

Abstract

Disaster risk reduction is a concept and practice of reducing disaster risk through systematicefforts to analyze and manage disaster factors. The research objective was to describe the knowledge ofstudents in campus D III Nursing Blitar on disaster risk reduction. This research method used descriptivedesign. The population of this study were all students at Campus D III Nursing Blitar as much as 290students. The sample in this study were all students of level 1 as much as 91 students. The samplingtechnique used quota sampling. The data collection was done by questionnaire. The data collected onMay 12, 2015. The results showed 85.7% (78 respondents) had a good knowledge and 14.3% (13respondents) had fair knowledge. The recomendation of this study was institution had to conduct anevaluation and educational policy in programming related to disaster risk reduction and disastermanagement, as well as students were given the opportunity to develop skills and experience in disasterresponse both within the institution and outside the institution.

Abstract

In a child’s life there are two processes that continue operating in growth and development,this process takes place interdependency which depend on each other.Experts say infant is a goldenperiod, especially the age of 0-2 years old to reach 80% of the brain development. Lack affection ofmother-first year of life have a negative impact on the upbringing of children. The purpose of this studywas to determine the picture of the development-growing children under 2 years old who have workingmothers or not working at the Village Bendogerit Sananwetan District of Blitar. Method :This study wasa descriptive study. The samples were taken with quota sampling technique using pre-screening questionnaireinstrument development and anthropometric assessment. Result : From the research, thegrowth of children under 2 years old with the mother does not work 100% had appropriate growth andgrowth of children under 2 years old 93.75% of working mothers have the appropriate growth. Whilethe development of the child under 2 years old with the mother does not work 93.75% had appropriategrowth and development of children under 2 years old 87.5% of working mothers have the appropriatedevelopment. Discussion: Thus, the conclusion drawn growing up baduta in Village Bendogerit ,Sananwetan District of Blitar with the mother did not work better than the development of the childbaduta with working mothers. In accordance with the conclusions that had been raised, researchersgave suggestions to further research to better focus on the factors that affect growth and development inthe mother works, as well as advice for the child’s mother always bring KMS and always filled byofficers.

Abstract

Indonesia has entered an era where the population structure is elderly and estimated that in2020 the number of elderly reach 28.8 million (11.34%) peoples with a life expectancy of 71.1 years old.As people getting old, aging and physical changes are unavoidable. This changes can lead to mentaldisorders. Depression is one of the many common mental disorders in the elderly due to aging. Based ondata in Canada, 5-10% of elderly living in the community are depressed, while those living in theinstitutional environment of 30-40% have depression and anxiety. One effort that can be done to dealwith depression in the elderly is to use intervention Peer Group Support. Methods: This research usedPre-Experiment with the one group pre-post test design. The total sample was 30 respondents taken bypurposive sampling. The data were analyzed by Paired T Test,with significance value of 0.05.Results:based on test result of the paired t test, there was differences in level of depression before andafter peer group support (p=0,001). Discussion:with the provision of peer group support interventions,itcould reduce the level of depression in the elderly at UPT PSLU Blitar.

Abstract

Cholesterol is an essential substance for the body. The role of cholesterol as material hormones,cell membranare needed by the body. This conditionchanges into a distrubtion if the cholesterollevels in the blood increase. Weight becomes one of this trigger. The consumption of high-fat foodsincrease weight which resulting in the increase of cholesterol cases. The purpose of this study was todetermine the level of correlations between weight and cholesterol levels after being given a high-fatdiet.The study used rats (Rattus norvegicus) sex male, 16 rats with age between 1-2 months. Rats weightrange between 100-150 gr and in healthy conditions. The giving of high-fat diet were in the form ofchicken feed, duck eggs, goat oil, lard and flour for 8 weeks. The data measurement done by scales andmeasuringcholesterol levels through the end of the tail by means of easy touch. The data analysis weredone to understand level of correlation between variables. The presentation of the data used tables. Theresults showed body weight of rats did not change after administration of a high-fat diet. The cholesterolslevels of the subjects were high. Theadministration of high-fat diet from egg yolk dan goat oilcouldincrease the level of cholesterol. There was a correlation between weight and cholesterol levels afterbeing given a high-fat diet (p <0.5). It was needed to repeatthe measurements to determine changes incholesterol levels and other factors that affect thigh blood to cholesterol levels.

Abstract

Indonesia has a lot of potential natural and non-natural disasters. Non-natural disasterswhich often happened are fire disasters. One of them was market fire. In January 2015 until April 2015,there was an increasing more than 50 on fire in bigger traditional market and 90 smaller traditionalmarket in all over indonesia. The purpose of this research was to describe the marketeer preparednessof fire disaster management of Legi market Blitar city. The research method used descriptive design. Thepopulation in this research was a marketeer Legi Kota Blitar about 584 marketeer and the sample was58 marketeer taken by purposive sampling technique. The data collection was conducted by questionnaire.The results showed that the lack of preparedness of marketeer in the fire disaster still less as muchas 60.3% (35 marketeer). It was caused by there was no information of manner about the preparednessof fire disaster, no training, didn’t have the telephone number of fire department, no simple fire extinguishers,could not use a fire APAR or hydrant, and unable to perform first aid to fire victims.Recomendation of BPBD departement necessary gave education and training about fire disaster preparedness,especially in the market so it could decrease the risk of fire disaster in Legi market Blitar city.

