Abstract

This research aims to develop digital teaching materials, an E-book for the Introduction to Business course based on the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model. The development procedure of the Business Introduction E-book using PBL is adapted from the ADDIE development model. Media experts provided a total score for all assessment items of 57.5, with an average score of 3.83. Content experts gave an excellent rating, with a total score of 86 and an average score of 4.30. It can be concluded that the digital teaching material, an E-book based on PBL, is suitable for use in the Introduction to Business course. The student questionnaire responses yielded a percentage of 86.15% for the aspect of enjoyment, 83.15% for student interest in using the E-Book, 82.65% for the aspect of attention, and 87.45% for the aspect of student engagement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how students make mistakes when attempting to solve equality and inequality problems in trigonometry and algebra using the Newman method. A qualitative descriptive research methodology is employed in this study. Students enrolled in Manado State University's 2023–2024 Mathematics Education Study Program during their first semester served as the research subjects. Test and interview techniques are used in data collection. Three steps made up the data analysis in this study: reduction, data display, and data verification. Data analysis utilizing the Newman approach yielded the following conclusions: 5.6% encoding errors, 4.8% reading errors, 12% comprehension errors, 8.4% transformation errors, and 18.8% process skill errors were made when solving equation and inequality problems. The inability of pupils to comprehend the concept of the subject being explained, their lack of willingness to study, and their carelessness when reading and completing questions are the causes contributing to these blunders.

Abstract

The aim to be achieved through research is to see the effect of implementing the Malay Culture-based scientific inquiry learning model on increasing student interest in learning. This study employed a quantitative approach and included 55 students in their third semester, divided into two sample groups. The experimental class (Class A) consisted of 27 students, while the control class (Class B) comprised 28 students.. This research was conducted in the context of the Hydrology course. Data was collected through tests and analyzed using IBM SPSS 23. After implementing the scientific inquiry learning model based on Malay culture and conventional learning, the average pretest score for student interest in learning in the experimental class was 59.77 and after being given treatment using the scientific inquiry learning model, The student's posttest score was 80.55. The results of the independent sample-test showed a significant value of 0.000, where the value was <0.05. Thus, it can be deduced that the use of the Malay Culture-based scientific inquiry learning model has a positive impact in increasing students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Learning in the 21st century is different from learning in the past. Technological advances are growing rapidly in various areas of life, including education. With this change, it gives hope to be able to realize the nation's ideals (BNSP, 2010). The aim of this research is to see the effectiveness of using E-Comic in learning disaster mitigation material in classes XI IPS 1 and XI IPS II. The results of this research obtained an experimental pre-test score of 53.40, a post-test score of 87.10, while the control class had a pre-test score of 51.87 and a post-test score of 61.53. There was a significant increase in the Pre-Test and Posttest of the Control Experiment Class. This shows that E-Comic media can be used by educators as a learning medium in the process of learning activities at school to improve learning outcomes, increase student understanding and also be able to reduce student boredom if they only use the lecture method. Based on the response from educators, the E-Comic media developed in this research responded very well.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how teachers assess essay questions that contain elements of analysis and to find out students' answers to essay questions that contain analysis on the distribution and management of natural resources on 2013 curriculum. This research uses mixed research methods. The population in the study was all 11th grade of SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. The sampling technique in this research used a total sampling technique. The total population is 101 people, while the sample size is 101 people. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that some teachers do not understand how to assess essay questions that contain elements of analysis on material on the distribution and management of natural resources and that most students do not understand the answers to essay questions that contain analysis. This is based on the lack of complexity in the content of geographic concepts that can be linked in creating questions and answering essay questions that contain elements of analysis on the distribution and management of natural resources.

Abstract

This research addresses the inadequacy of existing teaching materials in elementary school mathematics, particularly in Medan, Indonesia, by proposing the development of a Comic-Based Local Wisdom of North Sumatra Media for Geometry Learning in Grade 5. Current materials lack a focus on local wisdom and fail to align with the diverse cultural context. The research utilizes a modified 5D model, involving (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Effectiveness Testing, and (5) Dissemination. The study emphasizes the importance of incorporating local traditions and cultural elements into teaching materials to enhance students' interest and understanding. The comic-based media integrates geometry concepts with North Sumatran culture, offering an alternative and engaging learning tool. The validation process involves content experts, media experts, and learning experts, all of whom declare the developed media highly suitable for instructional use. The locally-based wisdom comic media proves effective in making the learning process more engaging and facilitating students' comprehension, contributing to the improvement of mathematics education in elementary schools.
