MATHunesa is a mathematical scientific journal published by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, The State University of Surabaya with e-ISSN 2716-506X and p-ISSN 2301-9115. Abstract

Metode permukaan respon merupakan sekumpulan teknik statistika yang berguna untuk menganalisa permasalahan dimana beberapa variabel bebas mempengaruhi variabel respon dan tujuan akhirnya adalah untuk mengoptimalkan variabel respon. Metode ini pertama kali diajukan pada tahun 1951 oleh Box dan Wilson. Penerapan metode permukaan respon yang digunakan untuk optimalisasi proses sealing pada pengemasan produk makanan jelly merk Big Stick menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap presentase produk nonBS adalah lamanya waktu pressing kemasan dan suhu yang digunakan pada proses sealing. Nilai respon presentase produk nonBS optimum diperoleh pada waktu detik dan suhu . Sedangkan nilai respon presentase produk nonBS optimal diperoleh sebesar . Titik optimum pada permukaan respon merupakan titik pelana, karena nilai eigen dari matriks yang diperoleh berlainan tanda (positif dan negatif) yaitu dengan nilai dan .
