Abstract

ABSTRACTBilateral relations between Turkey and Indonesia have been established for a long time since 1957. This cooperation began when Indonesia joined Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey, and Australia (MIKTA) economic forum until the formation of the Indonesian-Turkey Comprehensive Partnership Economic Agreement (IT-CEPA). From the existence of this cooperative relationship, there are more investment opportunities and various collaborations that have the potential to continue to increase export figures and investment in the creative economy between Indonesia and Turkey. This study aimed to analyze Indonesia's creative economy diplomacy efforts with Turkey in increasing Muslim fashion investment through IT-CEPA in 2016-2020. This study uses qualitative analysis methods through literature analysis and an in-depth literature review of several previous studies. The study results show that economic diplomacy relates to how a country makes and takes decisions by using economic instruments to realize economic interests through the spread of influence on situational and economic policies in other countries or certain international organizations. In addition, Turkey sees the potential for the Muslim fashion industry in Indonesia, while Indonesia is collaborating with Turkey through the IT CEPA agenda. Each country does this to optimize bilateral cooperation because the two countries have privileges and potential in the Muslim fashion industry on a global scale. Keywords: IT-CEPA; Economic Diplomacy; Muslim Fashion.DOI: https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v10i02.3747

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe issue of the outbreak of war in Europe, especially the one between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, is one of the conflicts that creates many policies that come from other countries. One of the countries that responded to this conflict was the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom issued a policy of economic sanctions against Russia as an act of defending Ukraine, which has the right to freedom and sovereignty of its country. Based on this fact, the authors are compelled to conduct research on the procedures used by the United Kingdom in implementing its economic sanctions, especially on issues concerning Chelsea Football Club which is owned by a Russian entity. With a period of 2018-2022, this study uses a qualitative descriptive method with secondary data analysis. In this study, the procedure will be dissected through theories of international relations such as the theory of coercive diplomacy by Constantinou, et al. (2016) and the theory of economic sanctions by Filipenko, et al. (2020). The results of this study include, among others, that the United Kingdom provides economic sanctions through several stages, namely the declaration of coercive diplomacy as a policy basis, the use of special laws as the basis for economic sanctions, asset freezing and cessation of forced investment. Keywords: Coercive Diplomacy, Economic Sanctions, United Kingdom, RussiaDOI: https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v10i02.3745

Abstract

ABSTRACTWith so many unwanted threats waiting to bring peril to anyone in the Asia-Pacific region, Indonesia is required to increase its defense capabilities to an ideal level, in order to be ready to face disputes that may have the potential to pose a threat not only to Indonesia's stability but also to the region or even the world. Therefore, a modernization program that aims to increase Indonesia's defense capability, called the Minimum Essential Force (MEF), was initiated in 2010, followed by predetermined stages that have been agreed upon by the Indonesian government. To complete all MEF stages, Indonesia must carry out various kinds of defense acquisitions, which can be done through bilateral cooperation. The United States, a country that is capable of producing advanced defense equipment, has become a strong partner for Indonesia and has contributed to the MEF program through many defense procurement contracts. During MEF phase II (2015–2019), the two countries reached many defense agreements in terms of military equipment. Therefore, through this research, the author will analyze the contribution of Indonesia-US defense cooperation in MEF phase II, which will lead to the improvement of Indonesia's defense capability. Keywords: Threats, Defense, Cooperation, MEF, ProcurementDOI: https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v10i02.3746

Abstract

ABSTRACTInternational communication is an important component in international relations. This relates to conflict resolution related to two or more countries. Indonesia as one of the countries in the world cannot be separated from territorial dispute conflicts such as the North Natuna Sea territorial dispute. The North Natuna Sea conflict is a conflict related to many countries. As a complex conflict resolution, means of settlement are needed. Indonesia uses international communication as a means of resolving the North Natuna Sea conflict. So this study aims to find out the basis of international communication used by Indonesia and to investigate further about how Indonesia's international communication is implemented as a means of resolving the North Natuna Sea conflict. This study uses qualitative methods and uses the concept of international communication in order to obtain comprehensive research results. Indonesia has taken a number of actions, starting from a peaceful path to a firm stance, President Joko Widodo is clearly seen using an active actor's role to seek ways of peace and of course has a main focus, namely protecting Indonesia's national interests in Natuna. International communication is indeed the first and main way to bridge problems and find a middle point. Of course it is supported by a number of firm actions so as not to be complacent and of course the attitudes of the two countries which are in tension must still respect existing international law. Abstract

ABSTRACTEnvironmental issues are currently receiving a lot of attention worldwide, so they are widely discussed on international agendas. Many countries are starting to care about the sustainability of their country along with the sustainability of the environment in their territory. Some of these countries are Indonesia and Norway. Cooperation between Norway and Indonesia was carried out in the REDD+ program, which was built to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions due to deforestation and forest degradation. This research is qualitative with a descriptive method, with data collection techniques using literature, and the data used is secondary data. The result of this research is that there are social, environmental, and economic obstacles to implementing REDD+ in Indonesia, which has caused REDD+, which should have been completed in 2016, to continue to this day. Keywords: Environmental Issues, Collaboration, Deforestation, Degradation, ObstaclesDOI: https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v10i02.3749

Abstract

ABSTRACTIndonesia as a developing country has many problems that cause human insecurity, such as for example the lack of adequate health facilities, especially in areas outside Java, environmental problems such as plastic pollution in the oceans which indirectly also has a negative impact on health, as well as some difficulties in economic growth. The state of insecurity felt by the Indonesian people got worse when the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia, this is evidenced by the many fatalities and increasing unemployment due to the pandemic. After about two years of being hit by a pandemic, Indonesia is currently entering a post-pandemic year where all sectors have recovered, especially in these three sectors. This research wants to see whether the Indonesian people are still facing insecurity in the health, environment and economic sectors after the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the study found that even though Indonesia has started to rise, the legacy of insecurity, especially in these three sectors, is still being felt by the majority of Indonesian people. This is evidenced that in the health sector, improvements in health facilities are still not optimal, in the environmental sector, the Indonesian people are actually facing a new pollution problem, namely mask pollution, and in the economic sector, the number of unemployed people who increased during the pandemic has not been fully employed. Keywords: human insecurity, economy insecurity, health insecurity, environmental insecurity, Indonesia, post-pandemic Covid-19DOI: https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v10i02.3751
