Abstract

Qanun of education is hoped to be socialized in Aceh education. This research aims to give information and real description of islamic education in Banda Aceh city. The result showed that the concept of curriculum, educators, and educational institution in Qanun No. 5 year 2008 is the education run based on islamic values, foundations, and cultures as guidance to implement islamic law (syari’at) truly in every aspects of life. The implementation of curriculum, educators, and educational institution have contributed significantly, yet it still have to be improved.Overall, they are classified into good catagory. It showed that most of teachers have good impression toward the implementation of islamic education in Banda Aceh city.

Abstract

The globalization era which is full of challenges couldnot be avoided. Therefore, the educational institutions, especially islamic education, should be able to answer those challenges in order to change the direction of educational orientation. One of figures who is serious in building educational thinking paradigm is A. Malik Fadjar. This study aims to explore his educational thinking paradigm and educational concept proposed. A. Malik Fadjar faces the challenge of global era. The result of study showed that his educational thinking paradigm is holistic; in which the education is humanists, liberative, integralistics, multicultural and futuristic, either in the aspect of vision and mision, institution, management, patterns of educational interaction, curriculum, and educator. To face global era, A Malik Fadjar states that there are three big challenges, they are to protect the result achieved, anticipate the global era, and do some changes and adjustment of the national education system.

Abstract

A principal as a supervisor has to conduct supervision in his/her school. Hence he/she must be able to perform a variety of monitoring and control to improve the performance of teachers. Supervision and control are preventive ways to prevent teachers to do irregularities and thus will be more careful in carrying out his work as educators. This research is intended to study supervision activities performed by principal of Islamic Elementary School (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN)) Sukadamai Banda Aceh. The results of this research show several findings: 1). The focus of supervision activities performed by principal can be identified in two things i.e supervision activities concerning the teachers’ administration and teachers’ teaching practices; 2). Supervision activity is useful for teachers to solve educational problems at the time of learning, and to provide motivation for them to improve the knowledge to become professionals in teaching and learning process; 3). Principal’s barriers in supervision consists of overlapping activities and lack of operational budget.

Abstract

Professional teachers are teachers who have ability to design, implement, evaluate teaching learning and also have a high responsibility to improve students’ achievement. This study aims to know the ability of professional teacher of islamic education to improve students’ achievement at elementary school, SDN 1 Simpang Peut, Kuala district, Nagan Raya regency. The result showed that most of islamic education teachers of SDN 1 Simpang Peut had weaknesses in lesson planning. In general, islamic education teachers of SDN 1 Simpang Peut Nagan Raya had good ability to implement the lesson. It can be seen from their classroom management, learning facilities, teaching learning implementation, and interaction in the class. Yet, the comprehension of islamic education teachers toward the use of instructional media was still very limited. Half of islamic education teachers at SDN1 Simpang Peut, Kuala distric, Nagan Raya regency have good ability in evaluating the instruction. It can be seen from the item test produced by teachers to improve students’ achievement.

Abstract

Instructional media are used to deliver instructional contents. They can be in the forms of book, tape recorder, cassette, video camera, video recorder, film, photo, picture, graphics, television, and computer. They act as learning sources or physical tools that contained instructional materials to stimulate people to learn. The result of the research done in islamic senior high school, MAN Model Banda Aceh showed that the use of audio media could improve students’ achievement and the ability to write arabic language. Using visual media in writing could improve their achievement in writing as it relies on students’ imagination. Furthermore, from audio visual media, students could have new experience and motivate them to study arabic language.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know students’ responses toward the implementation of Poster Session method in teaching speaking skill and to know the result of their study in speaking Arabic. This research is class action research in class XI IPA of SMAIT Al-Fityan, Aceh Besar. The data collected through interviews, observations, and tests.The result of this research showed that the implementation of poster session method is effective in improving students’ speaking skills and achievements. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pelaksanaan metode Poster Session dalam pengajaran keterampilan berbicara serta mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dalam berbicara bahasa arab. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan di kelas XI IPA SMAIT Al-Fityan, Aceh Besar. Adapun instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa merespon secara positif penggunaan Poster Session dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab, demikian pula hasil belajar mereka menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan.

Abstract

Education based on aqidah (faith) is not understood as believe in pillar of faith only, but it is also understood and implemented all the commands of Allah and worshipping him. This study aims to find out the achievement level of faith-based educational program at kinder garten Az-Zahira, Meulaboh, Aceh Barat. The result showed that not all goals of the program in Az-Zahira kinder garten could be achieved. The students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric abilities were not improved as expected. There are several factors that causes it such as: the learning organization was not optimally done, the role of superintendant was not implemented maximally, and the role of parents were still minimum.

Abstract

The concept of education according to Islamic perspective, whether formal, informal, or non formal education, basically not only intended to give students knowledge or skills, but also to make them having social and spiritual quotients. It is that will make them to be excellent persons (insān kāmil). According to the philosophy of islamic education there are three terms denote the meaning of education i.e tarbiyah, ta’līm and ta’dīb. The last term is more appropriate to use, since covers knowledge and values to be transfered to students.
