Abstract

This study aims to determine and understand the determinants of inequality in economic development between provinces in Indonesia. The analysis is carried out by first calculating the Williamson Index as an indicator of inequality in economic development between regions. They used economic and social variables, including the human development index, road infrastructure, and foreign investment. This research method uses a statistical panel data approach with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) model. This study explains that the human development index partially has a significant negative effect on inequality between regions. Road infrastructure and foreign investment have a significant positive impact on inequality between regions. Simultaneously, the human development index, road infrastructure, and foreign investment significantly affect economic development inequality between regions.

Abstract

International trade between countries aims to support economic growth. Indications of the success of international trade carried out by the state can be studied based on the results of the trade balance. In this study, researchers observed the impact of international trade competition activities in ASEAN countries due to the U.S.-China trade war that affects global trade. The study was analyzed through quantitative methods using Random Effect Model (REM) model panel data through the Least Squares Dummy Variable (LSDV) technique. The object of the study observed is the independent variables of the U.S.-China trade balance, balance of payments, imports, and exchange rates. While the dependent variance observed is the economic growth of 5 ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand). The results of the analysis of data processing explained that the U.S.-China balance of trade and exchange rates had a significant negative impact on the economic growth of the 5 ASEAN countries. On the other hand, the balance of payments and imports has a positive impact. The model shows that together the variables of the U.S.-China balance of trade, balance of payments, imports and exchange rates have an impact on the economic growth of the 5 ASEAN countries.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the influence of variable foreign debt, foreign investment, domestic investment and inflation on Indonesia's economic growth. Researchers observed research variables in the period 1994-2018 with variables of economic growth as dependent variables. In this study, researchers used cross-section data processed by the Error Correction Model (ECM) method. Based on the results of the ECM method, research researchers can explain the influence of variables on a holistic scale in the long and short term. The results of the study explain that in the long run, economic growth can be positively affected by foreign debt significantly. But on the other hand, in the short term, the results of research show that domestic investment and foreign debt both have a significant positive influence on economic growth. From these results, there are differences in the influence of independent variables in each time period. Although there are differences in the influence of independent variables on each time period, but researchers concluded that from the results of processing data variables foreign debt is equally a significant positive effect on national economic growth.

Abstract

The labor force participation rate is a manifestation of the amount of labor absorbed from the total working-age population. The available workforce will then occupy jobs within sectors of the national economy. In its absorption, the large-scale and medium-scale industrial sector is one of the sectors that has a massive impact on the absorption of labor from year to year. The purpose of this study is to understand the factors that affect the absorption of labor in the processing industry sector in Bandung Raya Metropolitan. The study uses quantitative analysis studies with panel data. The data processing results showed that wages, the number of business units, the amount of FDI and DDI investments had a significant positive effect on the absorption of labor in large- and medium-scale industrial sectors. On the other hand, researchers have a meeting that the disintegration of the influence of the GDRP of the industrial sector and the Human Development Index has a significant negative impact.
