Abstract

Sepatu Dahlan’ Novel by Khrisna Pabichara Analysis of Psychological Literature And Educational Values. This research is qualitative descriptive study using the approach of structuralism and psychological aspects of character with the methods and strategies for qualitative descriptive content analysis. Activities carried out reading, looking at, interpreting, and analyzing the novel Sepatu Dahlan. The results of the activity described in the form of sentences. This study aims to describe and explain (1) narrative structure, (2) the psychology of character, and (3) educational values embodied in the novel Sepatu Dahlan by Khrisna Pabichara. Thus research was descriptive qualitative research with content analisys method. The data or important informations were collected and studied in this research includes words from and the result is written in the document analysis. The technique which was used to collect the data was reading, writing, and analyzing on that novel. The validity data which was used was trianggulasi data, trianggulasi method, and trianggulasi theory: the technique analysis data wich was used in this research was analyzing interactive technique. The result of research on the pychology of the characters in the novel Sepatu Dahlan by Khrisna Pabichara includes: psychological needs, security needs, cherished and loved needs, esteem needs, and actualization. Further more, the educational values are religion, moral, social, economy, and culture.Key words: novel Sepatu Dahlan, psychology literature, educational values.

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation of Contextual Method for Improving Writing Skill of Short Story Class-XII IPS 3 SMA Bojonegoro Academic Year 2011/2012. Writing short stories for high school students is considered a difficult activity. Trouble to write his ideas properly. It is also experienced by students of SMA Negeri 3 Bojonegoroclass-XII IPS 3. In this study using contextual learning methods, namely the method of selecting information based on the needs of individual students. The results show contextual application of the method can improve the quality of student learning outcomes writing short stories class XII IPS 3 SMAN 3 Bojonegoro school year 2011/2012. This isindicated by the increase in the percentage of students who achieve a range of 85-100. For comparison the results of short stories written in the early reflections only 11.42%, i.e. 11.42%  first cycle, whereas 28.57% in the second cycle. So also in the range of 0-44 also decreased. For comparison, the pre-action is 20.01%, 14.30% first cycle, second cycleand 14.30%.Key words: Contextual Method, Learning Writing, Short Story.

Abstract

Effects of Numbered Head Together (NHT) Learning Model Based on Realistic towards Student Achievement. This study was aim at proving whether Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model based on realistic towards students’ learning outcomes of statistics topic at the seventh graders of MTs Mujahideen Sambong in the academic year of 2012/2013. The population in this study was all students of the second semester students of class VII in MTs Mujahideen Sambong in the academic year of 2012/2013. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling that was selected two classes VIIB and VIIC. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model based on realistic towards students’ learning outcomes of statistics topic at the seventh graders of MTs Mujahideen Sambong in the academic year of 2012/2013.Keywords: Models of Learning Numbered Head Together (NHT), Realistic, Conventional, Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

The Use of Know, Want to Know, Learned (KWL) Technique to Improve Teaching and Learning Process. This research aims at finding out whether KWL technique can improve the class situation when it is used in the teaching and learning process the class.The subject of the research was the first grade of SMA N 3 Sragen, Central Java, in the academic year of 2011/2012. The research was conducted in two cycles: the first cycle consisted of three meetings, and so did the second cycle. The procedures of the research consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. To collect the data the writer used class observation and made the conclusion to analyze the qualitative data.The result of the research shows that KWL technique can enhance class situation, in terms of: (a) the students’ attention that make them concentrate on the lesson; (b) their  participation and interaction when having and responding teacher’s questions; and (c) the motivation to join the teaching and learning process in the class.The research comes to the conclusion that there are some improvements of the students’ participation in teaching and learning process when using the KWL technique. Keywords: KWL technique, teaching learning process, class situation.

Abstract

Strategy for Enhancing the Quality of Private Schools (Case StudyinSMP X Kab. Semarang). SMP X is one of the private formal educational institutions are faced with the problem how to improve its quality. Research which is conducted in the junior X aims to identify opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses junior X to the right strategic planning to increase quality. This research used qualitative methods. Data obtained from the parties who know the conditions and circumstances of junior X. The results showed there were opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses derived from SMP X. Those factors are dominant factors to improve the quality of junior X, because of deal with eight standardize education. Identification result of situations and conditions, it’s formulated several strategies that can be used to improve the quality of SMP X. Some strategies are more focused on quality improvement through learning, fulfillment of infrastructures, quality improvement  of educators cooperation programs with other partnersip. Keywords: Opportunities, Threats, Strengths, Weaknesses, Strategy, Quality.

Abstract

Common Written Errrors of English Department Students in IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. Writing is still considered to be the most difficult skill to master as it combines ideas getting, grammatical structures, vocabulary, and mechanics. Producing good written English is an essential and required skill for English Department Students. This study examines the common errors in written English produced by the students of English Department in IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. The error analysis on writing aims at giving the English teacher or lecturer data about common written errors and arousing the students to be more confident and enthusiastic in producing good writing by giving them correction symbols. Data were collected from narrative and descriptive texts written by the students of class 2C of English Department in IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. The errors are analyzed in ten categories which use ten correction symbols, they are: 1) S (spelling), WO (word order), G (grammar), T (tense), C (concord), ! (missing things), WW (wrong word), [ ] (unnecessary things), ?M (unclear meaning), and P (punctuation). The overall results indicate that the most errors the students made were grammar mistakes and unnecessary things. On the contrary, the students made the least errors in word order. It was also found that the students made errors in the rest categories including spelling, tenses, concord, missing things, wrong words, unclear meaning, and punctuation.Key words: common errors, written English, correction symbols, descriptive qualitative.
