Abstract

The National Education Standards Agency (BSNP) is important in developing national education standards and aspects of the appropriateness of textbooks used in the learning process. However, very few studies have analyzed the suitability of textbooks based on BSNP standards. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the feasibility of Arabic textbooks based on BSNP. A qualitative design with a library research type is used to analyze textbooks. The results of this research prove that the MI class IV Arabic textbook prepared by Agus Wahyudi has met BSNP standards in terms of appropriateness of content, appropriateness of language, appropriateness of material presentation, and appropriateness of graphics with a score of 82.63% with a "very appropriate" predicate. Implications and recommendations for future research are discussed in this study.

Abstract

This paper will discuss implementing the drill/practice method for learning Arabic with a communicative approach. This study uses a descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research were all 7G class students at MTs Negeri Kota Batu. The data collected is in the form of the latest learning information data, the number of students, and data on the implementation of learning methods. Data collection using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out according to the theory of Miles and Huberman, with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The result indicates that the drill method with a communicative approach is implemented through three steps. Firstly, the planning stage involves preparing a learning program plan. Secondly, the implementation stage applies the drill method based on the characteristics of the communicative approach. Lastly, the evaluation phase employs formative evaluation techniques. The study identifies four supporting factors for the method's application: student participation, cognitive abilities, clarity of instruction, and availability of learning facilities. This study provides valuable insights and knowledge to improve Arabic language teaching for teachers and researchers to develop additional learning on more functional skills.

Abstract

University students generally study Arabic with the aim of understanding Islamic study sources such as the Al-Qur'an and hadith, specifically as a means of verbal and written communication. However, from the results of initial observations, researchers found that the interest and motivation of students at one of the State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) in Indonesia in mastering Arabic still needed to be higher. In an effort to overcome this problem, the PTKIN management created a program called al-liqo al-usbuiyyah using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model. Therefore, this research aims to explore the efforts made by PTKIN management to foster student interest and motivation in mastering Arabic. A qualitative descriptive research method with a case study approach was used in this research. The results of this research show that the al-liqo al-usbuiyyah program using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model runs well and is proven to be able to increase student interest and motivation in mastering Arabic. This research also describes several obstacles experienced in implementing this program, such as limited time, busy and varied lecture schedules, students' psychological conditions, and heterogeneous initial understanding of members.

Abstract

Numerous studies suggest that teaching vocabulary poses challenges due to teachers' uncertainty about effective methods. Based on six years of academic experience at Slavaring Islamic School, difficulties in vocabulary learning stem from students' inability to apply vocabulary in conversations and a lack of classroom concentration, often exacerbated by negative learning experiences. To address this, multimedia, including text, audio, and video, is proposed to make vocabulary learning enjoyable. Duolingo, an educational program encompassing various activities like listening, reading, writing, and grammar, is highlighted as a valuable tool for vocabulary teaching. This research adopts a quasi-experimental design involving eighth-grade students at Slavaring Islamic Senior High School. The experimental group, taught using Duolingo, demonstrated enhanced vocabulary retention compared to the control group. Empirical evidence, obtained through multiple-choice tests and pre-tests, indicates a positive impact of Duolingo on vocabulary acquisition. Statistical analysis with a 5% significance level affirms the effectiveness of Duolingo, showcasing its potential to enhance vocabulary learning for eighth-grade students at Slavaring Islamic Junior High School in the academic year 2023/2024.
