Journal of Holistic and Traditional Medicine aims to stimulate the discovery and development of holistic care, complementer medicine, herbal and traditional medicine. We accept articles on the holistic care, complementer medicine, herbal, cultivation and extraction of raw materials, the analysis of these materials’ phytochemical/pharmacological effects or toxicity, or the potential applications of natural extracts, fractions, or compounds in the formulation of traditional medicine. Abstract

The Indonesian state is known for its rich natural resources. Tea is one of the natural resources in Indonesia and is the beverage ofchoice for consumption by the public. Tea also has a refreshing and comfortable effect. Phytochemical examination of tea showsthe presence of compounds such as alkaloids, saponins, tannins, catechins, and polyphenols. Another component of tea, namelypolyphenols, can have a pharmacological effect on a person. The polyphenols in tea also have many biological effects in humans,ranging from their effects as antioxidants, anti-aging, anti-cancer, anti-dental caries, and antibacterial. Staphylococcus aureus is anopportunistic pathogen that colonizes the surface of the skin and mucosa of individuals. These bacteria are capable of causing awide spectrum of diseases in humans starting from diseases caused by toxins, such as toxic shock syndrome, to deadly diseasessuch as septicemia, endocarditis, pneumonia, and osteomyelitis.

Abstract

Diarrhea with bowel disorders (BAB) that has bowel movements more than 3 times a day with a liquid consistency, can be supplemented with blood or mucus. Herbal medicine is classified as safe and effective, where there are only a few side effects when compared to synthetic drugs. Srikaya plant (Annona squamosa L.) is one of the plants traditional medicine and proven to have various properties. Roots, leaves, fruit, seeds and srikaya bark has many uses. This herb is traditionally used for the treatment of epilepsy, dysentery, heart problems, worm infections, bleeding, bacterial infection, and fever.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus, or better known to the public with the disease diabetes is a collection of metabolic disorders that produce the same symptom, namely hyperglycemia. Diabetes patients usually use synthetic drugs to control their blood glucose, however, long-term use often causes unwanted side effects, some patients switch to or supplement their therapy with alternative treatments, one of which is herbal medicine. There are various herbal remedies to prevent or treat diabetes, depending on the type of plant used and how to process and consume them, including cinnamon. Use of cinnamon as a therapy for headaches, loss appetite, dyspepsia, flu, inflammation, wound healing, nausea, and diarrhea are quite widespread in society.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that is experiencing multiple nutritional problems. The dual nutritional problem currently facingIndonesia is the occurrence of malnutrition problems that have not been resolved and at the same time, there is a problem of overnutrition. The habits of today's society tend to be passive or known with a sedentary life pattern. This is due to a lack of physicalactivity undertaken so that a person's nutritional status can change. Along with changes in the nutritional status of the communitydue to lack of physical activity performed. This can then be assessed by one of them using anthropometric measurements of BodyMass Index (BMI).

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where a person's blood pressure is at above 140/90 mmHg and is a major factor for the occurrence of stroke, disease heart, kidney, and peripheral circulation problems. This hypertension disease must receive appropriate and safe treatment, the handling can be pharmacological and nonpharmacological. Pharmacological handling is the consumption of drugs while non-pharmacologically one of them is exercise (ergonomic exercise), ergonomic exercise resembles prayer movements so that it is easier to apply in life. daily and its movements are by the rules for creating the body which is inspired by the prayer movements so that it is easy for someone to do this gymnastic movement. Ergonomic exercise is good for body health because this exercise can open, clean, and activate systems in the body such as cardiovascular, urinary, and reproductive. Gymnastics can relax blood vessels. Gradually exercise ergonomics will relax blood vessels, resulting in blood pressure will decrease.
