Abstract

Submarine has been widely used both for military and for underwater research, various models of hull forms including capsule-shaped submarine. From the capsule form is to be modified in order to get bow shape forms the barrier fluid is small, so the use of power the main engine will be smaller and can save fuel. The shape and size of the bow of the submarine models to be analyzed consists of three (3) the shape and size of the different models. Model first (1) shaped like a capsule, the second model (2) measure the same length as the capsule form is only the tip of the bow made a sharp resembles a bullet, the third model (3) the same shape as the second model just the tip of the bow that resembles the size of a bullet extended. Fluid analysis using ANSYS CFD software version 15.0. where modeling and manufacturing of using ICEM CFD meshing, defining domain for the fluid and the boundary layer to limit the fluid domain using CFX-Pre, iteration calculation using CFX Solver Manager while to display the results of calculations using CFD-post. Meshing is used to achieve independent meshing, so if meshing plus will not affect the results obtained. Results Barriers fluid to the model of unity of 294 581 Newton, for the second model of 275 961 Newton while the third model obtained at 271 939 Newton.

Abstract

Automation is one of method in production process in manufacturing sector. Automation changes work system of man-power become to automatically system as the result of combination beetween mechanical and electrical. Automation implemented at material transfer process in production process of steel wheel for car with category I-IV at PT. X. Material transfer of wheel has begin from welding process and going to Run-Out machine where dimension checking take place. Automatic feeder have function as a equipment to helps steel wheel transfer to Run-Out machine. With design method of VDI 2221, have result of best automatic feeder machine design concept from technical aspect and economic from some alternative concepts. At the design, feeder use pneumatic as actuator and logic of PLC program that triggered by sensor. Feeder machine produces optimalization of working time during production process because of consistency of production process. Beside of that, produces cost efficiency from investation because expenditure for man-power can be allocated to other position in production line.

Abstract

HVAC system ( Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning ) is a system that serves to organize temperatures and humidity the air on a room , that feels comfortable condition. In redesigned system HVAC to 8 floors office buildings , by using CLTD method ( cooling load temperature difference ), where the state of temperature design at 73,4 and 50% moisture. Existing cooling load 8.880.000 BTU/hr and air supply existing of 264.180 CFM. Redesigned calculation of cooling load is 11.626.701 BTU/hr ,where there is increased by 30.9 %, and obtained needs air supply of 343.456,73 CFM and increased by 30 %. Chiller system installation at the building using air cooled chiller , existing chiller using four chiller units of 250 tons refigerant each and one units for back up. Based of calculation obtained chiller capacity is 969 tons refrigerant, so that four units chiller available must in operates with 17 Air Handling Unit (AHU) to be optimum cooling,with dimension ducting 35 in the largest and smallest 9,5 in.

Abstract

Radiator is one of heat exchanger applications that has a function to remove out of heat must be able to operate properly forallowed engine temperature limit. Vehicles that operate on the street usually driving with varying rpm so that the heat produced by the combustion process is not constant and then this study analyze the performance of radiators as a function of time (transient condition). Tests is done on the condition of operating the engine with five rpm variations, each for one hour with air conditioning load and without air-conditioning load. Thedata to be collected includ the inlet and outlet temperatureof radiator and radiator fluid volume flow. The results obtained is heat exhausted rate as a performance radiator is increasing as with increasing of engine rpm and at load conditions with the AC produces heat exhausted rate is greater than AC without AC load. The heat exhausted rate in an hour of machine operation still shows the system operates at a transient condition due to there still exists a numerical increase in the heat exhausted rate as a function of time.

Abstract

PT. X is a company engaged in the field of engineering services procurement and construction (EPC), whose scope of work is the provision which has activities such as selecting subcontractors and evaluate the performance of subcontractors and building maintaining relationship with subcontractors. The selection of subcontractors has been less effective, because the show just based on the lowest offer and mere instinct of managers. So that when the project goes arises the problem stems from a subcontractor who is not taken into account before. This research helps decision maker in making the decision to choose a subcontractor in the project Based Oil Flushing (BOF) by integrating Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. AHP is used to determine the weight of the priority with seven aspect of the three first priorities of quality aspects, financial aspects, and aspects of the company’s reputation, and is also used to determine the weight AHP priorities of the twenty-three criteria with three first priority the offer price, quality assurance, and work experience. Of the four subcontractors research result into the most optimal subcontractor, chosen in accordance with the value of the achievement of targets is limited to the smallest deviation from other subcontractors.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri otomotif dalam hal ini alat berat yaitu sebagai sarana logistic untuk sarana angkut hasil pertambangan dewasa ini sangat tinggi dan bersaing, terutama penggunaan mobil-mobil yang bermuatan besar dalam hal ini Semi Trailer Side Tipper tipe 74 sebagai alat transportasi darat. Tingginya permintaan dari sebesar 20 unit perbulan menjadi 32 unit perbulan yang dipengaruhi oleh harga terjangkau dan kesesuaian dengan minat masyarakat Indonesia, membuat pihak pengelola harus meningkatkan efisiensi dari beberapa aspek untuk tetap meningkatkan kualitas.Demikian pula yang terjadi pada PT. XYZ sebagai salah satu perusahaan pengadaan atau pembuatan Semi Trailer Side Tipper tipe 74. Hal ini juga berdampak pada line efficiency jalur perakaitan Semi Trailer Side Tipper tipe 74 nilai Efisiensi line 24,88 %, Idle Time 14,49 jam, Balance delay 6 %, Smoothest Indeks 8,61, Takt Time 14,67 jam/unit. Metode yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan line efficiency dan menurunkan idle time, Balance Delay, Smoothest Indeks, Takt Time yaitu metode penyeimbangan lintasan atau line balancing. Hasil yang diperoleh dari aktivitas line balancing pada jalur produksi Semi Trailer Side Tipper tipe 74 adalah jumlah stasiun kerja menurun dari 16 stasiun kerja menjadi 15 stasiun kerja, efficiency line meningkat dari 75,12 % menjadi 80,81%, idle time ratio menurun dari 14,49 jam menjadi 8,90 jam, Balance Delay menurun dari 6% menjadi 5,89% dan Smoothest Indeks meurun dari 8,61 menjadi 6,71. Peningkatan efisiensi pada jalur Semi Trailer Side Tipper tipe 74 berimbas pada kebutuhan operator produksi yang bertambah dari 41 operator menjadi 43 operator. Dengan menurunnya kebutuhan produksi 20 unit perbulan menjadi 32 unit perbulan serta pengurangan stasiun kerja di kurangi dengan penambahan 2 orang operator maka perusahaan mendapat keuntungan kotor sebesar Rp 132.838.460,- per bulan atau Rp 1.594.061.520,- per tahun.