Abstract

Smoking habits begins at younger age, in final school period or puberty. The desire of childrento try smoking is also based on their assumption that by smoking they would be accepted in somecommunity, or considered more severe, or as a symbol of rebellion against parents. The purpose of thisresearch was to determine the perception of Youngsters Smokers about Social Impact in Santo YusupCatholic Vocational High School Blitar. Objective: This research used descriptive method and instrumentsby questionnaire. The population was male smokers and female smokers who were in Santo YusupCatholic Vocational High School Blitar, the sample was 42 respondents, selected using total samplingtechnique. Result: The results showed that the perception of youngsters smokers about the social impactof smoking as much as 57% have correct perceptions and 43% have incorrect perceptions. Factorsaffected teenagers to have perceptions were true cognitive processed correctly about a object, subject,and certained of condition. Discussion: The recommendation from this research was expected the role ofteachers to improve the knowledge and order of smoking and smoking prohibition.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS is a global matter, it threatens the world including Indonesia. Antiretroviral (ARV)is a therapy which patients have to consume medicine for their life, antiretroviral (ARV) therapy is ableto make relieved to ODHA (HIV/AIDS patient) and family. Nurse participation is most needed by patientsin doing therapy process. The aim of this study was to know and analyze the correlation of nursesas educator by the compliance of antiretroviral medicine consumption to HIV/AIDS patients in VCTclinic of Dr. Moewardi hospital. This research used cross sectional approach. The research subjectswere HIV/AIDS patients which undergone antiretroviral (ARV) therapy in VCT clinic of Dr. Moewardihospital by 65 respondents as sample. The research instruments used questionnaire and follow-up card.The data analysis used chi square test. Result;Univariat analysis outcome was known by most of respondentsto perceive nurses participation as educator in good category (58,5%) and most of them areobedient in consuming antiretroviral (ARV) medicine (52,3%). Bivariat analysis outcome was the chisquare score to significant extend 5% as 6,665 by value 0,010 and odd ratio (OR) as mush as 3,846 CI95% (1.354-10.922). There was significant correlation between nurses as educator and the complianceof antiretroviral (ARV) medicine consumption in VCT clinic of Dr. Moewardi hospital.

Abstract

Normal childbirth or caesarean section will cause psychological effects for the mother andthe family. Maternal anxiety that undergoes caesarean section normally associated with all proceduresthat must be followed and life safety threat due to all kinds of surgical procedures and anesthesia action(Carpenito, 2001). This study aimed to determine the factors that effects maternal anxiety that undergocaesarean section. The research was a qualitative research with cross sectional. The population wasmaternal undergo caesarean section at R.A. Basoeni Hospital as many as 37 peoples and 27 sampleswere taken by simple random sampling. The data collected by questionnaires. The data were analyzedusing logistic regression. Results: There was no significant effect of age on maternal anxiety in undergocaesarean section, there was no significant effect of parity on maternal anxiety in undergo caesareansection, There was a significant effect of birth complications on maternal anxiety that undergo caesareansection, there was no significant effect of the type of caesarean on maternal anxiety that undergocaesarean section, there was a significant effect of husband accompanying on maternal anxiety thatundergo caesarean section, and together these factors 62.5% affect on maternal anxiety undergo caesareansection.Midwives should give a chance to her husband and family to accompany the motherduring the preparation of the casarean section in order to reduce anxiety.

Abstract

The aging process is a process of gradual disappearance of the network’s ability to repairitself and maintain its normal functions. Some physical changes will occur on all systems, for example inthe musculoskeletal system decreased fluid in the bone resulting in joint stiffness and joint pain. Themanagement of joint pain with some nonpharmacological therapy one of them is yoga. The purpose ofthis study was to identify the effectiveness of yoga to the joint pain of elderly. Method; This study designused pre and post test without control, with the number of sample 10 elderly people by purposivesampling. This research was conducted in elderly social services Blitar 11 to 14 December 2016. Thedata collected by using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The results of this study before the elderly didyoga was 80% felt joint pain scale was after attending a yoga 50% of elderly felt mild pain, the resultsof statistical analysis with Paired T Test was p = 0.001 means that there was an effect on joint pain byyoga exercises. Therefore, health employee could facilitate the elderly to follow yoga by bringing yogainstructors since yoga is considering not only reduces joint pain but also reduce stress and improve theenergy balance.
