Abstract

Curriculum 2013 equires learning to be able to improve students activeness and thinking skills. One effort that can be done is by giving probing prompting questions. This study aims to develop module of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions based on a scientific approach with each step containing probing prompting questions. The type of research used is R and D (Research and Development) through the stages of 4-D development model. The research phase carried out include 1) define phase, 2) design stage, 3) develop stage and disseminate stage. However, the research is limited to develop stage. The module developed was tested for validity and practicality through the provision of questionnaires and processed using Cohen kappa formula. Based on the results of the study of validity tests on 5 validators (2 lecturers and 3 teachers), the kappa moment was 0.86 with very high validity. Meanwhile, based on the practicality test conducted at SMAN 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung by 3 teachers and 29 students, each kappa moment was 0.89 and 0.86. This shows that the module of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions based on the scientific approach using probing prompting for grade X SMA or MA has been valid and practical to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study is research and development (R and D) and using 4-D models, but disseminate step is not done. Validation of student worksheets has been done by chemistry lecturers and chemistry teachers. The practicality of student worksheets has been done by chemistry teachers and students of 2nd grade of SMAN 1 Pariaman. The result showed that moment kappa average of validity was 0,83 with very high validity category and moment kappa average of practicality were 0,9 by chemistry teachers and 0,86 by students with very high category. Therefore student worksheets of molecular shape based on structured inquiry with emphasis on the submicroscopic level using 3-D models is valid and practice to be used on the chemistry learning.

Abstract

This study was aimed to develop a game called Scrabble Kimia as a learning media in Petroleum topic for senior high school grade XI. This study used the research and development (R and D)  type with the 4-D model. This 4-D model has four steps of research, they are define, design, develop, and disseminate. This study was limited only on validity and practicality tests. Data collecting was done by using questionnaires. Validity test used validation questionnaires by four experts, which is two chemistry lectures of the State University of Padang and two chemistry teachers of SMAN 1 Lengayang. Practicality test used practicality questionnaires by two chemistry teachers and 27 students of SMAN 1 Lengayang. Data analyzing used was kappa cohen formula. The result of this study showed that this media has 0,93 validity value with very high category of validity. The result of practicality by chemistry teachers has 0,88 practicality value with very high category of practicality, and practicality by students has 0,70 practicality value with high category of practicality. In conclusion, Scrabble Kimia that has been developed is valid and practice for using as a learning media in petroleum topic for senior high school grade XI.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare the student’s result study who learn using Guided Discovery models and Guided Inquiry models. The research sample is 2 classes XI Science in one of the high schools at SMAN 9 Padang, sample class 1 is the Guided Discovery model treatment and sample class 2 is with the Guided Inquiry model. The research design was Randomized Posttest-Only Comparison Controls Groups Design. The instrument in the study was the learning achievement test (posttest). The results of the study stated that: (1) learning outcomes with the Guided Discovery and Guided Inquiry models there were differences, but not significant. Evidenced by the averages student’s result study of the two classes that have a slight difference, namely sample class 1 (81.86) while sample class 2 (84.36). (2) The results of the statistical test of hypothesis testing with the t test (α = 0.05) obtained tcount = 0.65 and ttable = 1.99. The results show thats the Guided Discovery and Guided Inquiry models effectively improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

One effort that can be done to prepare SMA or MA students in entering the world of work is equipping them with the entrepreneurship skills, namely by integrating entrepreneurship into chemistry subjects through teaching materials in the form of modules. This study aims to reveal the level of validity and practicality of a CEP-oriented colloidal system module developed for class XI SMA or MA. The type of research used is Research and Development with 4-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The research instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of validity and practicality sheet. This module was validated by 3 UNP chemistry lectures and 2 chemistry teachers of SMAN 12 Padang. Practicality test were conducted on 2 chemistry teachers and 30 eleventh grade students of SMAN 12 Padang. Data was analyzed by Cohen Kappa Formula. The results of the validity test showed that the module has a very high validity category (kappa = 0.86). Practicality test results by teachers and students showed that the module has very high practicality category (kappa = 0.82 and 0.83). Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the module developed was valid, practical.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum is the latest curriculum used as a guideline for organizing learning activities to achieve educational goals. The fundamental change in the 2013 curriculum is that core competencies must be arranged in a balanced manner covering attitudes (spiritual and social), knowledge and skills. The purpose of this study is to describe the formula of KI-3 outlined based on the revised Bloom taxonomy. Taxonomy is used as one of the references in the preparation of KI-3 starting from the cognitive dimension and the lowest dimension of knowledge to the highest or complex level. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used by library research. The data source used is Permendikbud No. 37 of 2018. The formula KI-3 was analyzed based on knowledge activities, types of knowledge, and scientific attitudes. The results of the elaboration of KI-3 class XI SMA obtained 48 components of KI-3. The KI-3 component that has been described is used as a reference for the dimensions of cognitive processes and the dimensions of knowledge that must be achieved by students.

Abstract

An experimental research using the Children Learning In Science (CLIS) model has been conducted to figure out learning outcome. The research sample involved two classes with different learning model. The first class model used the CLIS model as experimental class while the second class model used the conventional model as a control class. Multiple choice questions were the research instrument to measure students achievement in cognitive aspect. The results showed that the average of the experimental class was 85,29 and the control class was 78,43. The study showed that the CLIS model has positive and significant influence on the student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a simple chemical practicum guide for acid-base materials, and deterine the level of validity and practicality of the practicum developed. This research includes research and development using the Plomp model. Plomp development model consists of several stage : preliminary or initial investigations, prototype stages and assessment stages. This research was validated by three chemistry lectures of FMIPA UNP and two chemistry teachers at SMAN 11 Solok Selatan. Analysis of research data obtained throught validation sheet. The result of validation have a kappa moment value of 0.84 and practicality value of 0.88 so, can be concluded that the guide developed is very valid and practical
