Abstract

Having good knowledge, skills, and good character is the next generation of superior nation.Many ways can be taken to foster the character of the younger generation, such as through theapplication of the values of “Tri Hita Karana” in the story of the “Yuyu yang Baik” by Cok Sawitri. Thisresearch is a qualitative descriptive study. This study contains the values of “Tri Hita Karana” in“Yuyu's yang Baik” story. Data was collected through data cards and analysed by the Mils andHuberman model. This model goes through three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation,and drawing conclusions. The conclusion of this study is that character education can be taught toearly childhood based on the values of “Tri Hita Karana” in “Yuyu's yang Baik”.

Abstract

This study was conducted to improve the competence of students of SMP N 1 Sukasada inconstructing Simple Present Tense sentences by applying the concept of Subject – Verb Agreementand appropriate Auxiliaries through the Mistake Buster Technique. Grammar is one of the languagecomponents that should be mastered by the students in order to develop accuracy and creativity inusing the language in communication. The findings of the study show the students’ competence inconstructing sentence is improving; it is shown by the students’ mean score which improves from cycleto cycle. From the observation, it was found that MBT allows students to find and correct mistakesthemselves which help them to understand the rules deeper.

Abstract

This research aimed at investigating the effect of MALL strategy through Quizizz applicationtowards the students’ grammar mastery in higher education level. The design of this research was aquasi-experimental research with post-test only control group design. This research population wasthe 4th semester which consists of 246 students in English Language Education UNDIKSHA. Thesampling technique of this research was cluster random sampling. The sample was 33 students of FClass as the experimental group who was taught by using MALL strategy through Quizizz and 32students of C class as the control group who was taught by using conventional strategy. This resultwas also supported by the calculation result of effect size which was 0.92 that belongs to the largesteffect. The large result of the effect size proven that the use of MALL strategy through QuizizzAplication was appropriate for teaching grammar especially in higher education level.

Abstract

argon is one of language varieties that is used based on some purposes. The languagevariety which is called jargon that is used in occupational or used for spesific purposes like in HRD(Human Resource Department) in five stars hotel, especially one of the hotel is The Lovina Bali whichlocated at Lovina, Singaraja north Bali. This study aimed at desacribing (1) the Jargons that are usedin the HRD at The Lovina Bali, (2) the forms of Jargons used among the HRD at The Lovina Bali, (3)the meaning of jargons used among the HRD at The Lovina Bali. The obtain data were indentify using3 instruments : (1) Checklist, (2) Interview Guide and (3) Tape Recording. This study conclude that :(1) There were 121 jargons used in Human Resource Department (HRD).

Abstract

Many researchers suggested that the language taught in the classroom must reflect how it is usedby native speakers because there has been a gap between the language used in the classroom andthe language in real life. This study aimed to determine the level of authenticity of the material used bythe English teachers and also to find out the criteria that teachers use in choosing authentic material.This study used explanatory mix-method research where quantitative data results will be supported byqualitative data results. The subjects of this study were three English teachers in senior high school inSingaraja. Data from this study were collected through document study and interviews. The result ofthis study indicates that the materials used by English teachers in senior high schools in Singaraja arein the level authentic.
