Abstract

Introduction. The successful management of pulmonary TB can be seen by evaluating the results of treatment. Evaluation of the success in intensive phases of treatment visits and evaluation of bacteriological namely the conversion of BTA (+) sputum (-). This study aimed to analyze the infl uence of side effects the drugs and nutritional status of the BTA conversion failure. Methods. Types of analytical research with case control approach, which was done in Pulmonary Medicine Center of Medan. The study population consisted of the population, namely the case of patients who failed conversion of BTA (+) and a control population that patients with smear conversion (-) after undergoing intensive treatment phase. Samples in the case group were 32 cases and samples in the control group 64 cases. Data were analyzed by Chi-Square test. Result. Results showed variable drug side effects and signifi cantly affect the status of the failure of BTA conversion value (p = 0.022) and (p = 0.041). Discussion. Needs to be improved the ability of health workers to carry out the treatment of side effects the drugs by the availability of pharmaceutical preparations in order to side-effects that occur do not result in the cessation of the patient to take medication.Keywords: Side effects of drugs, nutritional status, conversion BTA

Abstract

Introduction. Childs stimulation from the outside environment is form of training or playing. Stimulation is a very important requirement for the growth and development of children. Children who get a lot of targeted stimulation will quickly develop. The purpose of this study was to know the corelation of socialization stimulation progression with the development of preschool children’s. Methods. Research design was Quasi Ekperiment with prospective method. Populations in this study were children aged 36-47 months with number of samples 23 respondents. Research’s instrument used questionnaires and observation sheets. Data were processed by looking at the distribution and frequency, mean value and statistical Chi-Square Test. Result. From the result of research was obtained 1) Stimulation given on early stimulation stag, with good category 47.8%, aftergiven the good category stimulation category 87.0%. 2) Development of socialization with good category was 87.0% on age group 36-47 month. 3) Results of the statistical test shoed that there was correlation of stimulation progression with children’s socialization development. Discussion. Social personal development was strongly infl uenced by environment and interaction among children and parents or other adult childrens. Abstract

Introduction. Mental health problems that often appear in elderly is anxieties that happens countinously for a long time, it can make very severe exhaustion and event death. The purpose of this study was to identifi ed the correlation prayer’s regulation with level of anxiety to continue age in PSTW budhi luhur bantul. Method. The method used in this study was an analytic survey with cross sectional approach. Engineering samples were taken mainly by using purposive sampling. Test the validity used the formula koefesien biserial correlation and reliability testing using the Kuder-Richardson (KR20). Result. Statistical analysis test used the formula Kendall-Tau. This study showed that there was a correlation between regularity of prayer with the level of anxiety in the elderly in PSTW Budi Luhur Bantul shown from the value of the correlation Kendall-Tau (τ) = 0.585 with p value of 0.000. Discussion. It was recommended to PTSW Budhi Luhur Bantul more intensive to accompany elderly in pray activities.Keywords: Regularity Prayer, Anxiety, Elderly.

Abstract

Introduction. Dysmenorhea is pain that feel during fi rst or second day in menstruation cycles. The purpose of this study was to identify the infl uence of healthy menstruation packet to dysmenorhea that feel by adolescent in Patra Mandiri 1High School Palembang. Method. This study used experiment study with pre-post test with control group design. Total samples were acquired by non probability sampling with simple sampling. Total samples of this study were 34 respondents with 17 respondents in intervention group and 17 respondents in control group. Instrument of this study used questionnaires and observation. Result. This study showed that there was difference of dysmenorhea before and after did healthy menstruation packet in intervention group (p value=0,000). Discussion. For school can increase knowledge about reproduction healthy in women especially related to handling dysmenorhea and provision health education through the integration with health institute.Keyword: dysmenorhea, healthy menstruation packet, reproduction

Abstract

Introduction. Hypertension is a disorder that inhibited the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the body’s tissue inhibited and makes. The one of theraphy that can be used to control blood pressure is by eating watermelon regulary. The purpose of this study was to identify effectiveness watermelon fruit (Citrullus vulgaris) against blood pressure for elderly with hypertension. Methods. This study used Quasi Experimental design with pretest-posttest design. The numbers of samples were 12 people, that using total sampling as sampling tecnique. Analysis was performed by T-Test Dependent test. Result. Statistical analysis result showed there were any differences of blood pressure before and after treatment, with the average difference = systole 3.5mmHg and diastole 2.5mmHg. P = systole 0.000, diastole 0.049. Discussion. It can be concluded that there were any differences of giving watermelon for the blood pressure on samples with hypertention. It was highly recomanded to patients with hypertension to consume watermelon regulary.Keywords: Citrullus Vulgaris, Elderly, Hypertension

