Abstract

PT. ABCD is a company in the field of automotive spare parts for wheels 2 and 4, which produces braketubes for PT. TAM. This research contains how to increase the productivity of the bending process of the LR-259 machine and improve the quality of the LR-260 machine, especially the brake tube part. The problem that occurs is less than the maximum productivity. The method used in this research is PDCA analysis of conditions in the Production Group at PT. A B C D. By making improvements, making jig markings directly in 1 part and replacing the tertiary roll on the LR machine–259 and LR–260 engines. The results of the implementation of this improvement are able to reduce the number of man power from 6 to 5 people so as to reduce production costs. The existence of 1x jig marking that was carried out was able to reduce the cycle time from 56” to 3”. So that the manufacture of 1 part which previously took 460 "is reduced to 407" with a fairly high productivity of 15.5 pcs/hour.

Abstract

Indonesia is the second largest coconut producing country in the world and demand for coconut products continues to increase both in the export and domestic markets. Coconut oil is one of the most important raw materials for making soap. There are two processes of making soap by saponification reaction, namely hot and cold processes. The purpose of this study was to provide scientific information about the benefits of adding the content of soap making. This research is expected to help improve the economy of coconut farmers in Indonesia. The materials used in this study were VCO, stearic acid, NaOH, glycerin, ethanol (70%), sorbitol solution (66.66%). This experimental research method uses laboratory experimental methods (pH and homogeneity tests) using descriptive analysis (using SPSS), to provide information about the manufacture of this soap product. The hot process method is carried out to streamline the saponification process in soap making so that ultra transparent soap products can be formed properly because the hot process has the advantage of accelerating the saponification reaction process. The results of testing/evaluation of ultra transparent soap products are in accordance with the SNI (1994) standard, namely having a satisfactory level of satisfaction, pH 9.46 and having homogeneity properties.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company that produces motorcycle and car batteries. In carrying out the battery manufacturing process, PT. XYZ really pays attention to the quality of the products it produces. The obstacles that are still faced at PT. XYZ, namely the still high scrap rate, which is 2.27%, with the dominant scrap being plate scrap, which is 84%, of which 55% comes from the pasting process with the plate scrap ratio reaching 2.45%, so that this problem can reduce productivity levels and increase production costs. Therefore, we need a method that can reduce the high number of defects so that the target plate scrap ratio of 1.39% set by the company can be achieved. One way that can be done is to identify and analyze the factors causing scrap by applying the kaizen concept to the PDCA stage. Kaizen is a way of continuous improvement that involves everyone, both managers and employees, to get optimal results. From the results of the application of Kaizen with stages of 8 PDCA steps, it can be seen that the scrap rate in 2016 was 1.35% or 0.04% lower than the target of 1.39%, whereas when compared to the scrap rate in 2015 which reached 2.45%, it means that the corrective steps have been taken. This was done in particular by reducing scrap plates due to the presence of scrap because jamming plates and plate drop which dominantly contributed to scrap plates in pasting, and this was able to reduce scrap plate by 55.1% in the pasting process and from this result many benefits were obtained by the company either directly or indirect.

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to examine the potential of production planning process optimization in Zinc Plated Steel (BjLS) manufacturing industry through Non Linear Programming (NLP) simulation. The manufacturing industry in the steel sub -sector is one of the strategic industries as it is a pillar of national development. Global competition requires companies to continuously improve the efficiency of their production activities, which is heavily influenced by the production planning process. With good production planning, it is hoped that the company can optimize the use of limited resources to achieve the company's goals. This study found that the most appropriate optimization to the real situation of the BjLS manufacturing industry is multivariate NLP with constraints on production volume, production time, raw material supply and budget to purchase raw materials. This research can also provide input on the production mix that best suits the company’s resources.

