Al Munir Journal of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting is open access and peer review of journals published by the Communication and Islamic Broadcasting Study Program of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, Imam Bonjol Padang State Islamic University (UIN). This journal covers actual issues in Islamic communication studies, including the development of contemporary da'wah by utilizing media, Islamic information systems, rhetoric, literature, and government policies regarding broadcasting and information regulation. The purpose of this journal is to promote sharing of knowledge and understanding of communication issues. Then receive contributions from experts, researchers, practitioners and policy makers throughout the world. This journal is published periodically twice a year, precisely in January - June and July - December.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the construction of nationalism values in song lyrics. A song must have a message to be conveyed by the creator who then has a match between the meaning of the song lyrics and the reality. This study uses a semiotic analysis of Ferdinand De Saussure, the object of his research is a song lyric which is analyzed by each verse. In this analysis the steps taken are (1) determining the sign of the song lyrics that represent the object of research (2) writing a marker (signifier) or physical form, namely the lyrics of 'Menoleh' by Pandji Pragiwaksono (3) writing a sign that is the concept of markers (4) sees between signs, forms of signs, concepts of signs with social reality. This study explains the values of nationalism formed into a song lyrics and then uploaded into a song that is pitched and becomes a work that can be enjoyed. The work has the values of the struggle of the heroes and the young generation today must continue the struggle for the advancement of the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of PKH Partners as the spearhead of the government in changing the behavior of poor families thus they can get out of poverty. This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication carried out by PKH Partners to KPM and obstacles in implementing of interpersonal communication. The theory used was the Source Credibility Theory proposed by Hovland, Janis and Kelley. The approach of this research is descriptive qualitative.The results showed that interpersonal communication carried out by PKH Partners were applied in activities of compulsory P2K2 meeting, home visits and visits to relevant agencies by using face to face dialogue through verbal and non verbal communication. Verbal communication is done verbally by PKH Partners as a communicator to KPM as the communicant through discussion and question and answer, and non-verbal communication in the form of a touch specifically made for the disabled and elderly. The nature of the relationship between PKH Partners and KPM is interdependence because each party has the obligation to accompany and be accompanied, if not the aid fund is deferred. PKH Partners and KPM communicate actively at each meeting until all the required information has been obtained and KPM has interpreted all the messages conveyed. The message conveyed in connection with improving the quality of life of KPM families and PKH Partners did not use the media because communication was done face-to-face. To create effective communication The PKH Partners an openness attitude, motivation, sympathy and empathy as well as equality, and the attitude that shown by PKH Partners creates a sense of confidence of KPM thus the message delivered by PKH Partners received and implemented well by KPM. Meanwhile the barriers of interpersonal communication that done by PKH Partners were, limited knowledge, generation differences and physical limitations

Abstract

Da'wah through social media can either be read by users anywhere and anytime as long as it is connected to the internet network or be shared by users more widely to other users. The problem in this study was how da'i used social media, what contents were included in social media, and what were the considerations used by him/her in posting contents. This research method was qualitative to obtain data on how da'i used social media in dakwah and to obtain data about the considerations of da’i in posting content on social media. Meanwhile, to obtain data about the content posted by da'i, the content analysis method was used. The subjects of this research were da’i who preach in Padang who actively and regularly used social media in their dakwah. The findings of this study indicated that the way da’i used social media was commonly done independently and some were assisted by their team. Apart from that, da'i posted religious content on their Facebook and some also created a closed Facebook group. Content shared by da'i on social media about tauheed, worships and muamalah in the form of social criticism, tausiah, motivation, invitations, and sayings. Meanwhile, the da'i considerations in posting religious content in order to address issues that develop in society by answering netizens’ questions on social media, and took their own initiative and to provide enlightenment.

