Abstract

Dumptruck operators have a risk of experiencing job stress. The aim of this research is to describe the level of work stress and analyze the related factors with the occurrence of work stress on dumptruck operators in PT Mandiri Intiperkasa Tarakan City. This research is a qualitative research was an descriptive observational design. The respondents was a 110 dump truck operators used simple random sampling method. Data ware collection used Generic Job Stress Questioner from NIOSH for job stress and questionnaires Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42) that has been modified to determine stress level and data analysis used Spearmen correlation test. The results of this study showed that from 110 respondents there are had very low job stress level with 73 people (66,4%), had low job stress with 23 people (20,9%) and had moderate job stress of 14 people (12, 7%). There were a correlation betwen lenght of work (p= 0,000),, interpersonal conflict(p= 0,000),, job uncertainty(p= 0,009),, employment Opportunity (p= 0,000), work demands (p=0,003) mental demands (p=0,000). But there were no correlation between Age (p= 0,115), , marital status (p= 0,381), and role conflict (p=0,071) with job stres. The conclusion of this research is the level of job stress dumptruck operator PT. Mandiri Inti Perkasa tends to be low and still within normal limits so as not to disrupted its work performance.

Abstract

Haul dumptruck is a heavy-duty vehicles which is used to haul the overburden from loading point to disposal area. Haul dumptruck is driven by operators who have a high enough workload risk, especially on mental activity. The purpose of this study was to learn the correlation between mental workload with fatigue complaints of PT. MKP haul dumptruck operators at PKP2B PT. Mandiri Intiperkasa Site Krassi, Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara. This research was an analytic observational research with cross sectional design. The Sample of this research was 110 PT. MKP haul dumptruck operators at PKP2B PT. Mandiri Intiperkasa Site Krassi. The Variables of this research were individual factors (age, gender, and years of service), mental workload, and fatigue complaints. The data were analyzed by spearman correlation test to analyze the correlation between variables. The results showed 50% of haul dumptruck operators were 35-44 years old, 100% male, and 32.7% had 7-10 years of service. Most of haul dumptruck operators (58.2%) had very high mental workload levels and 68.2% was having low-grade fatigue complaints. The significant ρ value of the spearman test between mental workload and fatigue complaints was 0,400, while the correlation coefficient value was -0,081. The conclusion of this reasearch indicated that there was not a significant correlation between mental workload and fatigue complaints on haul dumptruck operators. Recommendation for the company are forming a labor unions, fixing cottage rest areas, giving co-worker when haul dumptruck operators complain of fatigue and mental workload on high level, and maintainin-developing a fatigue management as well as raising workers' awareness on its application.

Abstract

Psychological or mental problems is one of the health problems that often occur in workers in an industry. Noise is one of the factors that can affect job stress. Production worker of PT. Semen Bosowa Banyuwangi has the potential to experience work stress. Method: This research is an observational research with descriptive research design with crossectional approach. Sampling using total sampling method, with 49 respondents. The variables in this study are job stress, noise intensity, noise complaints and respondent characteristics. Results: Respondents were on average 30 years old with the youngest age of 19 years and the oldest was 40 years old. Most recent education is taken by the respondent is the level of Senior High School (SMA). Most of the respondents are married. The average respondent has been working for 3.5 years. Most workers are exposed to noise with an intensity of 85 - 90 dBA. There are 38.8% of workers who feel disturbed by the noise work environment. Working stress in the medium category has the highest proportion with a percentage of 51%. Discussion: Workers production PT. Semen Bosowa Banyuwangi mostly experience moderate work stress. Occurrence of work stress tends to increase in line with the increase in noise intensity. Workers who feel disturbed by the noise are mostly experiencing moderate work stress.

Abstract

Fatigue is a condition that affect the efficiency, endurance, and safety of the work in general. The specific objective of this research was to study the internal factors (individual characteristics) and external factors (work system) associated with fatigue in the production operator in PT PJB UP Paiton. This research was a descriptive observation. The variables studied were factors age, years of service, nutritional status,workload based on the pulse, occupation, job variation, the state perseption of the lighting, noise exiting in the workplace according to the respondents. Fatigue was measured using a questionnaire measuring instrument feeling fatigue (KAUPK2). The result showed that the majority of respondents experienced fatigue of “medium” level (73,33%). Variables related to the level of fatigue of respondents were factors ages 43- 48 years (75%), work period 11-17 years (72.72%), nutritional status obesity 2 (58.71%), the heavy workload (81.81%), variety monotonous work (76.92%), state lighting (40%) and the state of the noise (76.92%). It is recommended to the company to provide leaflets and benner for the worker related to fatigue information and providing information how to choose a balanced diet according to the needs of energy. The management also have to suggest the operator to follow the exercises program once a week

Abstract

Women's participation in employment increases from year to year, due to the increasing number of industries requiring women's skills. The health of women workers should be of special concern in order to increase productivity. This study aims was to analyze the relationship of nutritional status, the level of energy intake, the workload with the productivity of female workers part of the packaging. This research was observational analytic with cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted in PT X, the sample size of this research was all female worker population of packaging with 35 people. Data were collected by measuring height, body weight, pulse rate, and 2 x 24 hour food recall interview. The analysis data using contingency coefficient test to see strenght relationship between varibael. The results of this research were female employee with characteristics most of the age group of 30-49 years, mostly elementary school graduates, most of them were married, and more than five years of service. The results showed that value of contingeny coefficient was nutrition status (0.458), energy intake level (0.388), and work load (0.341). Of the three variable was only nutritional status with moderate stregth relationship, while the level of energy intake level and the workload had a weak stregth relationship. It can be concluded that productivity among female worker in PT X is more affected by nutritional status compared energy intake level and work load. Companies are advised to providing canteen, providing counseling on balanced nutrition, and exercise activity.