Abstract

Floating dock is one of the places for the repair of ship. It is a building that float on the sea, and has the ability to raise the vessel with longitudinal or transverse slope sizeable. It is needed a stable balance during the docking operation. In the implementation of docking the vessel must pay attention to the security elements of material and personnel. Should be avoided for slope occurring and ensuring the security and safety of the ship docking process. Plant from the earth can used as dyes for colouring textiles. The leveas must be extracted with boil water until thick with viscouscity. Dyes with viscouscity from plant are non carsinogen. Its used for dyeing textile .

Abstract

Pada masa globalisasi seperti saat ini, industri berlomba-lomba untuk dapat menjalankan produksinya dengan efisien. Semakin efisien suatu proses yang dijalankan maka semakin rendah pula cost yang akan dikeluarkan. Demikian pula yang terjadi pada Line Rear Axle Assy, dengan mempunyai efisiensi lintasan sebesar 88,28%, lini produksi ini mempunyai waktu menganggur, sehingga kapasitas produksi menjadi rendah dan mengakibatkan Loading vs Capacity (LVC) lini tersebut tinggi, yaitu menyentuh angka 126%. Dengan metode penyeimbangan lintasan (line balancing), kita coba untuk meningkatkan efisiensi lintasan yang nantinya berdampak pada peningkatan kapasitas produksi dan juga akan menurunkan LVC. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan, dengan kondisi lintasan yang semakin seimbang, efisiensi lintasan pun meningkat dari 88,41% menjadi 97,96%. Perubahan efisiensi ini, berimbas pada kapasitas produksi yang juga ikut bertambah sebesar 9,23%. Dengan naiknya kapasitas produksi sebesar 9,23%, berdampak pula pada penurunan LVC dari 126% (waktu kerja 3 shift + 4 Sabtu + 4Minggu), menjadi 119% (waktu kerja 3 shift + 4 Sabtu), kapasitas produksi meningkat 6 unit/jam, total keuntungan perusahaan bertambah sebesar Rp.9.179.160.000.-

Abstract

“The Indian Army” is clothing camouflage used by one of mass organization in Indonesia. It has a different function than TNI camouflage’s nevertheless must passed from The SNI examination. They are thirdteen standard qualifications must be passed. Those are the wight of cloth (SNI ISO 3801 : 2010) 238.4 g/m2, the cloth construction (SNI ISO 7211-2:2010) the total of warp is 42.8 yarn/cm and woof is 24.4 yarn/cm, The yarn number of warp and woof (SNI ISO 7211-5:2010) Ne1 40.2/2 and Ne1 15, The plaiting (SNI ISO 7211-1:2010) is plat/ribstop, The stress-strain of cloth (SNI 0276:2009) (the stress of warp is 42.8 kgs and woof direction is 26.42 kgs and the strain of warp is 23,71 % and woof is 12,20 % ), The strengthness to a torn piece of cloth (SNI ISO 13937-1:2013) for the warp direction is 4,490 gms dan woof is 3,250 gms, The composition of cloth (SNI 08-0265 : 1989) the cotton is 60.2 % and the polyester is 39.8 %, Colourfastness to washing (SNI ISO 105-C06:2010) is 4 GS/SS, to crocking (SNI 0288 : 2008) is 2-3 in wet and 3-4 in dry crocking, to sweat (SNI ISO 105-E04 : 2010) is 4, Light (SNI 08-0289:1996) is 4 for BWS and catagory of dyestuff (SNI 08-0519:1989) is the dispers dyes and (SNI 08-0621:1989) is the vat dyes. “The Indian Army” passed on the twelve of standards except one that is SNI 0288:2008 (the colourfastness to crocking). The conclution that the Indian Army is not accepted yet
