Abstract

The purpose of this study was to formulate a strategy in the development of tourism based on creative economy in Ajibata Subdistrict, Toba Samosir Regency, especially in the two tourist villages of Parsaoran Sibisa Village and Sigapiton Village. This research will provide solutions and strategies to improve the economy of the local community, considering that Lake Toba is one of the strategic areas for national tourism. With the existence of the policy formulation, it is expected to be able to boost the income of the community around the middle to lower economic groups, bearing in mind the majority community as farmers and gardeners. The Research methods is descriptive using qualitative analysis. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques with the government of Toba Samosir Regency such as sub-district heads, village heads, tourism agencies, business operators, surrounding communities and tourist attractions. Data collection is also done by observation and documentation. Analysis techniques are performed using Interactive Analysis where the data collected is then reduced, presented data and draws conclusions. It is expected that with this research able to contribute and input in the development of creative economy-based tourism that is able to integrate the natural beauty, culture, culinary and local products in Toba Samosir Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leadership and reward systems on Employee Performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. With a sample of 70 respondents. The tool used is a questionnaire. The results of this study are that leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The reward system has significant and significant effect on employee performance, leadership and reward systems have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and leadership, reward systems and job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. With the value of t calculated for leadership variable 2,278 and reward system 3,117 while for job satisfaction as mediation has a value of t count equal to there is a value of 1,994 which means that the value of t count has ?Sig? <0,05. R Square of 0.433, means that variations in employee performance can be explained by variations in leadership, reward systems and job satisfaction by 43.3% and the rest explained by other variations not examined.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how efforts that can increase the income of the community through empowerment for the village community Mariah Hombang Huta Bayu Raja district. The problem of this research is to know what business needs to be done to increase people's income by utilizing spare time to increase the income of farmers and their families. Various efforts that can be done are: 1) Distributors of community production by involving the community as a social entrepreneur, 2) Empowering the community as human resources by conducting education and training, 3) Moving social action with a container of village organizations that can provide motivation for the spirit of coorporation. With the program by utilizing the Village Fund is expected to empower people in increasing revenue can be achieved and provide motivation for other villagers. Government programs in fostering village financial institutions or BUMDes will be achieved if the people of Mariah Hombang village get the support of local government of Simalungun regency in terms of capital and human resources improvement.

Abstract

Bina Siswa is a non-formal Tutoring service for primary school, junior high school and senior high school. Its address is at Belitung street number 22 Bandung. It was founded in May 2013, which previously was just a private course. The high learning interest of the students in Bandung gives positive impact to Bina Siswa institution, so every month Bina siswa always earns profit from this education business. After running for three years, the revenue of this business was relatively similar year by year, which is approximately IDR 20 million to 25 million every month. Because of that, the writer proposes a business strategy planning and implementation. By using PEST analysis, Porter's five forces, and competitor analysis, it’s known that Bina Siswa has several threats and opportunities of the external business environment. In internal analysis Bina Siswa use value chain analysis and existing business model canvas it’s known that Bina Siswa has Strengths and weakness. The results of the internal analysis and external analysis are used to build Strategy Formulation consists of Company Strategic and Functional Strategy. The best alternative proposed to Bina Siswa is growth strategy which concentrates in horizontal growth. The functional strategy of the company is developed by TOWS matrix, and implemented in several functional divisions. The implementation is formulated in short term strategy, medium term strategy, and long term strategy. This strategy planning is also included with schedules, action plans, budgeting, and the appointment of person in charge (PIC).

Abstract

This study deals to find out how far the skill of finance & banking students in writing descriptive text. This research was designed as descriptive quantitative research and it was conducted at Indonesian Business Polytechnic which is located in Sriwijaya Street. The number of sample in this research was 25 students which were taken from finance and banking students grade two. In this research, the researcher used writing test as the instrumentation of the research where the students were asked to write a descriptive text based on the topics given to them. In analyzing the students’ writing score, the researcher found that there were 3 students got score in range 85-100 and it can be classified into the excellent level (12%). Then, the researcher found that there were 12 students got score in range 70-84 and it can be classified into the good level (48%). The researcher also found that there were 5 students got score in range 55-69 and it can be classified into the fair level (20 %). Then, the researcher found that there were 3 student got score in range 50-54 and it can be classified into the poor level (12%). Then the last, there are 2 students got score on range 0-49 and it canbe classified into the very poor level (18%). The average score for students’ writing skill in descriptive text in this research was 69.52 and it can be categorized as Fair level. So, it can be concluded that the students writing skill in descriptive text at second grade of finance & banking students Indonesian Business Polytechnic Murni Sadar was in fair level.