Abstract

The technological disruptions that have occurred over the past few decades have inevitably affected the printing industry especially the mass media printing industry. Print media with products such as: Books, Magazines, Newspapers, Tabloids, will definitely be affected. The product was eliminated by digital media, not to mention, the covid pandemic that occurred in the last two years also triggered a sharp decline in the media business. The eight-color KBA machine, which is the focus of this research, is a ten-year-old machine with excellent printing capabilities, namely high capacity, 4-color alternating printing capability, and automatic machine control. Deteriorating machine life, as well as maintenance, functional audits and upgrades are key factors. Problems that often arise are print units, infeed, and control units, resulting in downtime and delays in the production process so that machine performance becomes less effective. The purpose of this research is to determine the maintenance interval schedule and find out the maintenance actions or activities that need to be carried out. To overcome the problem in this study using the method of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) with the calculation of Failure Modes and Effects Analyze (FMEA). RCM is defined as the process used to determine what must be done for machine maintenance, while FMEA is defined as the method for identifying the highest form of failure for each machine fault that occurs. From the calculation results using FMEA, FTA and RCM obtained the maintenance interval results on the Cylinder Section components with a maintenance interval of 10.58 hours.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is an automotive manufacturing company. Problems during the production process are very important to be analyzed. Analysis of these problems needs to be done, especially on the production machines used. With OEE analysis (overall equipment effectiveness) functions to see the overall condition which includes the level of availability, performance level, and quality level. Using a machine that is less efficient there are six factors which are called the six major disadvantages. From the results of the calculation of the OEE value on the cutting line 6 finishing machine, it is still below the standard word class manufacturing (WCM) with an average of 81.18%. The results of the calculation of the six major losses, the factors that influence the low value of OEE are damage losses (49.16%) and adjustment and adjustment (38.13%). To see the root of the problem as a whole, an analysis was carried out using the RCA (Root Cause Analysis) method and provided improvements with an average OEE result of 94.45%.

Abstract

Uncomfortable workplace conditions play an important role in causing work stress. Whereas work stress can directly affect the safety and health of workers. This is because work stress can trigger health problems and even work accidents. The method used is a quantitative method. The data obtained from the results of distributing questionnaires with a total of 250 respondents were processed and analyzed using SPSS 22.00 software for windows. Factor 1 was able to explain 37.461% of variations, namely role ambiguity, role conflict, career development, work stress, work conflict. While factor 2 explains 20.126% of the variation which includes quantitative overload, qualitative overload. From these results, to reduce employee work stress, it is necessary to make clear SOPs for each employee and make team building sessions between leaders and employees in reducing the workload.

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari makalah ini adalah untuk menganalisis penelitian terkini tentang Total Quality Management (TQM) di industri manufaktur dan mengidentifikasi peluang penelitian lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini menggunakan tinjauan pustaka sistematis dari artikel ilmiah terbaru (2016-2021) yang dicari dengan mengikuti kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang spesifik. Ditemukan tiga kategori utama tujuan penelitian, yaitu: pengembangan TQM, strategi TQM, dan dampak TQM. Beberapa tahun belakangan, riset mengenai dampak TQM adalah yang paling populer dan selalu ada dari tahun ke tahun, sedangkan riset mengenai pengembangan TQM adalah yang paling tidak popular. Penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan kepada peneliti, konsultan, dan manajer kualitas dalam pengembangan dan implementasi TQM di sektor manufaktur. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa meskipun penelitian tentang bagian-bagian TQM (seperti alat TQM) sangat banyak, penelitian tentang metodologi TQM secara menyeluruh ternyata tidak banyak. Riset empiris tentang digitalisasi TQM atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Quality 4.0 bahkan belum ada, padahal sudah dipopulerkan sejak tahun 2017 setelah berkembangnya ndustri 4.0.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company that manufactures heavy equipment components made of steel plates. The level of competition in the heavy equipment components industry is getting tighter and customer demands are getting more detailed on the quality of spare parts, thus companies are required to be able to meet customer needs without neglecting the quality and quantity of production target. One of the factors to increase the efficiency of a company globally is to increase productivity, so that customer trust increases and employee welfare improves. Various methods to increase productivity, one of them by using the time study method in the SAW of Assy Bucket section to determine the standard production time, so that the best alternative working methods and optimal results can be selected. As well as policies related to bucket production so that production achievement targets can be taken easily. In addition to improving the working method, it is hoped to improve the skills of the operator so that the quality of the bucket hardening results is above average and minimize the occurrence of reject products. Operating times and waiting cranes that cause delays can be significantly reduced. From the analysis of the time study method, the average normal time is 476.7 minutes. And the standard time reduction is 954.2 minutes.

Abstract

The higher level of cheese consumption, an increase of 52% in the span of 5 years, opens up opportunities for the establishment of cheese factories. This study aimed to analyze the sensory differences of 3 processed cheese products on the market, namely MEG multipurpose cheese (KM), Kraft Cheddar (KK), and Prochiz Gold (KP). Sensory analysis was carried out on 3 samples using a descriptive test on 13 semi-trained panelists. The results of this study were that the panelists preferred KK because it had a distinctive milky aroma and a strong cheese characteristic; stronger milk, cheese, savory, salty flavors; good sliceability; softer texture and mouthfeel. However, for grated results, panelists prefer KP because it had a intact and neat grater product.
