At-Tabayyuun: Journal Islamic Studies (P-ISSN: 2477-5614; e-ISSN: 3021-8659) is a multi-disciplinary publication dedicated to the scholarly study of all aspects of Islam and of the Islamic world. Particular attention is paid to works dealing with history, geography, political science, economics, anthropology, sociology, law, literature, religion, philosophy, international relations, environmental and developmental issues, as well as ethical questions related to scientific research. The Journal seeks to place Islam and the Islamic tradition as its central focus of academic inquiry and to encourage comprehensive consideration of its many facets; to provide a forum for the study of Islam and Muslim societies in their global context; to encourage interdisciplinary studies of the Islamic world that are cross-national and comparative; to promote the diffusion, exchange, and discussion of research findings; and to encourage interaction among academics from various traditions of learning.

Abstract

Some theories describe how powerful and influential media in the life of society and the state. In developed countries whose governments to be democratic, the media and even positioned as the fourth pillar of democracy (the fourt estate). But it turns out in certain circumstances of a country, the media can also be fully controlled object and should follow the wishes of the ruler. The media in Indonesia is one of the bad experience in the history of his way when this country under the rule of the New Order regime. Controlling and controlled to be two things that run contradictory. On the one hand, the media should carry out social functions, including overseeing the policies taken by the government. But on the other hand, the media are also shackled by the government to harness the power of the instrument, to curb the grip even in the media so as not free expression and speech. Gait media against the government and politics in the new order after the reform and thus contrasts. Abstract

The complexity of the effects of mass media influence penetrated almost all aspects of life, not only in the world of politics, economics, law and education, mass melainkanmedia also able to regulate human life, from waking to sleep again. How not, the media set to be used Sampho brands, car brands should be purchased, and even how we should be acting as a political figure, investigate the perpetrators of crimes and presenting entertainments desired audiences. Abstract

Acehnese people is known as a religious community. Islamic religion plays an important role in directing the behavior of everyday society. This is reflected in the traditional art that developed in the life of the people of Aceh. This paper seeks to examine the elements of Islamic found in traditional media Aceh. In this case a form of dance or art speech because this art is a broadcast media propaganda in Islam of Kesulthanan Ocean Pasai to various regions in the archipelago even to Southeast Asia. This exploratory study used a qualitative approach. The study found that the traditional art of Aceh in line with the rules and guidelines laid down by Islam. Other Islamic spirit reflected in the art of Aceh in the form of the art of motion and sound art is all art is always accompanied with a poem that contains the elements and values of propaganda.

Abstract

Culture is derived from the word buddhayah (Sanskrit), meaning the mind or intellect. In Latin, the word culture comes from Colere, which berartti tilling the soil. So culture in general can be interpreted as "everything that is produced by the intellect (mind) of man with the aim to meet the needs of life and the environment". Culture theory that includes the theory of Selective Process and Cultivation theory role of the media see the mass media as a window on events and experriece. The media is seen as a window that allows the audience to see what is happening there. Or media is a means to learn to know the different events. How does the media influence of traditional culture and local culture of Indonesia and created a new culture of contemporary or contemporary and more violent or global pop culture that began infecting every culture in the world, in particular Indonesian Aceh alone. How can we be wise and positive in dealing with any new culture and preserve the old culture.

Abstract

The strength and degree of the influence of mass media on the cultural, social and economic at least illustrated by assuming a number of theories of the effects of mass media were presented by experts in mass communications in since the beginning of the mid-1960s, following the presence of media technologies of television and radio complement newspaper media earlier in United States of America. Scientific research conducted then, both in the US alone as well as in third countries only reinforces the assumption of previous theories, namely that the influence of the mass media in people's lives more and can not be negotiable, even the mass media offers new ideology, understand the new, new lifestyles and so on. People increasingly can not avoid myself from media exposure, but only one option to adjust in order to include media literacy audiences, so as not to be swayed by media coverage
