Abstract

Due to the increasing of Gracilaria sp demand in international market, intensive culture is required for it. Used niche of shrimp pound could be give adventages in Gracilaria sp culture, and also Gracilaria sp culture in shrimps pound can be used as shelter for the shrimp from direct sunlight. The aim of this research are to know sedimentation effect in shrimp pound its relationship in Gracilaria sp growth and water quality because of existing Gracilaria sp in the pound. The research  on June until December 2005.Experiment research method is used in this research. Data of Gracilaria sp growth and level of sedimentation will be collected in 7 (seven) weeks in one week time interval “rakit apung” methods is used in this research and its located the near of water inlet, pound fields, and near the water outlet. Corelation and regration are used to data analysis. Temperature, salinity, pH, depth, water flow and transparency of the water will be analyzed for water quality. As the result, the average of growth level of Gracilaria sp which is located in the fields pound higher than Gracilaria which located both near the water inlet and outlet, and the average of sedimentation level in the field pound less than both near the water inlet and outlet. In corelation regretion analysis found an interaction between level of sedimentation and the growth of Gracilaria sp especially which is located near the water inlet. The water quality still good for Gracilaria sp.Key Words: Sedimentation, Gracilaria sp, Growth

Abstract

The effort of aquaculture especially in the brackish and marine water becomes more develope,. That development cannot be separated from seeding phase. To sufficient the needed of seed, it is needed seed aquaculture by giving sufficient and quality life food, because it cannot be replace yet by the imitation food on the early of larvae seedling. One of the life food is Chlorella sp that given to zooplankton variety directly to the fish or shrimp cultivan. Therefore the Walne, Guillard’s f/2, and Erdschreiber culture mediums are suitabel medium used to phytoplankton culture.  The purpose of this research is to know the influence of medium of usage of Walne, Guillard’s f/2, and Erdschreiber on the growth of Chlorella. Also to know the best medium from those three medium on the growth of Chlorella sp the research was Laboratories experimental character. The effort scheme used is completely randomized design 3 treatments and 3 times repetitions,  Those 3 treatments are as follows: A. Walne Medium, B. Guillard’s f/2 Medium, and C. Erdschreiber Medium. The result of the research shows that the used of different culture medium effect on the growth of Chlorella sp, that is significant difference (P<0,05) on the Lag Phase time with best treatment B (0,290 days), great significant difference (P<0,01) on the specific growth rate with best treatment B (0.655). Thus on the maximum density and final density (on Log No. sel/mL) is great significant differences with best treatment B (Guillard’s f/2) each are 7.931 and 6.443. The best medium for Chlorella sp. from those three mediums used in this research is Guillard’s f/2 medium.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Key Words : medium, culture, growth, Chlorella sp

Abstract

Abalone is one of the marine mollusk that has high economic value. Mass abalone cultivation requires the mature gonads broodstock to produce seeds, but the maturity of the gonads of male and female often can not be simultaneously. Artificial insemination using a solution of ammonia is one solution to produce abalone seed in the hatchery. Ammonia solution can increase motility, fertilization rate of eggs and abalone seed production, so the provision of seeds for cultivation of abalone is independent from nature. The research of artificial insemination was carried out at various levels of gonadal maturation dams abalone (H. asinina) to determine the percentage of fertility and hatching rate of eggs from each Gonad Maturity Level. In stadia gonadal recovery, no fertilization occurs, whereas in the gonads maturing stadia had fertilization and hatching rate 24.33 ± 2.08% and 22.12 ± 2.18%, respectively at ripe stadia, gonads had been fertilization and hatching rate were 94.67% ± 1.53% and 82.82% ± 3.58%, wasn’t recorded in the stadia spent fertilization did not occur because the eggs were released in culture media. Gonad Maturity Level, thus can be used in artificial insemination was the ripe gonadal stadia, which had the highest percentage of both levels of fertilization and hatching rate with a diameter ranging from 189.6-252.8 μm.   Key Words : Abalone (H. asinine); Artificial breeding; Gonad Maturity Level; Hatching Rate

Abstract

Zooxanthellae are part of the phototropic dinoflagellates. This organism  always live as symbiotically with several marine invertebrates. Relationship between zooxanthellae and coral are mutualistic with the transfer nutritif and phisiologis character. With this character, no coral can live without zooxanthellae. Zooxanthellae have vital control on the coral and sessile life. Model of relationship between zooxanthellae and coral are adopted in the artificial environment for take the massalization culture zooxanthellae in the artificial environment. This study was purposed to : (a) Evaluating of environment limiting factors to support optimum growth of zooxanthellae in the artificial environment; (b) Evaluating of purification culture of zooxanthellae and (c) Formulating nutritif to maintenance of maximum gorwth of zooxanthellae. The experiment took place in Natural food and Genetic laboratory of Main Centre of Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Jepara from August 2004 to September 2005. The result showed that: (a) The optimum irradiance for growth of zooxanthellae is green radiance (with comparison 490 - 550 nm); (b) The optimum temperature for growth of zooxanthellae are 20 – 25oC and (c) Adding of 200 µM NaNO3 with repeat again for 16 days,   Key Words: Zooxanthellae, Life Model,Massalization Growth