Abstract

The concept of Work-Family is now no stranger to the general public. Work- family is a concept of family who must fulfill the roles that must be carried out as a family and work activities. When parents are preoccupied with they work, they also need to take time to accompany their children to listen to complaints or stories of their children's daily life. In this study, researchers want to know how the role of communication in working families, how the response of a child who has working parents, and see what conflicts occur in the working family. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The results of this study indicate that the communication that exists between the child and both parents who work runs smoothly. Parents always try to take the time to talk about their daily activities. However, it does not always run smoothly, sometimes a strain based conflict also arises, where fathers and mothers are too focused on their work. Child feels the reduced attention from the parents. In this case the role of communication is needed to discuss each other's desires (children and parents). In addition, the role of communication is needed to show the concern and affection among each family member.

Abstract

The family is the closest environment to teenagers, where the family is the first place for teenagers to socialize outside the home. Whereas adolescents are the most transitional period that can influence their teenage sexual behaviour. . Where there are currently many sections that occur during adulthood. This research was conducted with qualitative methods, namely in-depth interviews and observations, conclusions can be obtained. The results of this study discuss the communication between parents and children is the most important thing for children who are victims of sexual violence, besides religious education, early sexual understanding and moral are also very much needed in establishing communication within a family.

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative method, with a descriptive approach. This study tried to obtain data in the form of written or oral words from several informants. The pattern of communication that occurs in the general bureau of the Governor's Office of West Suimatera Province is the Linear communication pattern, because in this pattern communicators and communicants face to face or the occurrence of feedback. Communication between superiors and subordinates in the public bureau by way of face to face. But not only face to face, but also done through non-electronic media such as letters, bulletin boards and so on or electronic media such as e-mail, whatshap, telephone and so on. The results showed that in the general bureau of the governor's office in the province of West Sumatra, the communication pattern was effective. In the public bureau, if there is a conflict between fellow subordinates, then the boss's way of resolving the problem is by asking for food.

Abstract

The advancement of technological inventions has made a lot of works become computerized. Various jobs have changed into new models that require workers must have computer skills or basic of computer operations. Therefore, colleges as the highest education are responsible to ensure the computer skills of its alumni to be ready in competing with others in the workplace. Through a quantitative approach, this study tried to see the level of college students' computer mastery of Da'wah and Communication faculty at UIN Imam Bonjo Padangl. By involving 90 samples of college students in the faculty, it was found that the level of students' computer mastery was on medium category. Meanwhile, the level of students' office application mastery had various findings. For the level of students' mastery on Microsoft Word and Power point, it was on medium category. But, for students' office application mastery on Microsoft Excel was on low category.

Abstract

As a new medium, the Lapor application has a platform that can have implications for the culture of communication of its users. Users of the Report application can easily provide their aspirations and complaints and get the clear information needed. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The technique used in data collection uses observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used is symbolic interaction theory and cultural norm theory. Where the theory of symbolic interaction states that humans interact with each other and act on the meaning that is obtained from the results of social interactions conducted with others, namely by using the media report to get the desired information. Meanwhile, according to the theory of cultural norms, the Report media used by users gives new impressions and beliefs to users of the Report application and can change the prevailing norms and create a new culture of communication using the Report application.

Abstract

SMK Pelita 2 Bandung is a private school in Indonesia, West Java. SMK Pelita 2 Bandung managed to cooperate together with the business world/world industry. In building relationships with the business world/Industrial World SMK Pelita 2 not only works just like other SMK. Appropriate marketing communication strategy is required therein. Therefore, SMK Pelita 2 Bandung implements integrated marketing communication in communicating and building relationships. The purpose of this research is to know the marketing communication strategy conducted by SMK Pelita 2 Bandung in establishing a relationship with the world of business/world. The study uses qualitative descriptive research methods with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The theory used in this study was the integrated marketing theory of Communists. The results of this research is an integrated marketing communication instrument into a strategy used by SMK Pelita 2 Bandung in building relationships with the business world/industrial world. The marketing instruments are sales promotion, direct marketing, Public relations & Publicity, and personal sales. The process of marketing communication that SMK traversed varies according to the integrated Marketing communication instrument. Marketing communication strategy applied by SMK Pelita 2 Bandung shows success in building relationships with the business world/industrial world.
