Abstract

Anodizing process is a process that aims to strengthen the natural protective layer of metals so that the metal becomes a material that is resistant to rust and scratch by using electrolyte solutions and strong DC currents that help the occurrence of chemical reactions. The anodizing process is strongly influenced by current and voltage, the greater the current and voltage, the thicker the oxide layer that occurs on the aluminum surface and the hardness (hardness) will also increase so that the material becomes rust resistant, scratch resistant and if given an organic coating easy to fade or peel off. Optimization of current and voltage on portable anodizing devices will add value to the quality (quality value) of these materials.

Abstract

Audit Energi adalah tindakan pemeriksaan dan pengujian terhadap energi yang digunakan dalam suatu kegiatan untuk mendapatkan data pemakaian energi, sebagai bahan masukan dan saran berupa tindakan perbaikan dengan tujuan agar dapat dicapainya penggunaan energi secara efisien, dimana semaksimal mungkin output yang sama dapat diperoleh dengan menggunakan energi lebih sedikit, ataupun dengan mengurangi konsumsi dan kegiatan yang menggunakan energi. PLTU unit 5 PT. PJB Muara Karang yang telah beroperasi selama kurang lebih 35 tahun mengalami gap performance yang cukup signifikan terhadap commissioning (new and clean condition) sehingga diperlukan suatu upaya identifikasi untuk mempersempit gap performance tersebut. Abstract

PT PLN (PERSERO) is a company engaged in electricity in Indonesia and plays a role in the generation and distribution of electricity to consumers. PLN has quality standards that must be met, one of which is a stable frequency even though the load keeps changing all the time. In electric power systems, the frequency value is an indicator of the balance between active power generated with a total load of active system power and losses. The frequency value will increase if there is an excess generation and conversely the frequency value will decrease if there is a shortage of generation or overload. If there is a disturbance that causes the large capacity generating unit to be release from the systems (trip), in this case the PLTU Pangkalan Susu and PLTU Nagan Raya will cause a decrease in frequency so that the Northern Sumatera interconnection system is disrupted. A large decrease in frequency can lead to failure of generating units in a row so that it can cause total system failure (blackout). To avoid a total system failure (blackout) a load shedding scheme with under frequency relay (UFR) is carried out. This research is done by experimental methods. According to this research, it’s been found that the setting of under frequency relay conducted by PLN UP2B Northern Sumatera is good, in this sense of blocking the system from blackout due to a massive power trip.

Abstract

In meeting customer needs while maintaining the stability of the power system, PT. PLN (Persero) conducted an acceleration program carried out on the generation system which was followed by upgrading of the main technical material (MTU) found in several substations both on 500 kV and 150 kV systems. One of the MTUs conducted by Uprating is a Circuit Breaker (CB) equipment 500 kV located in the New Balaraja Extra High Voltage Substation (GITET). The difference in manufacturer's brand is an obstacle to the Uprating process so that it needs to be done Wiring Modification. The test equipment performed is the quality of SF6 gas, insulation and contact resistance, CB opening and closing time, minimum coil voltage and capacitance testing that refers to applicable standards and then analyzed the results of tests with existing theories.

Abstract

Three phase induction motor is widely used in the manufacturing industry because it has many advantages including easy maintenance, efficient use in various fields, durability and easy construction. This is behind the massive use of motorcycles. but the 3 phase induction motor also has disadvantages such as high starting currents and difficult to regulate speed. After emerging innovations regarding inverters as induction motor starters, the application of the device expanded because of its principle which regulates the number of motor frequencies slowly so as to make the 3-phase induction motor more efficient.The use of an inverter is indeed a solution to the problem of starting a 3-phase induction motor and regulating the motor speed, but behind the advantages there are disadvantages that the inverter produces a low power factor when operating the motor. The highest power factor when the inverter is working is 0.748, the lowest value is 0.478 and the average is 0.634. Based on this, it is necessary to optimize the improvement of the power factor to restore the condition of the motor to a standard power factor rating of 0.85.This research discusses the optimization of the improvement of the power factor by installing the DC reactor on the inverter unit and the results of an increase in the value of the highest power factor of 0.942, for the lowest value of 0.908 and an average of 0.927. the value of harmonics in the THD I1 (R) phase for the highest value of 184,230%, then the lowest value of 83,764% and for an average value of 119,329%

Abstract

Bogor is one of the major cities in Indonesia where electricity demand is increasing rapidly every year. PT Sinar Energi Indonesia has large vacant land plans to build a 1 MW Solar Power Plant (SPP) in the Cileungsi area. This is supported by the location which is close to the Cileungsi substation owned by PLN (800 meters) and also SPP is suitable with the characteristics of the electricity load in the area where the peak load occurs during the day and the development of SPP will reduce pollution caused by thermal plants. Interconnection of SPP with Cileungsi substation requires separate analysis to determine the best interconnection design between SPP and PLN grid. The author will use ETAP 12.6 software for load flow, short circuit and transient analysis so that the interconnection design will not cause harm, both for developers and for PLN. From the simulation results with ETAP 12.6 software does not show a negative impact (small power losses, small voltage drop, and the value of the short circuit current that occurs does not exceed the capacity of the equipment), and if there is a disturbance in the SPP unit, the transient shows within 1 second, the system has stabilized. Beside technical side, the economic point of view from this Solar Power Plant will also have a positive impact with the planned electricity tariff value of 6,884 cent US $ / kWh, still below the local production cost value (West Java 6.91 cent US $ / kWh, ESDM Ministerial Decree No.55 years 2019). Therefore, this research is expected to be able to help the developer and PLN in interconnection of the Solar Power Plant Cileungsi to PLN grid.
