Abstract

This research aimed to find out whether there was a significant effect of work climate and achievement motivation on teachers’ performances of State Islamic Junior High School in Pekanbaru. Used correlation method with quantitative approach. The total number of respondents was 30 teachers. Technique of collecting the data used observation, questionnaire and documentation. Technique of analyzing the data used qualification test which consists of normality test, linearity and homogeneity test, and hypothesis test which was done by using simple correlation analysis, multiple correlation and determination analysis (R2) which entirely used SPSS version 22.0. The result showed that work climate gave effects on teachers’ performances of Islamic State Junior High School in Pekanbaru which was at a very strong category was 0.989, achievement motivation gave effects on teachers’ performances of Islamic State Junior High School in Pekanbaru which was at a very strong category was 0.993. Furthermore, work climate and achievement motivation simultaneously gave effects on teachers’ performances of Islamic Junior High School which was at a very strong category was 0.994. If work climate and achievement motivation increase, teachers’ performances of Islamic State Junior High School in Pekanbaru will be higher. Conversely, if the work climate and achievement motivation decrease, teachers’ performances of Islamic State Junior High School in Pekanbaru will be lower. From these results, it is expected that teachers can maintain and enhance their performance in completing the tasks optimally.

Abstract

The article wants to discuss the existence of the majelis ta'lim as one model of Islamic non-formal education. The discussion uses a qualitative descriptive method by examining library sources and supported by field data. The results of the discussion show that majelis ta’lim is one of non formal Islamic Education system, majelis ta’lim has role and function that is very important in growing and developing of Islamic education. The implementation of this education can help to understand the developing process in religious and community life for members of majelis ta’lim. Now a days, function and role of majelis ta’lim is reducted, so that lack and not optimal for the people. Generally majelis ta’lim is held potluck, as decitation group, the recitation that was held by muslim especially female voluntarily, and without preparation.

Abstract

This study aims to find out lesson contained in surah al-Jumu’ah verse 2 and to explore the existence of the teachers’ responsibilities in surah al-Jumu’ah verse 2. This is a library research in which the research activities are carried out by collecting data from various literatures that include books in libraries, documents, and others. The findings of this study show that the teachers’ responsibilities are similar to the duties of the prophets and apostles. Therefore the best way to be used by a teacher is to model and imitate what had been taught by the Prophet to his students (friends) in guiding, directing, advising, with the main duty is to always teach the Quran to the students to make them calm down and soften their soul in accepting lessons, cleanse their souls from the misguided understanding of ‘aqidah and the despicable nature leading to fitrah, noble character and purity of heart, teach the contents of the Quran, hadith, and science (wisdom) universally.

Abstract

This paper discusses the thought of ‘Abdullah Nashih‘ Ulwan (1928-1987 M.) about social education for children in his work Tarbiyah al-Aulad fi al-Islam, which focuses on methods in educating children and aspects of psychological change for adolescents. This paper explores the ideas of ‘Ulwan as outlined in his work specifically, using the content analysis method, in which the sentences of ‘Ulwan are analyzed one by one, so that the concept of planting social education for children is found. This discussion discovers four methods of Islamic social education in the perspective of ‘Abdullah Nāshih‘ Ulwān, which is to instill noble psychological principles, preserve the rights of others, maintain social ethics in general and social supervision and criticism. The application of these methods must consider aspects of changes in adolescent psychology, namely cognitive aspects, emotional aspects, moral aspects, social aspects, and aspects of religiosity.

Abstract

This article discusses an institution that has long existed and has a very important role in Pontianak. Beginning with the study conducted at the home of H. Arif until the establishment of an institution called “Islamic college.” Islamic educational institutions are institutions or places where the educational process takes place with the aim to change the behavior of individuals towards better through interaction with the surrounding environment. And the change in question is certainly based on Islamic values. This study uses a qualitative method with a narrative approach that narrates and interprets the role of an Islamic educational institution from its foundation. The research findings show that Islamic schools experience development and progress as Islamic education institutions in Pontianak and have challenges in dealing with invaders.
