Abstract

Current technological developments generally use sophisticated equipment which is categorized as a non-linear load. The massive use of non-linear loads causes side effects on the quality of electric power. Electric power systems that are connected to non-linear loads will experience distortion in current and voltage by harmonics due to the engineering of voltage waveforms due to the installation of many converters operating at frequencies that do not match the utility frequency of 50 or 60 Hz. Taking into account the great benefits for humans, the use of non-linear loads cannot be reduced but can be applied by keeping non-linear loads operating with good quality electric power. Therefore, harmonic filter equipment is needed to reduce harmonics. Passive filters and active filters can be used where active filters have many advantages compared to passive filters because they can adjust to varying working frequencies. To obtain more optimal harmonic reduction results, an active filter Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) using a PI controller tuned with the Gray Wolf Optimizer (GWO) optimization method is designed. The SAPF PI-PSO method is used as a comparison. The SAPF experiment on the IEEE 14 bus test system, PSO obtained better ITAE error results and computation time than GWO. The ITAE value and PSO computing time were 108.5821 second and 4255.097192 second, respectively, while GWO obtained 109.0172 second and 4379.461 second. However, the GWO-tuned SAPF is more able to reduce the THD of the 12 bus current on the IEEE 14 bus system by 13%.

Abstract

Internet technology has changed the face of world communication, which has long been dominated by non-computer digital devices, into global computer communications. This condition is considered to have good implications for the digital economy. However, the uneven distribution of the internet so that some districts are not covered by the internet network is a problem to support the existence of a Digital Village.. The research method used consists of several stages, including; define literature study, determine data, determine problems, data preparation, data warehouse, exploration of BI power, data visualization and implementation. The factor causing the lack of optimization of the use of the Digides Application is due to the lack of distribution of BTS and internet access in the city of West Java. The attitude and policies issued by the government towards the law governing the equitable distribution of quality village growth development in Law no. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages has provided Legal Standing and a strategic foundation for the development and empowerment of rural communities, towards independent and prosperous villages.

Abstract

PLTU Teluk Balikpapan with a 2 x 110 MW capacity generated fly ash and bottom ash as its waste. The waste was treated by backfilling on open land or called a landfill. The landfill was not effective because it required a large area to accommodate the waste. This research aimed to analyze waste treatment's environmental impact and identify the best scenario from three fly ash and bottom ash treatment options. The first scenario was the existing treatment that used landfill, the second was utilization into paving blocks, and the third was utilization into compost. The method in this research used Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method. The LCA stages referred to ISO 14040 of 2006 which consists of objectives and scope, inventory analysis, impact analysis, and interpretation. The results of the analysis of the contribution of impacts on the environment with Scenario 1 obtained three impacts with the highest value, namely natural land transformation with a value of 15.8 then climate change with a value of 9.5, and particulate matter formation with a value of 6.8. Furthermore, the calculation shows that the best scenario for fly ash and bottom ash waste treatment was scenario 3: processing into compost.

Abstract

Disposal of wastewater originating from domestic and industrial activities into water bodies can cause environmental pollution if the quality of the wastewater does not meet wastewater quality standard. Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), is a campus that supports the ¬eco-campus program. One of the eco-campus criteria is wastewater treatment. Therefore, in this study the amount of greywater wastewater from the sink of Building B ITK and the quantity of pH, TSS and phosphate parameters will be studied using the sampling method and sampling test according to SNI, to then formulate the treatment. In the preliminary research it was found that the pH level was 7.04 when tested immediately, and decreased to 5.81 when the sample was left for two days. The TSS level was 0 mg/L and the phosphate level was in the 0,080 mg/L to 0,0807 mg/L. All three parameters are still below the quality standard. Therefore, the greywater from the sink waste in Building B ITK can be processed to be utilized directly without treatment but not for potable.
