Abstract

Fiberglass merupakan bahan paduan atau campuran beberapa bahan kimia (bahan komposit) yang terdiri dari cairan resin (water glass), katalis, kalsium karbonat, met atau matt, cobalt blue, dan wax (mold release) yang bereaksi dan mengeras dalam waktu tertentu, kekuatannya tinggi, elastis, dan tahan terhadap temperatur tinggi, pada pembuatan ini menggunakan bahan antara lain, resin, katalis methyl ethyl ketone perokside, katalisator pemisah berjenis mirror dan serat gelas, penelitian ini adalah pembuatan produk automotif kenderaan roda dua metode pembuatan dengan menggunakan metode hand lay up dan cetakan dilakukan pada cetakan bagian atas produk automotif kenderaan roda dua. hasil yang diperoleh mudah dibentuk khususnya pada sisi yang sulit, komposisi campuran dan serat gelas menjadi lebih rata terhadap permukaan, proses finishing semakin mudah akibat permukaan produk hasil cetakan yang telah sempurna. Abstract

Plastic is a material that is widely used in daily life, because it has advantages such as strong, lightweight and stable. But the plastic on the market today are synthetic polymers made from petroleum are difficult to decompose in nature. Judging from the nature of the plastic constituent is composed of components of petroleum hydrocarbons, the plastic waste has the potential to be converted into fuel. The technique used to restore the plastic material is by breaking the carbon chains or polymers that become hydrocarbons. The purpose of the design tool processing waste plastics into fuel oilfired biomass is to design a waste treatment plant in the plastic to produce oil (fuel), making the design drawings of the equipment is planned, determine the materials to be used, make and assemble the apparatus according to the design the planned. In pyrolysis occurs tool decomposition process of organic compounds on the materials. This decomposition caused by the heating process without dealing directly with the air with little oxygen. Waste processing equipment plastic that will be planned to include the design of the combustion chamber, reactor design, pipeline design fence steam, design connecting pipe between the reactor and the pipe fence steam. Abstract

Increasing the life of the continuous casting machine causes a defect on the surface of the steel slab, it takes some corrective measures for the casting process, such as by redefining and updating the standard operating parameters that influence the casting process with a review of the surface defects. This research was conducted at the Division of Steel Slab Plant II PT. Krakatau Steel using casting machine kontiyu Low head machine with a straight mold, angle and transverse crack at grade steel slab 1A0804. The result showed the operating parameters are better at ≤ 1.30 casting speed <1.35 m/min and 250 <superheat ≤ 300 C. From these results it can be concluded that the standard operating parameters of continuous casting to casting speed of 1.4 m / min is important to be updated and superheat 300C can still be used Keywords : steel 1A0804, casting speed, superheat, angle crack, transverse crack

Abstract

Bahan bakar fosil merupakan sumber energi yang tidak dapat diperbarui sehingga akan mengakibatkan menipisnya cadangan bahan bakar fosil di dalam bumi.Berbagai solusi telah ditawarkan oleh para ilmuwan di dunia untuk mencari alternatif bahan bakar fosil.Briket adalah salah satu bahan bakar alternatif yang berbahan dasarnya berasal dari biomassa.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas dari briket batu bara campur limbah kulit kacang tanah dan tepung kanji sebagai perekat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan obyek penelitian adalah briket dengan menganalisis kerapatan (densitas),kadar air, kadar abu, ketangguhan dan nilai kalor. Data menggunakan metode deskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui kualitas briket batu bara campur limbah kulit kacang tanah dengan kerapatan tertinggi pada sampel (2.1) yaitu 0.99 gr/cm2, kadar air terendah pada sampel (1.1) yaitu 2.20%, kadar abu terendah pada sampel (1.1) yaitu 3.05%, ketangguhan tertinggi pada sampel (2.1) yaitu 1.52% dan nilai kalor tertinggi pada sampel (1.1) yaitu 5298.2 kal/gram.   Keywords: Biobriket, kulit kacang tanah, kualitas briket

Abstract

Electrical energy is one form of energy currently needed humans in everyday life. Projected load the higher the electrical energy requires the government to run the 10 thousand MW. Energy demand in Indonesia on average per year rose by 7%, while primary energy supply is only expected to increase by 2%. Thus, the development of energy sources other than oil and other fossil energy. Conserving energy is one important way to tackle the problem of energy, because the results can be felt in a relatively short time. Energy audit can help provide a picture of energy use, energy distribution, energy costs and energy conversion that eventually could be used to identify sources of energy waste. Teuku Umar University campus (UTU) Meulaboh has installed power with a load consisting of the installation of lighting, air conditioning in the room rector and academic faculty, computers and electrical machinery in several laboratories. In this study, carried out the process of energy audits to calculate the level of electrical energy use of a building or the main building on the campus of the University of Teuku Umar (UTU) Meulaboh, then the results were compared with existing standards for consideration to look for solutions saving energy use if the level of energy use exceeds existing standards. Implementation of research conducted at the University main campus Teuku Umar (UTU) Meulaboh based on pamasangan ampere meter used by each building. The study was conducted by taking the object amount of electrical energy consumption on campus and compared with a building area of energy use and multiplied by the occupancy rate of the building, resulting in a value Intensity Energy Consumption (IKE) will be compared with the standard IKE appropriate recommendation. Abstract

Lack of measuring instruments with high resolution, still leaving a hindrance in terms of weak magnetic field measurement. One method that can be done to measure the magnetic field is fluxgate method. Fluxgate working range sensor to detect magnetic fields ranging from 10-10 - 10-4 T both DC and AC. Fluxgate sensor has high sensitivity, stable to high temperatures, low power operation, small size, and resolution up to 10 pT. So the fluxgate sensor is suitable for measuring weak magnetic fields. Has performed characterization of magnetic sensors fluxgate configuration with 2 × (100/500/100). The sensitivity obtained at 1.8 V/μT and sensor resolution of 0.56 nT/mV. Absolute error obtained sensor maximum of 0.0334 μT with a relative error of 0.85%.  Keywords: Fluxgate, sensitivity, resolution, a weak magnetic field

Abstract

Research purposes to add practical tool for students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering , University of Teuku Umar . especially for the practice of subjects Physical Metallurgy , engineering design is done with the steps: a literature study , design , manufacture and testing based on ASTM A 255-02 . Results frame design with dimensions of 175x100x100 cm , 56cmx6cmx5 mm specimen holder with a hole diameter of 26.5 mm , water tank diameter of 56 cm and a height of 45 cm , an electric pump with a rotation of 2850 rpm . Testing test equipment using specimens ASTM A 255-02 . Abstract

Cessna 172 aircraft type is the type of aircraft being used as a learning tool for novice aviators who has how many components it needs to do maintenance and repair, such as propeller (propeller). This is done so that the plane was in decent condition wear or fly. It is therefore necessary to make a repair or maintenance procedure the components of the aircraft Cessna 172 and the settlement of the problems found during the treatment and repair the aircraft. Examination of the propeller generally has a certain interval, for example 25; 50; or 100 hours, including Blade, spinner and other applications, which aims to see the excess oil; section blade and hub to investigate blade damage, spinner and hub to check for scratches or other defects.
