Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an environmentally-based dangerous disease which is still a world health problem. WHO noted that Indonesia is a country with the highest cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Southeast Asia (WHO, 2016). In 2019 the cases increased with the number of cases 137.761. West Kalimantan Province is one of the 5th highest provinces out of 34 provinces in Indonesia for 2018. Ketapang Regency is in the first place with the highest number of cases in Delta Pawan District. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of socio demography and physical environment on the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. This study used a case control design. The research sample was 132 respondents (66 cases and 66 controls) respondents obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques by interviewing, questionnaires, and observations. Data analysis using chi-square. The results showed that there was a relationship between income (p = 0.024), ventilation (p = 0.005) and water reservoirs (p = 0.023). There was no relationship between population mobility (p = 0.601) and house distance (p = 0.577) with the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever. The conclusion of this study is that the variables associated with the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in the Delta Pawan district of Ketapang regency are income, ventilation and water reservoirs variables. It needs to increase health promotion about the dangers of DHF and the importance of PSN (advocacy, atmosphere building, social support and household empowerment) and improve the performance of jumantik through continuous supervision and facilitation, it is necessary to increase awareness by always closing water reservoirs and using gauze. Through these efforts, it is hoped that there will be an increase in larva free (ABJ) and a decrease in the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF).

Abstract

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a collection of symptoms and infections that arise due to damage to the human immune system due to infection with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The number of HIV patients at Panti Wilasa Hospital continues to increase from every year in 2018 the number is 150 HIV / AIDS patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the increase in CD4+ levels of HIV / AIDS patients receiving ARV therapy at Panti Wilasa Citarum and Dr. Cipto Hospitals Semarang. This research is a quantitative study, with a cross-sectional approach. The minimum sample of the study was 38 respondents using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study using Multiple Logistic Regression. The results of the study, the most influential variables were clinical stage (p=0.000), and concomitant disease tuberculosis (p = 0.14) on the increase in CD4+ levels. The risk of HIV / AIDS transmission in Indonesia is the highest and until now, there is no cure for HIV. ARV therapy can inhibit the development of the HIV virus, giving ARVs is given if the CD4+ level is less than 500 cells / mm3, or there are other conditions in HIV patients. The importance of early awareness in ARV therapy for early initiation of ARVs is proven to be clinically beneficial, useful for prevention, increase life expectancy and reduce the incidence of HIV-related infections.

Abstract

Obesity is the buildup of abnormal or excessive fat that can be detrimental to health. High flavor-flavoring consumption or monosodium glutamate (MSG) is one of the factors contributing to the increase in obesity of the Indonesian population. This study aims to analyze the effect of MSG on giving to Lee's index in mice. The Lee index is one of the indicators in determining mice obesity. The type of research was pure laboratory experimental research, with the design Post Test Only Control Group. The mice were divided into four random clusters. Each cluster contained six mice. The control cluster was given standard feed + drink, cluster I was given standard feed + drink + MSG 10.4 mg / 20gbb, cluster II was given standard feed + drink + MSG 20.8 mg / 20gbb and cluster III was given standard feed + drink + MSG 26 mg / 20gbb for 28 days. Day 29 was the weight lift and the length to calculate the lee index. Data normality analyze used Spahiro Wilk and the homogeneity test used Levene's test. The results of the variance homogeneity test showed that the value of p = 0.374, so that the lee index value of each cluster did not have a significant difference (p 0.05). Then continued with the One Way Anova test, the value of p = 0.246 (meaningful if p 0.05). It could be concluded that the provision of MSG 4 grams, 8 grams, and 10 grams did not have a significant effect on the lee index value in mice between the control cluster and the treatment cluster.
