Abstract

Man can express the state of their souls through literary works, and Man also gain experience of their souls by reading and appreciating literary works. This paper aims to see a description of trauma symptoms related to the mental health of Lanang figures, in the Lanang Novel by Yonathan Rahardjo. The inner conflict of the characters in this novel represents the symptoms of trauma resulting in mental health disorders. It is important to know that novel readers can understand mental health issues through the appreciation of literary works. This novel study uses the contentanalysis method and literary psychoanalysis approach carried out to describe psychological problems, especially related to mental health disorders in Novel Lanang. The results of the analysis show that the symptoms of trauma can be shown through three things, namely: 1) Re-experiencing or intrusion is the reappearance of a traumatic event in the self (flashback), 2) Avoidance is an uncomfortable or painful feeling that makes him try to avoid so as not too experienced a traumatic event. 3) Hyperarousal is excessive anxiety experienced by sufferers causing him to feel in a state of being threatened or a constant danger. These three things are reflected in the character of Lanang. The description of trauma symptoms in this novel can be used as an initial experience to understand mental health issues. Literary works can also be a source of knowledge about the state of human psychology.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the structure of hoax on Facebook social media, (2) describe the contents of hoax messages on Facebook; and (3) describe the characteristics of using hoax in Facebook social media. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research was carried out on Facebook. Data collection was carried out during August 2019 - January 2020. The research design used was descriptive qualitative. The focus of this research is hoax information and hoax information disseminating accounts. Research data sources, namely hoax information disseminating facebook account. Data collection techniques are done by reading Facebook account posts, identifying hoax information, making screenshots or screenshoots, copying hoax-identified messages, verifying, determining hoax-categorized information, and analyzing based on data analysis guidelines. The research instrument consisted of the main instrument namely the researcher and the observation guide table. The results of the study reveal the structure, content of hoax messages, and the linguistic characteristics of hoax texts. The structure of the hoax text found consists of 10 patterns, namely (1) Recognition of issues, Reaffirmation, Series of arguments, and Statement of solicitation, (2) Statement of solicitation, Recognition of issues, Sequence of arguments, and Reaffirmation, (3) Recognition of issues, Sequence arguments and solicitation statements, (4) recognition of issues, series of arguments, and reaffirmation, (5) recognition of issues, invitation statements, and series of arguments, (6) recognition of issues and series of arguments, (7) recognition of issues, and solicitation of invitations , (8) solicitation statement and series of arguments, (9) introduction of the issue, and (10) solicitation statement. The contents of the message found consisted of 5 types, namely (1) scary hoax messages, (2) emotional hoax messages, (3) hoax messages full of promises, (4) encouraging messages, and (5) humorous messages. The linguistic characteristics found consist of 3 namely (1) the use of technical words, (2) the use of argumentative conjunctions, including (a) the use of the conjunction "if", (b) the use of the conjunction "cause", ( c) the use of the conjunctions "because", (4) the use of the conjunctions "so", (5) the use of the conjunctions "their consequences". (3) use of command sentences, including (a) viral (b) distribute.

Abstract

Research purpose to:(1) describe the form of teaching material to write exposition text based on the potential of Wajo area; and (2) testing the feasibility of teaching materials for writing exposition text based on the potential of the Wajo region. This type of research is research and development or Research and Development (R&D). The research design used is Recursive, Reflective Design, and Development Model (R2D2). The data in this study are qualitative and quantitative data from expert and practitioner assessments. Qualitative data sourced from comments, criticisms, and suggestions from expert and practitioner assessments of teaching material. Quantitative data sourced from expert and practitioner assessment scores on the components of teaching materials. The data analysis technique of this research is qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative data analysis is to group data and conclude data in the form of comments, criticisms, and suggestions from experts and practitioners for the improvement of teaching material. Quantitative data analysis is looking for the average of each indicator of expert and practitioner ratings for product viability. This research and development resulted in the teaching of Wajo Regional Potential Themed Text Exposition Texts for Class VIII Students of SMP / MTs that have been assessed by experts and practitioners. The results showed that the content eligibility component obtained an average of 0.93 (very feasible), a presentation component of 0.91 (very feasible), a linguistic component of 0.92 (very feasible), a graphic component of 0.94 (very feasible), and component implications for developing writing skills competence 0.94 (very feasible). The results of expert and practitioner assessments of teaching materials indicate that the assessment is in a very feasible category. Thus, teaching materials are recommended to be used as teaching materials in junior high schools.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the strengthening of student character in Indonesian courses including planning, implementation, assessment, inhibiting factors, and support. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research is a lecturer who teaches Indonesian language courses. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation analysis. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman analysis model. The results obtained, that character education has been integrated in Indonesian language learning, both in planning, implementation, and learning assessment. At the learning planning stage, Indonesian language lecturers have included character values that will be implemented in learning in the syllabus and RPS. The implementation of Indonesian language learning as a whole has implemented character values.  Assessment of Indonesian language learning based on the RPS made by Indonesian language lecturers includes affective, cognitive, and psychomotor assessments. Assessment is carried out through observation, questions, and classical discussions. Inhibiting factors for the integration of character strengthening for students in Indonesian language learning, that  is lecturers having difficulty in choosing character values and integrating them with learning materials, assessing the achievement of character education, and learning media that are less supportive. Supporting factors for the integration of character strengthening in Indonesian language learning, that is the campus environment, interactions between students, and a coherent teaching schedule.

Abstract

Research purpose to: (1) describe the readability of the Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for male students of class VIII; (2) describing the readability of Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for female students of class VIII; (3) describe the differences in the readability of the Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 in male and female students of class VIII.This type of research is quantitative research. The sample used in this study was grade VIII as many as 62 students. 25 male students and 33 female students. Determination of the sample is done by total sampling technique. The instrument in this study was a cloze test. Data analysis techniques used statistical analysis of independent sample t-test. The results of the study concluded: (1) the level of readability of the Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for male students of class VIII are categorized as difficult or low (frustation) on all texts tested, with the percentage of respondens in exposition text (88.9%), explanatory text (77.8%), review texts (100%), persuasive texts (95.6%), and nonfiction texts (95.24%). (2) Level of readability of Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for female students of class VIII are categorized as difficult or low (frustation) on all texts tested, with the percentage of respondens in exposition text (56.3%), explanatory text (59.4%), review text (88.23) %), persuasive texts (64.7%), and nonfiction texts (86.2%). (3) Based on the statistical test results obtained significance value of the review text 0.015, persuasive text with a significance value of 0.004, and nonfiction text with a significance value of 0.005. This shows that there are significant differences in the level of readability of Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for male and female students of class VIII in the review text, persuasive text, and nonfiction text. As for the text that does not have significant differences, namely exposition text and explanatory text.Keywords: readability, textbooks, gender
