Abstract

Goong Gede art communicates the old history of the ancestors of the people. The event is the belief manifestation toward the relationship from the past until the present and the future. The belief forms the basis of the people’s expressions to ward the phenomena in the socio cultural surrounding by obeying the customary rules in Citorek village either related to the agricultural or daily life maters. The values convinced by the people become the media of the sociocultural and the environment conservation of the society. The conservation of Goong Gede is the manifestation of identity protection of surrounding culture from the e?ect of globalization. Abstract

WPAP existence or Wedha Pop Art Portrait is now a role model new fl ow fan in art, especially the fi eld of fi ne arts in Indonesia. Community of fans and followers WPAP illustration style more and more, the role of computer graphics helped it easier for people to learn and make this pop art works. In making the work of a person is not prosecuted WPAP adept at drawing, because the source stems from the photo-tracing process then do faceting-coloring, then the picture is processed through Digital Imaging will change into a new form, especially in skin coloring, but still retaining the essence of the object. WPAP is a result of the creativity in the fi eld of art developed by modern artists Indonesia Wedha Abdul Rashid. This paper provides background on the study of the creation and the journey of creativity Wedha as the inventor WPAP style. The method used is descriptive analytical data collection techniques acquired through the study of literature and data from the electronic media. Abstract

Advertising as it faces a state of society, can be understood as an easy way to get to know in brief social identity. With a variety of a!ributes imposed in an ad, then the level of maturity, life style as well as the vision of a society can be portrayed. Commercial advertising Panin Bank offers ease in all types of banking transactions, which raises the need for new base. While advertisement designed by DompetDhuafa offers the easy way how to do the belief in Islam, and this is the ultimate key of all religious advertising of Dompet Dhuafa. Abstract

Penelitian “Dongeng Andi Yudha yang berjudul “Siasat Seru Monyet. Elang dan Rusa”, menggunakan metoda deskriptif kualitatif, dan landasan teori yang dikemukakan oleh walter Fisher. Tulisan ini bertujuan analisa pembuktian terhadap teori tersebut yakni apakah orang lebih tertarik terhadap terhadap narasi (cerita) dari pada argumen yang baik; Apakah benar bahwa manusia adalah pendongeng alami atau homo naran,  bahwa cerita yang baik dan menyentuh, akan mendapatkan  perhatian lebih dari pendengar. Dengan metoda penelitian yang digunakan, dan pembuktian dengan teori yang digunakan, baik secara verbal maupun non verbal Gaya Dongeng Andi Yudha tentang  Dongeng Seru Siasat Monyet, Elang dan Rusa, memiliki nilai edukasi yang baik untuk anak-anak yang menjadi pendengarnya. Dengan alasan tersebut maka, masyarakat diharapkan dapat memahami pentingnya Dongeng. Kata kunci :Analisis Naratif, Story illustrator, Dongeng, Gambar

Abstract

The motif of Batik Kawung is being used as aesthetic elements at Pullman Hotel Lobby in Central Jakarta. It is a part of interior design applied in not only cloth materials. The hotel lobby is a public sphere visited by heterogeneous guests from various social classes. This is a qualitative method with semiotic approach. The data are from informants regarding with batik, as well as from archive anddocuments. The collection of data is conducted through interview and observation. The result shows that there are some motifs of batik kawung that cannot be applied exactly as they are since they have their own symbolic meaning. Abstract

Cokek dance as one of the Betawi arts has experienced dynamic as other arts. The dynamics lies in the presentation of cokek dance performances and cokek dance role today is more used as a foothold by most choreographer to create a new dance work creations were also relatively preferred Betawi community than its role as entertainment at weddings. Allegedly it happens because now the art of thetaste and values prevailing in society. Qualitative research methods with the Theory of Phenomenology is used to examine the phenomenon. Abstract

This study is based on qualitative research with critical discourse analysis approach. The study presents the text of the fi lm as micro level of semiotic analysis. The purpose of the study is to uncover the ideology of Garin Nugroho fi lms which apply high aesthetic and anthropology construction of an exotic Indonesian culture. The result shows that the ideology resistance manifested in the fi lm of “Daun di Atas Bantal” is the philosophy reconstruction of art democratization as the power to suppress the regime of Suharto and the new order. “Opera jawa” fi lm is the reconstruction of gender philosophy and Java femininity as well as the philosophy of the nature cosmology in the perspective of moderate Hindu Islam in presenting the greediness of human in the system of the nature ecology. The fi lm of ‘Mata tertutup’ is the philosophy reconstruction of moderate Islam to counter the power of radicalism and terrorism as the concept developed and related to the tenacity of nationalism system of the young generation in Indonesia. “Soegija” fi lm is the reconstruction of Christology philosophy and the values of minority leadership in the nationhood and statehood. The fi lm of “Tjokroaminoto Guru Bangsa” is the reconstruction of Islam philosophy to view the humanism values in the establishment of the foundation of the nation as a moderate view.Keywords: film ideology, Garin Nugroho, Indonesian-ism

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explain differences in musical tastes in upper social class. The study also describes the relationship between musical tastes with the political groups in the community of Indonesia in Sukarno era. As a conceptual basis, we use the views of Bourdieu about habitus, arenas, andcultural capital. Also used a conceptual view of the Schuessler relationship of musical tastes and ages.This case study concludes that the old group closed with the development of new music tends to assume the old music as the best. On the other side, the young man open to the development of new types of music. Besides, the differences in musical tastes of young and old groups lead to a clash between them. Differences in their taste of music creates an identity as a differentiator between them, resulting in a process of political groups in it.Keywords: musical tastes, political group, age and identity

Abstract

2D Animation flm of Bali folktale “Bawang and Kesuna” tells about two sisters, Bawang and Kesuna. Bawang is a girl who is lazy, jealousy, and sly. Meanwhile, Kesuna is a kind, calm, honest, and hardworking girl. The folktale is from Sengkidu village, Karangasem. The paper is aimed to reveal the aesthetics of 2D “Bawang and Kesuna” flm approached by Djelantik Aesthetic theory. It discusses the form and structure, the mood, idea and message, as well as the presentation. The study applies qualitative method. The data are collected from interview and documentation of related literatures. The result shows that the form comprises illustration, typography, and colour, meanwhile the structure applies flm structure, namely shot, scene, and sequence. The mood shares village atmosphere giving traditional impression shown from the accessories of costumes and buildings. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the function and traditional values of hajat lembur in the life tatar Karang Priangan society. The research method used is an ethnographic study. The result shows that the transfer of knowledge on how to care for nature and how humans communicate with the universe, namely the harmonization of culture and religion, become a collective identityin this ethics of life. Hajat lembur tradition is a media culture and local wisdom in controlling the people’s lives. The external perception which is not in harmony with the traditions is thought to be one of the causes of disharmony. It is concluded that the tradition of hajat lembur in tatar Karang Priangan is a reality of the transfer of knowledge which is structured by considering local ethics andaesthetics.Keywords: hajat lembur, tatar Karang Priangan, transfer of knowledge, local wisdom
