Abstract

Sockets are electrical equipment that has been used to connect and disconnect electricity from a power source to electrical equipment. Rapid technological developments encourage people to create a reliable and easy-to-operate socket. So far, the operation of the socket is done manually by pressing the socket. The very rapid development of technology has encouraged people to create electrical plugs with greater capabilities and ease of use. Therefore, designed an electrical plug that can be controlled by an android smartphone. For operation through the android application, sensors are needed that can be used to detect all the parameters needed in the use of sockets, there are several sensors used, namely current sensors, voltage sensors, and bluetooth. This sensor is connected to the Arduino UNO. By using the android application, we no longer need to walk to the location of the socket, simply by giving an order via android then the task of the socket can be carried out.

Abstract

The development of the world of transportation, especially land transportation such as cars as well as the development of shopping centers, restaurants, entertainment and recreation facilities that are growing very rapidly make every entrepreneur who manages parakeet lands to think about parking spaces for future visitors. Customers will feel comfortable and calm if they are easy to find a parking space for their vehicle and easy to find their vehicle again. With this condition, it is necessary to have a tool that can tell customers where the empty parking blocks are so that customers no longer need to circle around just looking for empty parking blocks. The more crowded visitors who come to the parking area, the more busy the parking attendants who manage parking are Manually. Therefore, we need a way to solve this problem. Based on these problems, this research designed a vehicle parking automation based on the AT89S51 microcontroller where the microcontroller will check the condition of the parking entrance, if there is a vehicle in front of the door, the microcontroller will check the conditions in each place. If there is an empty place, the LCD will display the place, then the microcontroller will order to open the parking door. The door will close again after the vehicle enters. This process will continue until all parking spaces are filled.

Abstract

Petromax lamps have many disadvantages such as kerosene which is increasingly expensive and limited. Petromax lamps also produce pollution in the form of smoke produced which can cause disease. The danger of the petromax lamp is that it can cause a fire if there is negligence. But it is undeniable, people really need lighting from lights, especially at night. Therefore, an alternative plan is needed that can replace the petromax lamp by using other available energy sources. A lamp design using renewable energy that can be used throughout the day without the slightest cost in its use. One of the renewable energies available on earth that can be used to replace petromax lamps is energy that comes from the gravitational force of the earth. Due to the lack of knowledge about the use of gravity as renewable energy, a learning tool is needed that can be used especially by electrical engineering students to better understand the concept of gravity which is applied to a visual aid in the form of a gravity lamp.

Abstract

Public Street Lighting (PJU) is part of the utilities needed by the community. Public road lighting is needed to improve traffic safety, environmental safety and public comfort when driving, especially at night. This study aims to determine the light intensity and level of public street lighting (PJU) in Pematang Siantar City, especially Jalan Sutomo. The condition of Jalan Sutomo, Pematang Siantar City is a one-way street. In calculating the luminance intensity ( lux ) of public street lighting, a digital lux meter is used. The type and power of the lamp used for PJU on Jl. Sutomo Pematang Siantar City is a 60 W LED lamp. The height of the PJU pole on Jl. Sutomo in Pematang Siantar City is 9 meters in average with an arm length of 2 meters. The distance between a row of PJU poles is approximately 50 meters, with a road width of approximately 10 meters. The laying of the PJU on Jalan Sutomo, Pematang Siantar City, is by facing each other on each side of the road using a 1 arm lamp post.

Abstract

Height measuring instrument is a tool that can be used by humans to assist in the process of determining height. Most height gauges in use today are analog or manual height gauges. In today's technological developments, the author will make an automatic height measuring device using ultrasonic sensors to calculate data from received objects. The sensor is used to measure the working distance at a frequency of 40 KHz so as not to interfere with human hearing. As the control center of this measuring instrument, it uses the Arduino Uno Microcontroller. This measuring instrument is capable of measuring an object with the accuracy of the sensor reading the data, namely the maximum height of 195 cm and the minimum height of 50 cm. The advantage of this tool is that it uses a microcontroller and sensor technology, while to display measurement results using an LCD and LCD measuring instruments can move according to the height of the object, to move the LCD a DC motor is used as the driver. And the measurement results are issued through the speaker in the form of sound that has been stored on the SD Card in WAV format, making it easier for blind people to know the user's height. The drawback of this tool is the construction of the tool and sensor readings, so that the results obtained from the measurements still contain some errors.
