Abstract

Makasar is a sub-district in East Jakarta Municipality, DKI Jakarta Raya Province. Previously, it was called Kampung Makassar. The women's group in Makasar sub-district already has skills in making dental tampons, perforated cloth mat named ‘duk bolong’, and medical head caps. However, their business/sales distribution knowledge needs to be developed so that their creations can be sold widely and then the result can improve the economy of Makasar sub-district resident. Dental tampon makers in the Makasar sub-district also need counseling regarding the importance of cleanliness in the manufacturing area and supporting equipment for sterilizing the tampons’duk bolong’, and medical head caps so that the products have higher value and ready to use for both public and private use. Besides, the training provided counseling and demonstration on how to create interesting promotion through online media. The results of the counseling are very good and there is an increase in the skills and knowledge of the women in the Makassar sub-district in product manufacture and product marketing.

Abstract

Garbage is the result of human daily activities that are no longer used. If processed with good procedures, organic waste can still be used as a useful product. Eco-enzyme is a versatile liquid produced from the fermentation process of organic matter, sugar and water which functions for mopping, washing clothes, plant growth factors and pest repellents. This community service activity is in the form of educating and training on the use of vegetable and fruit waste as an eco-enzyme for the community, namely the Ibu-Ibu Arisan of Srengseng Urban Village RT 009 RW 005 which is carried out directly. Abstract

Jakarta is listed as one of the cities in the world with the most polluted air quality, with an annual average PM 2.5 of 49.4 g/m³ in 2019. The sources of air pollution in Jakarta among others are the large number of motor vehicles that are not in accordance with the guidelines of safe vehicles for the environment. Online motorcycle taxi drivers are a profession that is at risk of experiencing the effects of this air pollution. Respiratory disorders that can occur such as acute respiratory infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), decreased lung function and lung malignancy. To reduce the risk of respiratory problems that can arise in online motorcycle taxi drivers, efforts are being made to prevent and stop exposure to air pollutants through counseling activities which carried out on November 12, 2023. This activity was attended by 42 online motorcycle taxi drivers. Participants' knowledge was assessed by pre-test and post-test using the Google form to assess participants' cognitive changes. Abstract

The most common source of air pollution in urban areas comes from motor vehicles, which account for 70% of air pollution. Indoor or outdoor air pollution can cause illness and even death. The highest mortality is in countries with low to middle income, namely in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific region with 3.3 million deaths caused by indoor air pollution and 2.6 million deaths caused by outdoor air pollution. Online ojek drivers are a group of workers who are vulnerable to exposure to air pollution as well as exposure to cigarette smoke. So far no studies or counseling activities have been found, especially regarding knowledge about lung health in online ojek drivers, so it is still necessary to hold health service activities in the form of education about the importance of lung health. The activity was held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Trisakti, attended by 30 online ojek drivers in the West Jakarta area. The results obtained through this activity are the increased knowledge of participants about the importance of maintaining lung health as evidenced by the increase in post test scores after attending counseling. The conclusion of this activity went well supported by all related parties starting from the institution, the implementation team and partners who actively participated. Suggestions that we can provide by conducting periodic evaluations of behavior change after receiving counseling.

Abstract

Since early March 2020 until today, COVID-19 case in Indonesia is still a problem, requiring comprehensive efforts to manage and break the chain of transmission. Employees of Yvonne's Catering located in Cipinang Muara, possess oral health problems such as cavities, swollen gums, bad breath, and significant number of tooth loss. These problems affect employees' day-to-day performance – bad breath gets in the way of employees talking to customers, and toothaches affect employees while working in the kitchen. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people were afraid to have their teeth checked by dentists because dental treatment was considered a high risk of transmission of COVID-19 infection. Based on the problems above, Yvonne's Catering employees need training and education about the importance of maintaining oral health to prevent cavities which are closely related to overall health, and providing an understanding of emergency cases that need to be treated immediately to prevent the conditions from worsening that can be life-threatening. Information regarding the importance of implementing the 5M health protocol (wearing mask, washing hands, keeping distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility) to protect oneself from exposure to the COVID-19 virus was also provided, including when visiting dentists. The main purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in maintaining maximum oral hygiene. Other goals in this community service include providing alternatives as an effort to maintain oral hygiene and health by making their own mouthwash using natural ingredients from their surroundings, such as Ocimum basilicum.
