Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that has the concept of interrelation between one material with another. Understanding the interrelated material required the existence of a basic ability that is the ability to connect mathematics. The obstacle experienced by students is that when given a problem and the solution is related to the previous material, students are unable to remember the material that is the key to solving the problem. The inability of students is due to lack of memory of previous material and students pay less attention when the teacher is explaining in class. Personality differences make students have different mathematical connection abilities. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of students' mathematical connections in terms of sanguinis, koleris, melancholy, and plegmatic personality types. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study in the form of case study research. Methods of data collection used personality type questionnaires, math connection test questions, and interviews. The results showed that the sanguinis and plegmatic personality types were able to meet all the connection indicators. Koleris personality type is able to fulfill 4 indicators. Melancholy personality types produce different connection capabilities, namely the ability of connections that meet 4 indicators and 1 indicator. This research can provide benefits for students to improve their mathematical connections and understand their personality types. Students who understand their personality types can minimize negative traits that inhibit mathematical connections.

Abstract

Abstract

The longer the fish population will decrease or experience extinction due to continuous fishing by humans. Conservation areas are needed as an effort to maintain the marine ecosystem and avoid extinction. The dynamics stability of the model can be seen from the equilibrium point. So that the application of mathematics can be used to make prey-predator population dynamics models and determine ways to optimize fish harvesting. The mathematical model is divided into three populations and in two different areas. To get maximum harvesting (E), use the Pontryagin Maximum Principle. So that the maximum benefit obtained when harvesting is 0.77 to 0.95.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the most important sciences in life, this can be seen from mathematics lessons that have even been learned since elementary school and even kindergarten. But learning mathematics is not always easy. Based on observations in the field, there are still many teachers in schools providing a less innovative learning, learning strategies that are still monotonous and learning methods that are less interesting.Based on data from the UN results in 2019 obtained from the Ministry of Education and Culture shows that NTT is one of 12 provinces where the average UN score is below the national average. Because mathematics is one of the UNBK subjects but occupies the lowest place of other subjects, the authors consider mathematics to be the center of attention, especially in the NTT region especially Kefamenanu. Therefore, the writer applies the sudoku game-assisted learning method to improve the understanding of the students of Warta Bakti Kefamenanu. The researcher compared the pre-test and post-test scores which gave the result that the scores were lower than the post-test scores. This confirms that students' understanding after learning by using the Sudoku game gives significant results.

Abstract

Corporate planning in determining the amount income decision making for the period based on turnover, gold and exchange rates at the Pegadaian Syariah Branch Subrantas Sidomulyo Unit Pekanbaru. The Purpose of this study is to investigate the use of fuzzy logic aplication using Mamdani methos for dicision making determination of total income. The results of this study indicate that the prediction of income with accuracy reaches 87,4632%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ mathematical conceptual understanding ability based on their adversity quotient. The indicators of mathematical conceptual understanding in this study are (1) to restate a concept, (2) classifying objects by their properties, (3) giving an examples and counter examples, (4) presenting concepts into various mathematical representation, (5) to use and choose the procedure properly, (6) applying a concept or algorithm in problem solving and (7) to develop the sufficient requirements of a concept. There are three types of adversity quotients in this study are quitter, camper, and climber. This is a descriptive qualitative research. The Subjects in this study were 106 people of natural science major, in second grade of high school in Jakarta. The instrument used was the test of mathematical conseptual understanding ability and adversity quotient questionaire. Data were analyzed by reducing data, presenting the data and making the conclusions. Based on the study, there are two students with quitter types, 60 students with camper types, and 44 students with climber types. This Research indicates that the mathematical conceptual understanding ability is moderate category and the type of students’ adversity quotient is classified as camper.
