Abstract

Nipah-Nipah plants grow mostly in the confluence of rivers and seas. This plant has the potential to maximize all parts of the tree. Nipah fruit can be used for Nata Frutican and the basic ingredients for making flour. Unused fruit shells have a hard texture, similar to the texture of coconut shells. To increase the calorific value of this fruit peel charcoal, a pyrolysis process is carried out. The samples were separated from the following waste and dried in direct sunlight. The dry sample is crushed and then put into the combustion reactor. Pyrolysis was carried out at a constant temperature of 500°C with variations in the heating rate of 2°C/minute, 4°C/minute, 6°C/minute, 8°C/minute, and 10°C/minute and holding time for 1 hour. The results showed that the calorific value decreased with increasing heating rate. The highest calorific value is at the lowest heating rate. The calorific value at a heating rate of 2°C/minute is 6841, 02 cal/gram. ; 4°C/minute calorific value is 6811.59 cal/gram; 6°C/minute of 6745.07 cal/gram; 8°C/minute is 6656.59 cal/gram and at 10°C/minute is 6570.41 cal/gram

Abstract

Damage to roads in the Balikpapan area is a problem that recurs every year. The patchwork project is a scene in itself at the locations where roads are damaged. The causes of road damage have long been studied by researchers from the civilian field. Research related to the road structure and the underlying rock engineering conditions has been carried out. The purpose of this research is to prove that apart from the influence of the characteristics of the road structure and its rocks, the effect of geological fractures can also be considered. This study uses the main data to measure the direction of the road cracks and the direction of the geological fault. The data is then analyzed how far it affects one another. Based on the measurement data of the direction of the cracks on the highway and the drawing of geological structure straightness through satellite images which are then compared, the results show that there are similarities in the direction of the cracks and the geological structure in Balikpapan. These directions are Northwest - West - Southwest with Southeast-East-Northeast. Therefore, it can be concluded that the effect of cracks on the road has a direct influence on the geological structure in Balikpapan.

Abstract

Natural gas coming out of a well that has the same characteristics. Natural gas such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and H2S and water vapor are separated before natural gas is put into the process. This is very important because all three gases are corrosive and toxic. CO2 is an acidic gas, with the presence of water vapor will cause CO2 to be more corrosive and the freezing point of CO2 higher than methane ie the freezing point of CO2 is -56 ° C which will later cause blockages in the heat exchanger tubes (5E-1) whose temperature can reach -150 ° C. Methyldiethanolamine is a clear, colorless or pale yellow liquid with an ammonia odor. Methyldiethanolamine dissolves with water, alcohol and benzene. The study uses correlation and regression analysis methods that aim to see how influential the concentration of aMDEA is in absorbing CO2. Data analysis uses regression equations and coefficient of determination. Based on observations obtained that the effect of aMDEA concentration on CO2 absorption is fairly weak or has little effect because the coefficient of determination is 0.0012 or 1.2% which indicates that the relationship is very weak or has little effect.

Abstract

Water is one of the basic needs in the life of creatures on this earth. Water is used for the body's metabolism, both humans and other living things. Thus, improving water quality is very necessary because it is very influential for the health of humans and other living things. Therefore, the water filter is designed so that this goal is achieved. Not only, water but environmental health is very important. So, this water filter is designed using solar cell technology, which is one of the ideas of renewable energy, and utilizes moringa seeds (moringa oleifera). This water filter is designed using solar panels and batteries as a source of electrical energy. The panel is coupled and will flow energy from the sun. That energy will be absorbed and received by the battery. This water filter uses a coagulation method and also a natural filter that utilizes fibers, silica sand, zeolite stones, and activated carbon. The process of this filter is to compare the input values detected by the sensor, the pH sensor and the turbidity sensor.

Abstract

Foraminifera fossils will provide information on the relative age and depositional environment in the rock layers. foraminifera Fossil itself consists of two types, plankton and benthic foraminifera, which in a rock cannot be determined easily. Required methods are used to be able to decipher fossil foraminifera in the rock bodies. This method is called microfossil preparation. The precision in the execution process of the preparation will be very helpful in the process of further analysis of the fossil, which is the stage of determination. This stage will determine genus to species (taxonomy) of an organism based on the characteristics of each foraminifera. Each of the characteristics of foraminifera will show a unique tendency, both in the habitat when the organism is still alive until it can undergo fossilization.

Abstract

Multiple in marine seismic data is the noise formed due to the high impedance contrast at the boundary between layer. Multiple interferes the data processing that will also affect the interpretation of subsurface image. The use of seismic reflection in ocean has become an activity that is often performed with a variety of purposes, to map the subsurface. The basic objective of seismic data processing is to convert the recorded information from the field into data that can be interpreted. One goal of seismic data processing is to eliminate or reduce the noise of reverberation and multiples as well as enhance the signal to noise ratio. The data are a 2D marine reflection seismic data with SEG-Y format that will be processed with using ProMAX software. SEG-Y data are combined with field geometry data in processing of header load, then is carried out noise reduction (trace editing and filtering), and seismic signal amplification (deconvolution and TAR).

Abstract

Characterization of the depositional environment is carried out by means of facies modeling analysis based on electrofacies which can provide rapid information about the depositional system of a rock formation. The purpose of this research is to interpret the determination of the depositional environment in the research area for the further development of exploration / exploitation of hydrocarbons. Methodology applied is gamma ray log interpretation (log GR) using the relative correlation between log shape variations and sedimentation facies. The approach in this study uses the interpretation of the log response pattern results including Serrated, Blocky, and Bell. Based on log interpretation, study area was deposited on transitional lower delta plain zone.