Abstract

Introduction. Adolescent is a period growth and development between children and adult. Cancer diagnosed at adolescent age can made them under pressure and full of stress. The aim of the study was to explore a deeper description about quality of life of adolescent with cancer. Method. The study used phenomenology descriptive design with purposive sampling. In-depth interview was held on six adolescent with cancer. Transcript verbatim was analyzed using Colaizzi. Result. The themes were dimension of physical, cognitive, psychology, social, adaptive coping mechanism, and hope. The study concluded that adolescent with cancer dealing with many changing on quality of life but some can build adaptive coping mechanism with their condition and increased their quality of life. Discussion. Child nurse have a big role to increase quality of life of adolescent with cancer by giving a holistic and comprehensive nursing care.Keyword: adolescent, cancer, quality of life, phenomenology

Abstract

Introduction. Early management of head injury patient in Emergency Department will affect the outcome and Length of Stay mild head injury patient in the hospital. The research aimed to analyze GCS as predictor factors associated Length of Stay patient in the hospital. Methods. This study was correlational analytic approach with cross sectional. Technique sampling in this study used purposive sampling. The number of samples used 41 patient were taken from the primary data which doing the observations on the mild head injury patients who come to emergency department from April until June 2014 at Pirngadi General Hospital Medan. Data was collected by observation and questionnaire. Result. The results of the analysis used Spearman test showed that there was correlation between GCS with Length of Stay of mild head injury patients p 0.00, r -0,637. Discussion. Higher value of GCS So length of stay a mild head injury patients in Pirngadi General Hospital Medan also shorter .Keywords: Mild head injury, outcome head injury, predictor Length of Stay, Emergency Department

Abstract

Introduction. Elderly has decreased in many body system including the impact on sleep disorder. The purpose of this study was to analize effect of geriatric gymnastic on sleep quality of the elderly. Methods. This research used quasy experiment methods with pre and post test only non equivalent control group design. The population in this study was the elderly as many as 82 people. Sample in this research was 30 participants that are defi ned with total sampling method who was appropriated with the criteria. Sampel was devided into two groups which are 15 people of intervention group and 15 people of control group. Data instrument in measuring the quality of sleep used PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) by observation. Result. There was a signifi cant effect of geriatric gymnasticon sleep quality of the elderly at Tresna Werdha Senjarawi Social Home Bandung with t-test, p-value 0.000 or < 0.05. Discussion. The geriatric gymnastics can be designed more interest the elderly to follow this activities regulary so can overcome sleep disorders in the elderly.Keywords : Quality of Sleep, Geriatric Gymnastic, Elderly

Abstract

Introduction. Previous studies have found that severe stress can occur in nursing students because of their education system; however there have not been any studies to address stress in nursing students, conducted in Indonesian. The studies reinforce that stress in nursing students, is an important factor for nursing lecturers to consider in nursing education. Students felt helpless when they could not change situations they did not like and complained that the learning approach was authoritarian. This study identifi ed stressors in nursing students and effect of stress in the students’ learning process. Method. A case study was used with cognitive appraisal theory from Lazarus and Folkman (1984), as the theoretical proposition. Data was collected by utilizing in-depth interviews with nursing students. Results. There were fi ve evident themes found in this study related to stress and its effect on the students’ learning process. These Themes were: (1). Dormitory living, (2). Learning in the school, (3). Learning in the clinical setting, (4). Personal and socialbeliefs, and (5). Short-term and long-term effects. Discussion. Results indicated that education process used in this particular school of nursing, created stress which impacted adversely on the students’ learning process. Abstract

Introduction. Malnutrition is a common problem in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) with Diabetes Mellitus and Non-Diabetes Mellitus. Assessments of nutritional status in CRF patients are required to measure some important parameters including serum albumin and hemoglobin. This study aimed to fi gure out the differences of nutritional status between CRF patients with diabetes mellitus and without diabetes mellitus in the inpatient unit of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta, by examining the levels of albumin and hemoglobin serum. Methods. This study applied cross sectional method of which measuring instruments were patients’ medical records of laboratory tests. This research used accidental sampling method involving 30 patients as samples. Result. The results of independent t-test showed that there was no signifi cant differences between the levels of albumin (p = 0.917) and hemoglobin (p = 0.168) between the group of non DM CRF patients and CRF patients with  M. Discussion. Therefore, further research should be performed by using a larger sample size as well as considering patients’ historical background of hemodialysis treatment.Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Chronic Renal Failure (CRF), albumin, hemoglobin
