Online platforms are particularly important in times of crisis, as they are a vital channel for providing and ensuring access to information. Competition increases the value of digital marketing in the banking sector; however, it also makes it more difficult to stand out in the disruption and uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. Realizing the fact that the website has become mainstream in corporate marketing, this research investigates the practice of marketing by the largest and strongest 11 Islamic banks globally listed by the Asian Banker (2019). Information on visual elements, product features, and post locations related to corona safety precaution information was extracted from bank web pages. With that, also followed the post related to option of an opening online account and digital channel safety concern during COVID-19. Furthermore noticed on the bank webpage about the government funding for Corona activities and financial assistance to SMEs. The findings of this research suggest that in any crisis and fluid situation, where uncertainty existence is likely to be high, Islamic banks must be prepared to alter web-interface communication approaches and marketing strategies to reach their customers. To stay afloat in a highly competitive digital world, banks can advertise relevant product offerings during the Coronavirus crisis. Navigation and accessibility related to Coronavirus information on the website should be straightforward, highlight socially responsible activities, focus on customers with financial difficulty, and use differentiated and personalized banking services. Customers will regard such initiative and perceive their bank brand as compassionate, kind, and unpretentious.

Abstract

This study was done so as to determine how the effects of alcoholism among university students can affect their academic progression. Survey Research Design was employed during data collection, within a sample of 300 respondents, who were obtained through purposive sampling technique. Questionnaires were distributed to 290 students because they live with/among the addicted students; while interviews were also done to 10 students and lecturers because they have clear details concerning the addicted student, who have encountered hindrances on academic matters due to alcoholism. The obtained data are presented in tables, showing frequencies and percentages of each item, while others are explained as theories, concepts and views. For those cases, alcoholism among university students has been proven to be accompanied with unsafe sexual practices, which results into unwanted pregnancies and STDs like gonorrhea, syphilis, UTI, HIV/AIDS, etc. Due to alcoholism, most of students have been involved in accidents and injuries, which make them ill and not attend lectures. Some have developed kinds of aggressive behaviors that makes them indiscipline and violent. Such factors hinder their academic prosperity due to failing in exams, attaining low GPAs, prosponding the semester(s) due to financial crisis after squandering school fees, and being incompetent within their profession. Then if so, universities should set strategies and techniques in order to educate the fresh year students who have not been addicted. Rehabilitation counselling should take part to eliminate alcohol dependency on their students. And lecturers should use professional skills to ensure all students attend lectures.

Abstract

This case study used a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to determine the resilience of private school teachers in facing workload adversities during the COVID-19 pandemic in Academic Year 2020-2021. It also analysed how the teaching workload adversities affect the teachers’ teaching performance in terms of assigned classes and school-related activities, and teacher well-being in terms of teaching activities, non-teaching activities, and well-being. Resilience was determined using the Adversity Response Profile (ARP) developed by Dr. Paul Stoltz, the proponent of Adversity Quotient. Findings showed that the mean of respondents’ ARP is Below Average. This in addition to heavy and challenging teaching workloads has negative impacts on the teachers’ teaching performance and well-being. The study provides implications not only to its subjects but to all stakeholders of an educational institution. It signifies the importance of resilience or the ability to bounce back from adversities in life. Now that the COVID-19 pandemic persists, having resilience is a must especially for teachers. Thus, it calls for a more administrative support by providing the ways and means to help develop and strengthen the teachers’ resilience especially in this time of pandemic.
