Abstract

Excessive reassurance-seeking adalah sikap yang meminta kepastian atau validasi diri tentang perasaan dicintai dan harga diri. Instagram adalah salah satu platform media sosial paling populer di kalangan anak muda berusia 18–24 tahun. Dengan pemikiran tersebut, Instagram adalah alat yang dapat digunakan untuk mendapatkan kepastian yang berlebihan. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dari survei kuesioner dengan sampel sebanyak 137 mahasiswa dan dianalisis menggunakan model Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan aplikasi Smart PLS. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Excessive reassurance-seeking berkorelasi positif dengan interaksi sosial, dokumentasi, promosi diri, pengalihan, dan kreativitas. Semakin besar Excessive reassurance-seeking yang mereka miliki, semakin besar pula motif untuk menggunakan Instagram. Hal ini diperlukan responden untuk mencari kebutuhan akan pengakuan atau validasi dari orang lain.
