Abstract

Quantitative analysis of cutting removal used in this study uses three methods, namely Cutting Carry Index, Cutting Transport Ratio, and Cutting Concentration in Annulus. This method is used to determine whether the composition of the mud used is maximal or not, starting from the maximum content of solids that can be carried in 1 gal to the viscosity and also the flow pattern of the fluid in order to successfully bring the cutting to the surface. Where these three methods have standardization to determine the cutting can be lifted, including for the cutting carry index method the value must be more than 1, for the cutting transport ratio the value must be greater than 50%, and for cutting concentration in annulus the value must be less than 5%. After analyzing the lifting using the three methods above, it can be seen the parameters in the successful removal of the cutting. These parameters include the physical properties of the fluid which includes the value of density, plastic viscosity, and also the yield point, while other parameters such as drill bit speed, mudflow velocity, cutting diameter are also important parameters in a successful borehole lifting. From the observations of this study, we can conclude that the use of mud in well G field S has been running optimally. The calculation of cutting lift has met the standardization limits. This study also carried out sensitivity analysis as a source of future literature, so that sensitivity analysis parameters can be used if you want to do a well development. This study shows an analysis of cutting lift on a 17.5 inch Route at a depth of 825ft - 2581ft, with an average drilling slope of 4 degrees per 100 ft.

Abstract

The spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in all parts of the world has an impact on various sectors such as the economy, especially the price of world crude oil. This study aims to analyze the influence of the spread of COVID-19 based on the number of positively infected people on world crude oil prices with statistical correlation analysis. The correlation coefficient results in the number -0.726, which means that the variable number of Corona positive people on the world crude oil price variable has a strong and significant relationship. With the increasing number of positive people infected with COVID-19, the world crude oil price actually decreases because the resulting relationship is in the opposite direction through the correlation coefficient, where a very significant decline in world crude oil prices due to the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the global economy.

Abstract

Biodiesel is one of the solutions to future energy problems. One of the abundant biodiesel raw materials in Indonesia is soybean. This study aims to optimize the yield of biodiesel made from soybean oil by selecting the reactor design. This research method uses literature study and thermodynamic calculations from the transesterification reaction of soybean oil and methanol using a MgO catalyst to determine which type of reactor optimizes biodiesel yield. The type of reactor that can help optimize the yield of MgO biodiesel catalyst is a fluidized bed reactor type with an exothermic reaction and a negative Hf value. There is a higher product concentration than the reaction concentration in the scene because the rate constant is higher than one (K > 1), i.e. 1.312. The results of this study are expected to provide information in optimizing the yield of biodiesel from soybean oil.

Abstract

As the huge consumption of rice worldwide, the amount of production waste also increases. The purpose of this study was to investigate rice husk utilization for briquettes solid fuel which has aroused a great concern in the last few decades and growing number of related publications. Therefore, a bibliometric analysis of these publications may provide a direction of novel topics and prospective research trends. The related global literatures published between 2012 and 2021 have been scanned from ScienceDirect collection database. “Biochar briquettes” and “rice husk briquettes” are used as the keywords. VOSviewer is applied to perform the bibliometric analysis of these articles. In the same time, literature review has been done to analyze the research trends on rice husk-based briquetting.  Totally 400 publications on the topic of biochar briquettes were identified and “biomass” with a total link strength of 90 appeared as the most frequent keywords.

Abstract

Field Z is a mature oil and gas field with several production facilities that have passed their service life design, re-assessment of service life for the critical equipment is needed to carry out. This study focuses on identifying the damage mechanism, determining the residual life assessment, and assessing the effect of pressure and temperature on the residual service life of four separators in field Z. The approach is to recalculate the maximum allowable pressure and the minimum thickness of the separator, estimates the corrosion rate using API 510 and API 581, and estimates the residual life assessment of the separator. The result shows that estimation of corrosion rate with API 581 provide lower value than API 510 due to different methodology. However, the result prove that the operating pressure and temperature of separator will affect to the residual life through minimum thickness and corrosion rate, respectively. The higher operating temperature, the higher corrosion rate. Both of these will reduce the residual life. The calculation estimates that at current operation condition, three of four separators in field Z still can be utilize d at least until next five years. While one separator needs to replace immediately considering to the negative remaining service life.
