The Journal of Electricity, Instrumentation and Applied Electronics (JuLIET) is an open-access journal published by the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Vocational School, Gadjah Mada University. Abstract

Spirometer is an instrument used to measure the vital capacity of the human lung and is usually only found in large hospitals or clinical laboratories because of its relatively high price. However, to find out how this instrument works, a prototype of the spirometer is made by utilizing a Labview-based interface. This prototype was developed by making an air channel or funnel the size of a human mouth which then the air will be detected by a pressure sensor connected to a signal conditioning circuit and then the measurement information data is forwarded by the Arduino to a computer to be processed into digital data which is then converted into vital capacity information data. lungs. The results obtained from this research are that it can make a spirometer prototype according to its function which is hoped to be used as a learning medium in the field of medical instrumentation by measuring the vital capacity of the lungs in the form of height, age, and gender of a person, besides that the results are in the form of a graphic display. and numerical data from the measurement process on the GUI display in LabVIEW. This prototype was calibrated using a syringe with a volume of 2 liters and the accuracy rate was 99.63% with a standard deviation value of ± 70.61 ml and a precision value of 1.76% from these results.

Abstract

In this modern era, the activities of almost all humans depend on machines they make, such as single-phase induction electric motors, which are used to chop plastic waste. This chopping machine aims to help plastic collectors process plastic waste into small pieces, making it easier to pack and ship plastic out of the area for reprocessing. The plastic waste shredding machine is made using a crushing system with a fan-shaped blade construction consisting of 39 blades divided by two rotating rows opposite the cover box using a chain motor gear transmission element. Most of the chopper machines on the market use engines with diesel or diesel fuel, therefore a chopper machine using an electric motor is designed to compare the motor power without the addition of capacitors and capacitors. The waste load used for motors without additional capacitors, medium and large bottles measuring 375 ml to 1500 ml, the machine can chop as much as 800 grams with the highest measurement of power 578.0 Watt, current 4.192 A, the lowest motor speed measurement is 1414 rpm and the reducer speed is 22.9 rpm . The waste load used for motors with additional capacitors, medium and large bottles measuring 375 ml to 1500 ml, the machine can chop 1000 grams with the highest measurement of power 732.7 Watt, current 4.149 A, the lowest motor speed measurement is 1464 rpm and the reducer speed is 22.9 rpm.

Abstract

As technology has developed rapidly nowadays, it arises some impacts. Controlling electronic devices using the smart home application can ease users to control household electronic equipment to reduce el,ectricity wastefulness when the users forget to turn them off. Towards the aim, the author conducted research on the energy efficiency of lamps used in Internet of Things (IoT) technology.The research developed a controlling system (on-off) of 5 arduino-based LED lamps. The website would control the LED lamps which will send data to the server where the server will continue the data to arduino to read the command: ON or OFF. Next, arduino will send the LED’s status to the server to perform the LED status display on the website. Blackbox testing is used to better utilize the functional aspects of the system designed for users’ convenience in controlling LED lamps based on the appearance of the website. Therefore, the system can show that the functions of both hardware and website controlling the LED lamps are running well and can be used by users easily and usefully.

Abstract

Hybrid Power Plant is an integration of two or more power plants based on renewable energy or not. Indonesia targets 23% of new renewable energy in the national energy mix in 2025, Merden Village is one of the areas located in Padureso District, Kebumen Regency., which has a renewable energy-based power plant, namely PLTMH with a capacity of 2x200 kVa connected to the grid (PLN). However, from August to December it did not run optimally due to a lack of water supply from the Wadaslintang Reservoir. Based on the database form NASA, the village of Merden is an area that has radiation of 4,60 kWh/m2/day, with a high enough intensity, this village has the potential to be paired with photovoltaics as additional energy. This research uses the help of HOMER software with the parameters entered, among others, energy source (solar radiation intensity and water discharge), equipment specifications, cost and daily load profile. The results of this study are the electrical energy production of the two generators is 1.301.169 kWh per year with a total NPC value of -$941.597 and an LCOE of - $0,056. The most optimal configuration is Microhydro 385 kW, PV 15kW, Battery 40 units, Bi-Directional Inverter 75 kW. This shows the additional of PV can be a reference because it can produce electrical energy for one full year.Keywords : Hybrid, Microhydro, PV, Grid, HOMER

Abstract

This research aims to build mechanical system of Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) and navigation system for AGV.  The navigation system consists of RFID reader and rotary encoder. The testing result show that mechanical system of AGV was successfully finished. There is a mechanical problem on drive system of AGV. Each part of navigation system works well according to design. Line sensor can be used for path detection with the given threshold values. Encoder can be used to measure the speed of AGV with the maximum error accuracy less than 2 rpm. This result shows that every part of AGV is ready to run localization and navigation algorithm, even though, it needs to do some improvement on driving parts.