Abstract

One of the spearheads of the local government system is the village government which consists of village officials that work together and touch each other and deal directly with the community. This research was conducted in the village of Parsaoran Sibisa, Ajibata District, Toba Samosir Regency. The background of this research is that the village of Parsaoran Sibisa is one of the priority areas for research where there are differences in productivity of coffee yields in the villages of Parsaoran Sibisa and Motung where the coffee yields of Motung Village are much better and the villagers are able to process coffee and marketing coffee yields well while the village of Parsaoran Sibisa has not been able to even though the two villages are still one district. This study aims to determine and analyze the role of the Village Apparatus in an effort to increase the income of coffee farmers who are approximately 75% of the total population of Parsaoran Sibisa village are farmers coffee as well as knowing the factors that drive and hinder village officials in empowering the community in the village of Parsaoran Sibisa, Ajibata District, Toba Samosir Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of career development on employee performance, to find out how the effect of remuneration on employee performance, to find out how the influence of career development and remuneration simultaneously on employee performance. The method used is the survey method and data collection carried out through observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale as a measuring device. The study was conducted at the Revenue Service Office of North Sumatra Province UPT Pematangsiantar, the sample in this study amounted to 36 employees, the data analysis technique used was multiple linear analysis techniques. The results of the research obtained are career development and remuneration variables simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with Fcount> Ftable (15,170> 3,230), the partial return variable has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a tcount value> table (2,416> 2,021), partial career development variable has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a value of tcount> ttable (2,094> 2,021), R square value of 0,479, this indicates that 47.90% of career development variables and remuneration are simultaneous effect on the performance of employees in the Revenue Service of North Sumatra Province UPT. Pematangsiantar, while the remaining 52.10% influenced by other variables not examined

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of motivation on the work performance of lecturers, to determine the influence of self-development of lecturer work performance, and to know simultaneously the influence of motivation and self-development of the lecturer's work performance. The result of this research is the variable of motivation and self development together have positive and significant influence to the work performance of lecturer can be shown with the value of F> F table (39 387> 3.320), the variable of self development partially have positive and significant effect to the performance of lecturer, with t count> t table (6,409> 1697), the variable of motivation partially positive and significant effect on the work performance of lecturer with t arithmetic> t table (6953> 1697), R Square value in the above table is 0.738, it shows that 73,80% variable of work achievement of lecturer can be explained by the variable of motivation and self development, while the rest 26,20% is explained by other factors not examined.

Abstract

This thesis is about the students’ difficulties in using English intonation. To research this subject the writer formulates the problem as follow: What are the students’ difficulties in using English intonation? It focuses on the students’ intonation in reading a dialogue, which consists of positive statement, negative statement, w-h question, and yes-no question.To answer the problem above, this thesis follows some theories, namely: Allen (1954), Haycraft (1971), Jones (1979), and Roach (2000). The research design is qualitative research. The subjects of this study are the students of Business Indonesia Murni Sadar Polytechnic, and the object is the student’s intonation. The technique of collecting data follows audio method or what is called recorded voice data. The data is analyzed by drawing the terminal contour of students’ intonation.This research discovers that there are four difficulties of students in using English intonation, namely: (1). difficulty in using correct juncture, (2). difficulty in using rising intonation for the first clause and falling intonation for the second clause in a compound sentence, (3). difficulty in using falling intonation for w-h question and rising intonation for yes-no question, and (4). difficulty in determining pitch and stress of a syllable. This research finding recommends both teacher and students to take responsibility in overcoming those difficulties. An English teacher should teach his beginner students the using of intonation and its function in every kinds of sentence. Since there is an imitation process in learning intonation, a teacher should be able to detect a falling intonation from a rising intonation in his own voice as well as in a student’s. The success of learning does not only depend on the teacher but also involves the students’ awareness to learn English.

Abstract

Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) yang bekerja sebagai abdi negara memiliki tugas serta tanggung jawab yang penting bagi organisasi. Peran para pegawai yang bekerja dalam organisasi pemerintah sangat menentukan berhasil tidaknya mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Selain itu, keberhasilan suatu organisasi juga dipengaruhi oleh ketulusan dan kemauan dari setiap pegawai dalam melaksanakan serta menyelesaikan tugasnya. Sumber daya manusia merupakan harta atau aset yang paling berharga dan paling penting bagi suatu organisasi atau perusahaan, karena keberhasilan organisasi sangat ditentukan oleh unsur manusia. Sikap perubahan menuntut setiap organisasi dan perusahaan untuk bersikap lebih responsif agar sanggup bertahan dan terus berkembang. Untuk mendukung perubahan organisasi tersebut, maka diperlukan adanya perubahan individu. Proses menyelaraskan perubahan organisasi dengan perubahan individu ini tidaklah mudah. Pemimpin sebagai panutan dalam organisasi, sehingga perubahan harus dimulai dari tingkat yang paling atas yaitu pemimpin itu sendiri. Maka dari itu, organisasi memerlukan pemimpin reformis yang mampu menjadi motor penggerak yang mendorong perubahan organisasi. tantangan dalam mengembangkan kepuasan kerja pegawai yang jelas terutama terletak pada komitmen pegawai di satu sisi dan tergantung pada kepemimpinan yang ada pada organisasi tersebut. Begitu pentingnya peran kepemimpinan dan komitmen pegawai dalam sebuah organisasi menjadi fokus yang menarik perhatian para peneliti bidang perilaku keorganisasian.
