Abstract

ABSTRACTIn this paper, we will discuss the importance of the people's economic power, especially rural areas in order to strengthen Indonesia‘s economic power. In a global system full of conflicts of interests each country will try to put forward capabilities in a complex relationship, including the desire to fulfill economic and political needs. One of the key indicators for a country to be classified as a developed or prosperous country, can be observed from how high its per capita income or how far a country manages to solve its poverty’s problem. This welfare’ measurement should not only be observed only in urban areas, but should also reach much wider areas, including the rural sectors. Ideally, it is not only observed by looking at urban areas, but should also cover all areas including the rural area. As an archipelago state, inequality in development has been the main problem in Indonesia, since it can be found that there are several regions which are more advanced in terms of development compared to the others. The government's willingness to introduce people’s economy in less developed areas is needed, by increasing economic cooperation with foreign investment or international markets. Besides, the government had to encourage regional stakeholders to increase their qualifications and capabilities. Since there are a lot of imported goods circulated in local market share, such as imported garlic, to prevent a food crisis in the midst of COVID-19 outbreak. Whether this condition is classified as a sign of deterioration in economic productivity and how far it affects people's economy, it will be discussed comprehensively in this paper.Key Words: People’s economic power, State Economic Power, Regions. Kata-Kata Kunci: Kekuatan ekonomi masyarakat, Kekuatan Ekonomi Negara, Daerah.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPoverty is an endless problem to be analyzed. Various policy formulas have been issued to reduce and alleviate poverty. One of the policies issued by Indonesian government is the minapolitan program that aims to develop economic zones to be more productive, so that the community is able to be independent. Sumenep Regency as one of the areas included in the development of the Minapolitan area provides benefits for the government and the community, especially those living in coastal areas. This is based on the still large number of poor people in coastal areas who only rely on income from the sea without making innovations related to the use of natural resources that exist around the coast. The development of the minapolitan area will be able to provide education to the community related to the production and utilization of marine products, especially seaweed cultivation in the village of Tanjung. This will ,then, have an impact on people's economic independence and reduce the amount of poverty in the coastal areas. Thus, the impacts that are in line with the success of seaweed cultivation through the minapolitan program will be able to assist regional economic development, especially if the cultivation program can be traded on the international market. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative research method with the aim of this study to determine the implementation and impact of the minapolitan program in Tanjung Village, Saronggi District. Kata-Kata Kunci : Pengembangan Ekonomi, Implementasi, Program Minapolita DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v8i02.2414

Abstract

ABSTRACTThere is a growing consensus that effective Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) policies, aimed at supporting long-term national structural transformation, are a crucial element in helping latecomer countries escape from the middle-income trap. Citing cases of Northeast Asian catch-up and Latin American middle-income traps, scholars emphasize that the key to catch-up is a triple-helix coordination that is used to transform foreign technology into indigenous technological capabilities. Thus, ideally, the expansion of the global production network, as promoted by the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), provides opportunities for middle-income ASEAN countries to implement this technology-driven industrial catch-up strategy. This paper investigates three middle-income ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia) to argue that the AEC, as an open market-led economic regionalism scheme, does not have the ability to create a strong sense of urgency on the part of national governments to alter their national STI policy directions. As resource-abundant countries, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia have yet to find any urgent need to prioritize the upgrading of indigenous manufacturing over natural resource-based technological developments. For these three countries, the AEC amplifies the need to compete against other ASEAN member countries instead pushing them to pursue industrial catch-up collectively. Keywords: economic regionalism, STI, industrial catch-up, ASEAN DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v7i02.1832

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe National Sword Policy implemented by the Chinese Government in 2018 has a spillover effect in several countries in the Asian region, especially Indonesia. As one of the importers of recycled paper waste, Indonesia is faced with the problem of hazardous waste from abroad, which has increased by two percent in 2018. Besides, Indonesia also does not have good waste management, which exacerbates environmental damage and pollution. some of them were experienced by Bangun and Tropodo Villages in East Java. The level of environmental pollution in Bangun and Tropodo Villages is quite high as a result of being used as a final disposal site for paper raw material waste mixed with foreign waste and hazardous toxic materials. As a result, environmental crises continue to occur and affect the quality of life of the people. This study analyzes the correlation between environmental crises which is directly proportional to the increasing threat to human security. The environmental crisis due to imported waste can turn into a security threat issue through the securitization process carried out by NGOs and the government. The author uses the concept of human security and securitization theory to see the causality relationship. In the end, the state is not only faced with traditional security problems that are territorial but problems of individual human security. Indonesia was forced to change several waste import policies. Keywords: Imported Waste, Environmental Crisis, Securitization, Human Security. Indonesia terpaksa mengubah beberapa kebijakan impor sampah.Kata kunci: Sampah Impor, Krisis Lingkungan Hidup, Sekuritisasi, Keamanan Manusia. DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v8i02.2415

ABSTRACTInnovations of the learning module are needed to cover loopholes and weaknesses of the conventional learning. The goal of this research is to create a learning module of the nation‟s defence education based on local wisdoms through a citizen project learning as an effort to increase nation‟s defence awareness and civic competence. This is a mixed method research, using both qualitative and quantitative method with “the dominant-less dominant design” pattern. The analysis shows that citizen project learning module gives a positive impact towards the knowledge, attitude and student skill‟s improvement in internalizing nation‟s defence awareness values and civic competence. The advantage of citizen project learning module is that this model gave a vast space for student to dig all aspects in themselves, whether it is cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Keywords: Learning Module, Local Wisdom, Citizen Project, Nation‟s Defence Awareness, Civic CompetenceDOI: https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v6i01.1838

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn a democratic country, like the United Kingdom, has a political party that supports and rejects foreign policy. Competition of political parties in the United Kingdom forced the public to express their aspirations regarding the BREXIT policy. The pro-party against such conservative and conservative referendums like the workers' party makes two camps in Great Britain. Pro's against the referendum is called VOTE LEAVE and the camp is called VOTE REMAIN. The presence of both camps and interest groups has forced the Great Britain to be forced to exercise their right to vote again. The public is demanded in a condition of choosing that Great Britain out or remain a member of the European Union. In accordance with the final result of the referendum, the VOTE LEAVE stronghold won the most votes, the United Kingdom de jure out of the European Union. Along with the incident, David Cameron resigned and was replaced by Theresa May. Theresa May signed Article 50 as a legality that the United Kingdom was out of EU membership. Keywords: Brexit, Vote Leave, Vote Remain, domestic politicsDOI: https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v6i01.1839
