Abstract

The mango plant (Mangifera indica L.) is a plant that is often found around. Empirically, this plant has been widely used in traditional medicine around the world, one of which is ayuverda treatment from India. Due to these many empirical functions, many studies have been conducted on the pharmacological activities of mango plants. This article discusses the pharmacological activities and phytochemical tests that have been investigated and confirmed both in vitro and in vivo with the literature review method. The results obtained show the presence of several compounds found in mango plants such as: alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, tannins, phenols and steroids. Because of the compounds contained in mango plants, there are several pharmacological activities including: antioxidant activity, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, anti-hyperlipidemia, anti-hyperglycemia, antimicrobial, antiobesity, antifungal, antidiarrheal, and antitumor, among others.

Abstract

This scientific paper discusses the procedures for dispensing glasses with progressive lenses for presbyopia patients at Optik Jaya Padang. This Study aims to determine: (1) How is the refractive examination procedure for presbyopia patients at Optik Jaya. (2) How is the Dispensing Procedure of Glasses with Progressive Lenses for Presbyopia Patients at Optik Jaya Padang. This research design uses descriptive qualitative methods. The population in this study was an Optisien Refractionist at Optik Jaya Padang during July 10-11, 2023. The sampling technique used total sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and research instruments using Check List. The results of the study, respondents in Optik Jaya padang were 1 person, namely Refractionist Optisien. The results showed that 9 questions (100%) of respondents knew and understood the refractive examination procedures for presbyopia patients. 10 questions (88.5%) of respondents performed and knew the procedures of dispensing spectacles with progressive lenses for presbyopia patients and (11.5%) of respondents did not perform the procedure of dispensing spectacles with progressive lenses for presbyopia patients. Based on the results of this study, there are several suggestions, namely: (1) It is recommended to the RO to dispense glasses with progressive lenses in accordance with all dispensing procedures. (2) It is recommended to Optics, to always maintain quality in optics and maintain consumer confidence in optics. (3) It is recommended to researchers, make this research as a means of developing knowledge and research obtained during lectures and opening up broader insights into thinking, and being able to apply it in the workplace and in the midst of society.

Abstract

This scientific paper discusses the Difficulty of Using Progressive Lenses in Presbiopia Patiens in Andalas Optical. This study aims to: (1) find out what are the difficulties experienced by presbyopic patients with progressive lens use at Andalas Optical, and (2) to find out how to handle the difficulties experienced by presbyiopic patient with progressive lens use at Barran Optical. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all patients with prebyopia who wore progressive lenses during the study. The sampling in this research is the total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, then the data were discussed according to the theory proposed in the literature review. The results showed that the respondents showed (67%) difficulty in using progressive lenses and (33%) comfortabel in using progressive lenses in presbyopic patients. From these results, it can be understood that many respondents with prebyopia find it difficult to use progressive lenses and there are some respondents who are comfortabel wearing their glasses with progressive lenses. Based on the results of this study, there are several suggestions submitted to respondents so that (1) patients should pay more attention to eye health (2) have their eyes checked once every 6 months or at least 1 time 1 year in order to find out how the development of vision. To Barran Optical RO to choose the rightframe for progressive lens wearers and lenses that match the frame and provide education in the use of progressive lenses.

Abstract

This scientific paper discusses the selection of photochromic lenses for exposure to ultraviolet light at Optik Rindani, Solok City. This research aims to find out: (1) find out how to overcome exposure to ultraviolet light at Optik Rindani, Solok City. (2) find out the choice of photoromic lenses at Optik Rindani, Solok City. This research design uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population in this study were all Pure Optik Rindani patients in Solok City with a sample of 30 respondents. Data was collected through a questionnaire, then the data was discussed in accordance with the theory proposed in the literature review. The results of this research showed that the average frequency of respondents who answered the questionnaire items with the answer "Yes" was 13 people with a percentage of 42.6% and the total average frequency of respondents who answered the questionnaire items "No '' as many as 17 people with a percentage of 57.4%. From these results, it can be said that 57.4% of respondents at Optik Rindani Kota Solok do not know how to deal with exposure to ultraviolet rays and the total average frequency of respondents who answered the questionnaire questions with the answer "Yes" was 21 people with the percentage was 71.0% and the total average frequency of respondents who answered the questionnaire items "No" was 9 people with a percentage of 29.0%. From these results, it can be said that 71.0% of respondents at Optik Rindani, Solok City chose to use photochromic lenses.
