Abstract

Basic Competence (BC) is a minimum students’ achievement after learning process. Most of the BC in the 2017 revised Indonesian curriculum requires students to have higher order thinking skills (HOTS), therefore teachers have to prepare assessment instruments referring HOTS. However, there are still many teachers who misperceive HOTS and think that HOTS is a difficult problem. This causes the teacher’s understanding of HOTS questions to be low. This study aims to describe chemistry teachers’ competence in evaluating HOTS of students. 19 teachers from 14 Senior High Schools was examined using structured essay test to figure out their ability and problems in compiling HOTS assessment instrument. The data collected was analysed using Miles Huberman methods starting with data reduction, data display and conclusion. Through this evaluation, it is known that only 10.53% of teachers comprehended HOTS and were able to apply it in evaluation, 57,89% of them understood the HOTS but weren’t able to apply in evaluation while 31,58% others didn’t know the comprehensive HOTS evaluation. This fact will certainly disrupt the planning, implementation and assessment of learning. Furthermore, the instrument compiled to assess higher order thinking skills based on BC does not measure expected abilities.

Abstract

The type of research used is research and development or Research and Development (R and D). The development model used is a 4-D model (four-D models) which consists of 4 stages, namely: define, design, develop and disseminate. This research is limited to the stage of development, namely the validity and practicality test. The research instrument used was a questionnaire of validity and practicality. The e-module was validated by 6 validators while the practicality test was carried out by 2 chemistry teachers and 20 XI grade students of MIPA SMAN 12 Padang and 20 XI grade students oh MIPA SMAN 2 Pariaman. Data from the validity and practicality test results were analyzed using the cohen kappa formula. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the average kappa moment of validity test was 0,87 with a very high validity category and the average kappa moment of teacher practicality was 0,88, students of SMAN 12 Padang were 0,87 and students of SMAN 2 Pariaman were 0,88 with a very high practicality category. Thus, it was concluded that acid base e-module based on discovery learning was produced for valid and practical high school students.

Abstract

This research aims to create and develop a game called halmakimia which can be used as a learning medium in the electron configuration material for class X MA or SMA. This study uses the type of Research and Development (R and D) with the 4D model. This model has 4 stages of research namely define, design, development, and disseminate. This study conducted a validity test and practicality test from the development stage. Halmakimia learning media is validated by 3 validators from the MAN 2 Bukittinggi chemistry teacher. The practicality questionnaire was filled by 33 student class X MAN 2 Bukittinggi and 2 chemistry teachers MAN 2 Bukittinggi. The results showed the validity test was 0.85 categorized very high. The kappa moment of 33 students MAN 2 Bukittinggi was 0.7 in the high practicality category, and MAN 2 Bukittinggi teachers were 0.83 in the very high category.

Abstract

This study aimed to produce a reaction rate e-module based on guided inquiry integrated virtual laboratory and practical use in senior high school chemistry learning. The type of this research was Research and Development and the development model used was the 4-D model which consists of four stages: (1) define, (2) design, (3) development, (4) disseminate. This research was limited to the validity and practicality test. The validity test was carried out by 6 experts and limited trials to reveal the practicality done at SMAN 12 Padang. The research instrument used was in the form of a validity and practicality questionnaire which was analyzed using kappa moment (k) Data analysis showed that the average moment of kappa content validity was 0.89 with a very high validity category, while the average moment of kappa technical validity was 0.83 with a very high validity category. The average practical kappa moments from teachers and students were respectively 0.82 and 0.91 with a very high practicality category. These results were also supported by the analysis of students answers in answering critical questions, exercises, prelab questions, postlab questions, and worksheets in modules, with an average value of 82.63 percent. It can be concluded that the developed reaction rate e-module based on guided inquiry integrated with virtual laboratory is valid and practice to used on a learning process.

