Abstract

The scarcity and rising price of soybeans is a problem that the Indonesian government is very concerned about. The main reason for the increase in soybean prices is because soybean supplies from the United States are running low due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This problem is inseparable from the large portion of soybean imports in Indonesia. So far, domestic soybean production is still lacking and most of it is imported from foreign countries. The formulation of the problem is How is the Relationship between Local Soybean Processing During the Pandemic and Government Policies or Solutions Regarding Local Soybean Crops?. The research method carried out by the author is research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Qualitative research is research steps that are carried out descriptively in the form of written and unwritten words from the perpetrators, qualitative research focuses on aspects of quality, the value behind a fact. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the price of soybean imports to Indonesia reached US$1.48 billion in 2021. This value reached 47.77% from US$1 billion in 2020. The United States is still the largest soybean importer with a value of US$ 1.28 billion in 2021. This value is equivalent to 86.78% of the total soybean imports that enter Indonesia. Many efforts have been made by the government to reduce the dependence of the Indonesian people on imported soybeans and become a solution and overcome the increase in soybean prices that have suppressed tofu and tempeh craftsmen some time ago.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the high number of rice imports by Indonesia. The method used in this study uses description  research methods. Food diversification is an effort to invite people to diversify staple foods so that they are not focused on just one type. Diversification itself is closely related to food security, where this is an effort or effort to realize food security for Indonesia. Rice is biologically part of the rice seed which consists of an embryo which is a candidate for a new plant (in rice it cannot grow again, except with the help of tissue culture techniques). The content of rice itself consists of carbohydrates which are the main component in rice. The habits of the Indonesian people who cannot be separated from rice, make rice a crucial item that cannot be replaced. This fact makes Indonesia increasingly dependent on rice imports. The purpose of this research is to make efforts to implement food diversification so that it does not focus only on rice as the main food commodity.

Abstract

Bontot is a jelly product processed from ladyfish (Elops hawaiensis) which has the characteristics of a savory taste. The aim of this study was to identify the types of bacteria that cause damage on bontot ladyfish on different storage temperatures. Bontot used in this study came from three different processing which is then stored for 2 days at different storage temperatures namely: room temperature (27 - 30oC), cold temperature (5-10oC) and freezing temperature 0oC to -5oC. The result showed that the three isolates dominant with code FD.R1 isolates suspected to contain Streptococcus sp. group D. For ID.D3 code and KR.B1 suspected bacterial types Plesiomonas sp.

Abstract

The hydroponic system is still constrained by the high cost of AB mix nutrients. This study aimed to determine the effect of adding rabbit urine as Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) to the nutrient solution on the growth and yield of three varieties of pak choi (Brassica rapa L.) with a wick hydroponic system. The experiment used a split plot design for the main plot of LOF (K) which consisted of 3 levels, namely control (K0), mixture AB + 6 ml/l LOF (K1), and mixed AB + 12 ml/l LOF (K2), and sub plot of varieties (V) consisting of 3 levels, namely Nauli f1 (V1), Emone 26 (V2) and Green (V3). The results showed that increasing the concentration of LOF in rabbit urine in 12 ml/l nutrient solution did not have any significantly different result on the growth and yield of pak choi plants. However, Emone 26 varieties showed a very significant effect on growth and yield, with average values on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight, crown fresh weight and crown dry weight at 35 Days After Planting (DAP). 25.14 cm, 14.22 pieces, 94.69 g, 79.06 g, and 4.43 g, respectively. There was no interaction between the addition of LOF rabbit urine to the growth and yield of three varieties of pak choi on all parameters observed. Further research needs to be done on other hydroponic systems in order to obtain the right POC concentration to reduce the use of AB mix nutrients.
