Abstract

The fast way knowing the site quality by bonita approach, is only for well managed forest. Land suitability is fixed level of land width for particular utilization, this land suitability could be valuated at present condition or after improving action. This research conducted on Forest within work area of BKPH Pasarsore and Cabak, KPH Cepu. The observation site used as sample plot based on aged class and bonita, each them was three times replicated. Parameters observed consist of land resource aspect and stand aspect. The data analyze of ISDL’s outcome was Land Suitability Class in each observation plot, then it could be used as land/site evaluation, then classified into three classes, such as: S1 (very suitable), S2 (suitable) and S3 (marginal suitable). To make the equality between land classification and bonita, thus the bonita also classified into three class, such as: bonita 3 as good enough for teak growth, bonita 3.5 as good for teak growth and bonita 4-5 as very good for teak growth. The equality result in generally, between bonita version and land suitability class version, from totally 77 observation plots, criteria/class S1 (very suitable) occupy 64%, S2 (suitable) 25% dan S3 (marginal suitable) 11%. From each bonita, on bonita 3 : S1 occupy 50%, S2 44% dan S3 6%; on bonita 3,5 : S1 occupy 65%, S2 15% dan S3 20%; on bonita 4 : S1 occupy 64%, S2 24% dan S3 12%; on bonita 4,5-5 : S1 occupy 88%, S2 12% dan S3 0%.

Abstract

Increasing rice productivity has been the main priority for the Government of Indonesia to meet people's food needs, however, there are a number of obstacles such as technology adoption. This study aims to explore the condition of farmers' cultivation, especially in terms of planting systems, varieties developed and reasons for selecting varieties in three different land topographic types (low, medium, and high). Sampling was done purposely with a total sample of 45 farmers who cultivate rice. Data collection includes observation and structured interview, data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that most of the planting system that developed in three types of topography is the ‘tegel’ planting system, other technologies such as “jajar legowo” and system of rice intensification (SRI) have low developed. This is influenced by the new planting system need more skilled labor, more expensive input, and lack of farmers' knowledge. Local rice varieties have declined significantly, dominated by certain superior varieties. The main reason for selecting varieties is due to high productivity and disease resistance. In addition, the accessibility of rice seeds by farmers at the nearest farm shop. This research suggested more intensive mentoring efforts should be done through farmers’ group meetings and improvement of supporting facilities, furthermore the Local Government should improve farmers' affordability of quality seeds.

Abstract

Research aim of heavy metal pollution handling in agricultural land use fitoremediation technologyis to know the effectivity of hemp and mendong plant used and it’s combination with rhizobacterial isolates Agrobacterium sp I3 or organic materials in order to decrease the levels of heavy metal contamination in the soil such as cromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd) and plumbum (Pb).The research was conducted in Waru Village Kebakkramat Sub-District Karanganyar Regency in 2016. The location is a subdistrict in Karanganuyar Regency whose area has many industries, mainly textile industry.Industrial wastewater in this region is widely used to irrigate rice fields by farmers, so the paddy fields have been polluted by Cr, Cd and Pb.Therefore, it is necessary to decrease the contamination of heavy metals in paddy fields with the selection of environmentally friendly remediation technology, low cost, easy and sustainable. The method of remediation in that category is bioremediation using a plant called phytoremediation. For that required plants that have rapid growth and high metal absorption capability. The character are owned by hemp and mendong plants.Based on previous research obtained Agrobacterium sp I3 rhizobacteria which proved able to increase the uptake of Cromium by hemp plant. The research result showed that hemp and mendong plants can absorb metal either Pb, Cd, or Cr.Based on the amount of metal absorption value in root and plant canopy, hemp plant and mendong shows its ability as hyper akumulator plant (the amount of uptake ≥ 100 ppm). The highest decrease of soil Pb content was 39,406% without treatment of basic fertilizer, with rhizobacterial inoculation Agrobacterium sp I3 and hemp plant. The highest decrease of soil Cd content was 56,604% with treatment with basic fertilizer, with inoculation of rhizobacteria Agrobacterium sp I3 and mendong plant. The highest decrease of Cr content of soil was 42,27% with treatment of basic fertilizer, without inoculation of Agrobacterium sp sp I3 and without hemp and mendong plants.

Abstract

Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health as of April 2019 shows that Central Java Province is one of the provinces that has a number of new cases of leprosy as much as 1,445 or 8.49 percent of the total number of cases in Indonesia. Kelet Hospital as one of the referral hospitals for leprosy patients needs to improve the quality of service for leprosy patients even though it has switched to a hospital. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the consequences of the spread of leprosy on leprosy patient services in Central Java Province and how the quality of service to leprosy patients and the general public. and how the strategy of Kelet Hospital in improving the quality of patient care. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection methods through document review, observation, FGD and in-depth interviews. The location of this research is in Kelet Hospital, Jepara Regencyand several regency/ cities with detected cases of leprosy (Blora, Brebes, City of Pekalongan, etc.) The results of the study show that the impact of the spread of leprosy on leprosy patient services in Central Java currently causes leprosy services in health facilities to be not optimal due to the referral system levels, access to referral hospitals is too far away, management and care for leprosy patients in health facilities is still inadequate and there is a negative stigma from the community. The change in the status of the special hospital for leprosy to become RSUD Kelet for leprosy services does not have a negative impact, but instead is able to become a supporting system for leprosy patient services and is able to have a positive impact on increasing the income of Kelet Hospital. The future development strategy is to develop Kelet Hospital as a center of excellence, a cancer research center hospital and a research-based leprosy hospital and integrate health, environment and tourism with the development of the area around RSUD Kelet Jepara.

Abstract

This study aims to study the social capital role of poor fishermen's activities and to study the social network of fishermen communities and their institutions. This research uses mixed method, namely qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that natural capital in the eleven sample villages is coastal and oceanic, and the majority of the population with formal education has not graduated from elementary school (SD) and low incomes, Smooth interactions between the rulers and laborers are supported by social relationships based on neighborhood, kinship and religious ties, power transfer only occurs in the level of local institutions that is dominated by close groups of power; and there is relatively no social learning process, because the program activities are more economical. The strength of non-material culture or social capital is an important factor in why the people in the eleven sample villages can still survive. The meaning of mutual trust is the result of interactions involving (at least three) community members in a neighboring group, hamlet level associations, village level organizations, and the development of a social network system across village boundaries. (f) Empowerment programs in poverty reduction efforts are influenced by the strength of social capital generated by a number of values (composite) that form networks of mutual trust, mutual respect and mutual benefits.Recommendations that can be given: (a) strengthening social capital such as shame / self-esteem, empathy, honesty, trustworthiness, altruism, being forward-looking and being rational are important; while the driving force for material progress is hard and diligent work, frugal, passionate about innovation, respect for work performance, visionary, and rational. The two combined values, namely for strengthening social capital on the one hand and for driving progress or strengthening material capital on the other hand, collectively (synergistically) are needed in the management of sustainable programs in rural areas. (b) empowerment of rural communities, especially poor fishermen, through strengthening social capital needs to be put in the framework of the transformation or sustainable development of rural communities (c) the development of coastal areas must pay attention to social relations in fishing communities, so as not to lead to social polarization. (d) the factor of village leadership and extension officers is important for the sustainability of an empowerment program in providing guidance for the productive economic business of the fishing community in the form of technical guidance and business management. (e) need post-program “coaching” by the competent agency; (f) the need for empowerment of the poor through increased coordination between poverty alleviation agencies.