Abstract

Carboxylic Acid and Esther in second semester of 3rd grade High School was transferred to first semester due to the student’s final exam, so the learning process was uneffective. Therefore it needs a 2013’s curriculum compatible teaching materials as carboxyl acid and esther student worksheet which help students study independently. The aim of this research are to develop a PBL student worksheet and obtain its validity and practicality. The research using 4-D models: define, design, develop and disseminate, but the research was limited to develop stage. The research’s instrument are validity and practicality questionnaire given to lecturers, teachers and 3rd grade students. The results was analyzed by Kappa Cohen Formula and gets a very high category. The validity from lecturers and teachers get 0,87 point, teacher’s and student’s practicality get each 0,93 and 0,83 point.

Abstract

The basis of research problem is regarding facilities for literacy activities as well selection of learning models that are not appropriate and inadequate. Research conducted using quasi-experimental research methods with a type of randomized control design posttest group only design. Population samples were determined through random sampling techniques. Research measuring tools in the form of cognitive learning test results. Analysis of data concluded that hypothesis was accepted. In other words, application of the literacy strategy assisted by guided discovery learning model has significant effect on learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Core Competency 3 of  Curriculum 2013  12th Grade Senior High School (SMA), which are described based on Bloom’s taxonomic cognitive process dimensions and knowledge into several components. Core Competency 3 Analysis  is carried out to assist the process of compiling and matching the types of cognitive and knowledge that students must possess to achieve graduate competency. This research method is descriptive qualitative with literature study data collection techniques. After the data is collected, analysis of core competency 3 is carried out to see its suitability with  Bloom’s taxonomy revision based on cognitive and knowledge process dimensions. The results obtained in the form of KI-3 analysis components became 56 components, each component producing 14 components cognitive process dimension and 4 components knowledge dimension.

Abstract

This research aims to develop teaching materials in the form of e-modules that are valid and practical. The type of research used is research and development (R and D). The development model used is the 4-D model which includes 4 stages, namely the define, design, develop and disseminate. Research carried out until the development stage, namely the validity and practicality test. The instruments used were validity and practicality sheets. The e-module was validated by 6 validators, while the practicality test was conducted by 3 chemistry teachers and 30 students XI MIA 6 of SMAN 5 Padang. The results of the validity and practicality analysis showed a validity value of 0.840 with a very high category. The practicality value by students is 0.920 and the teacher is 0.841 with a very high category. Thus, e-module based on discovery learning on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials in class X SMA or MA is valid and practical.

Abstract

Atomic structure is an abstract topic and contains factual knowledge, conceptual and procedural knowledge. While learning this chapter, students have to exercise more often. The learning media that had developed it this study can be use as exercising media for atomic structure topic. This study used Research and Development type with 4-D model, they are (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, (4) Disseminate. This research was limited only in third step (Develop) with validity and practicality tests of “Scrabble Kimia” as the final product. Validity test carried out by two chemistry lectures and two chemistry teachers. Practicality test carried out by two chemistry teachers and 29 students of SMAN 1 Batang Anai. This research used quetionaries as research instrument. Data Analyzing was using Kappa Cohen formula. The result of this study indicated that “Scrabble Kimia” for Atomic Structure topic has very high category of validity with 0.82 momen Kappa value. Practicality test showed that this media has very high categories with 0.96 momen Kappa value by teachers and 0.81 momen Kappa value by students. In conclution, the “ Scrabble Kimia” can be used as a learning media for atomic structure topic with very high categories of validity and practicality

Abstract

The purpose of development research is to produce and analyse the validity and practicality of the guided discovery learning based on petroleum module for class XI SMA/MA. This research uses the Plomp development model. The validity test was conducted on 4 chemistry lecturers and 2 chemistry teachers. The practicality test was carried out by 2 chemists and 30 students of class XII SMA in 2019/2020. The research instrument used was a questionnaire of validity and practicality. The data obtained were analysed with Cohen’s kappa formula. From the result of study obtained an average value of kappa moments of module validity (0,89), module practicality by teachers (0,93) and module practicality by students (0,83). The data shows that the module is valid and practical for learning chemistry.
