Abstract

Most of the population of Sukoharjo Regency have a livelihood as farmers and farm laborers. At this time, almost all the farmers and farm laborers are old farmers. This is due to the phenomenon of aging farmers and reduced youth workforce and the low interest of the millennial generation in work in agriculture. This study aims to find out how the millennial generation is interested in jobs in agriculture and to find out the factors that influence the interest of the millennial generation. The research method used is qualitatively descriptive. The results showed that the millennial generation's interest in working in agriculture in Kartasura District and Bendosari District, Sukoharjo Regency was seen from perception, involvement, attention, and motivation. There are two factors that influence the interest of the millennial generation, namely driving factors and inhibiting factors. The driving factors include inheritance of agricultural land, introduction of agriculture by parents, sharing of knowledge about agriculture by parents, supporting natural resources, encouragement from the government, and being able to open jobs in agriculture. Inhibiting factors include limited agricultural land, non-agricultural work, low social status, no interest in agriculture, no formal education in agriculture, and lack of family income in agriculture.

Abstract

The addition of biological fertilizers is expected to affect the growth and yield of shallot bulbs. In addition to having a positive impact on soil fertility, it also has an impact on efficiency if the microbial ecosystem has developed so that the use of external inputs such as chemical fertilizers can be suppressed. This study aims to describe the implementation of shallot cultivation in Sedan District and to determine the effect of using biological fertilizers in increasing shallot production. The research was carried out in the BPP Sedan experimental field from August 1 to October 9, 2022. Treatment consists of Non-Biological Fertilizer (NPH) and Treatment With Biological Fertilizer (DPH). Observations were carried out at the age of the plants 7 hst, 14 hst, 21 hst, 28 hst, 35 hst, and 42 hst. Plant performance includes leaf length, number of leaves and number of tillers. Yields were weighed at harvest at each point. The results showed that there were differences in the length of the leaves, the number of tillers and the weight of the shallot bulbs. The conclusion is the addition of biological fertilizers increases productivity significantly.

Abstract

The right planting medium will help produce good growth and yields. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of planting media using a drip irrigation system on the growth and yield of melon plants. The research method used was experimental using Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Treatment in this study consisted of P1 (chaff charcoal and cocopeat), P2 (cocopeat and zeolite), and P3 (husk charcoal and zeolite) with a composition of 50%:50%. Results showed that there was an effect of using cocopeat, husk charcoal, and zeolite planting media on the number of leaves, stem diameter, fruit weight, fruit water content, level of fruit sweetness, and plant height. Cocopeat and zeolite (50%:50%) growing media gave the best growth and yield, tem diameter with a final thickness of 11mm, the final number of leaves was 42 leaves, average fruit weight was 1.3kg, the highest fruit moisture content was 92% and level of sweetness highest 15 brix.

Abstract

Fresh food from plant origin (PSAT) has characteristics which are susceptible to insect pests and plant diseases. Consequently, utilization of pesticides can be used as an alternative for farmers, as the result, PSAT is often polluted by pesticide residues. Factor of food quality and safety are the main problems in product improvement and marketing of PSAT, it must be a concern of farmers, traders and consumers for quality and health. Improper post-harvest handling, the use of fertilizers and pesticides that are not in accordance with regulations have brought Indonesian PSAT products to a low food safety guarantee status and a high level of contamination. The aims of this study is to determine the level of contamination of pesticide residues on cayenne pepper, curly chilies, tomatoes, cabbage, and celery. There were 30 types of pesticides tested, including: gamma chlordane; 2.4-DDT; 4.4-DDD; 4.4-DDE; 4.4-DDT; aldrin; alpha-BHC; beta-BHC; chlordane; chlorothalonyl; cis-chlordane; DDT; dichlorant; dieldrine; endosulfan; endosulfan I; endosulfan II; endosulfan sulfate; endrine; gamma-BHC; heptachlor; heptachlor epoxide; hexachlorbenzene; oxychlordane; quintozene; technazene; transchlordant; dicofol; methoxychlor; tolclofos-methyl in PSAT samples which obtained from groups of female farmers and traders in East Langowan, West Langowan and North Tondano. The results showed that all of the samples contributed the number of pesticide residues below the maximum pesticide residue limit (BMR), thereby PSAT relatively safe for consumption. In fact, women farmer groups and traders in East Langowan, West Langowan and North Tondano are aware on the dangers effect by using pesticides at every stage of agriculture which can cause pesticide residues may be remained in agricultural product which provide negative impact on human health and environment

Abstract

The development of farmer groups is very important. The thing that needs to be considered in group development is group dynamics. This study aims to: (1) Determine the level of dynamics of dryland farmer groups in Paranggupito District, Wonogiri Regency and (2) analyze factors that affect the level of dynamics of dryland farmer groups in Paranggupito District, Wonogiri Regency. The research location was selected purposively in Paranggupito District, Wonogiri Regency. The sampling technique uses a multistage random sampling technique with a total sample of 47 farmer groups. Data analysis using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the level of dynamics of dryland farmer groups in Paranggupito District, Wonogiri Regency was less dynamic. Factors that have a significant influence on the level of farmer group dynamics are the leadership style of the group leader, the availability of information and the intensity of agricultural extension.

Regions Indonesia strive to be the best to advance and develop each region. The development of each region needs to be carried out, one of the efforts made is through village entrepreneurship. Village entrepreneurship can be accommodated in BUMDes which is developed through village government and village communities. The formation of BUMDes can be a solution to problems in the economy of rural communities by optimizing the potential of the village. This study aims to describe the process of establishing BUMDes in Kaliwedi Village, analyze the function of BUMDes as an effort to improve the economy in Kaliwedi Village, and analyze the support for business aspects that exist in BUMDes in Kaliwedi Village. This research method uses qualitative methods with a descriptive analysis approach. Locations were chosen purposively or deliberately in Kaliwedi Village. The determination of informants was carried out purposively, as well as the use of source and method triangulation methods. The results of this study stated that the process of establishing BUMDes Karya Mandiri Kaliwedi Village in 2014 already had BUMDes but it was called LKD, in 2019 Kaliwedi Village registered LKD as BUMDes and incorporated as BUMDes Karya Mandiri. The functions of BUMDes Karya Mandiri according to Government Regulation No. 11 of 2021 have eight functions, namely: 1) Consolidation of village community goods and/service products; 2) Production of goods and/services; 3) Shelter, buyers, marketing of village community products; 4) Village community business incubation; 5) Stimulation and dynamics of village community economic enterprises; 6) Services for basic and general needs for village communities; 7) Increasing the benefits and economic value of cultural wealth, religiosity and natural resources; and 8) Increasing the added value of village assets and village original income. Abstract

In efforts to minimize the use of inorganic fertilizers and support farmers in using and supplying organic fertilizers independently, the government facilitates providing assistance in the form of Organic Fertilizer Processing Units (UPPO). It is hoped that the availability of organic fertilizers can lead to organic farming. This study aims to determine the role of UPPO on the income of lowland rice farmers in Deli Serdang district and to analyze other factors besides UPPO that affect farmers' income. This research was conducted on eight beneficiary farmer groups spread over seven sub-districts in Deli Serdang district with a total population of 70 farmers. The research method uses analysis of validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and regression analysis. The results showed that all research variables separately had a significant effect on farmers' income.
