Abstract

This article aims to provide input on the efforts needed by the ISBN Team to optimize the use of Books in Print (BIP). The recommendation offered is the placement of Books in Print (BIP) on ISBN web pages so that BIP can be quickly, interactively and more widely utilized, both by the publisher as a promotional tool and by the library as a selection tool in collection development.

Abstract

Being a librarian is not an easy job. Especially in the information age like today. Various types of information manipulation are often carried out, even by academic people who uphold the value of honesty. This paper aims to provide information to the reader, that librarians have more role in the problem of information manipulation, especially regarding plagiarism that occurs in the academic environment (universities). The author uses the case study method that occurred at UPT. Muhammadiyah Ponorogo University Library. From this paper, it is known that the majority of students choose to consult with librarians to solve their plagiarism problems.

Abstract

Organizations cannot be separated from the process of interaction. This interaction cannot be limited in scope which is only limited to communication that occurs within the organization. Because in reality the pattern of interactions that occur within the organization ultimately addressed to the public outside the organization concerned. Organizations, be they small, medium or large, basically will always need a touch of active communication to foster public participation in the development of company operations All communication activities carried out by the organization are the tasks of the public relations department, although it is possible that in practice the public relations will coordinate and cooperate with other parts of the organization to carry out communication activities to achieve the stated goals.

Abstract

This paper tries to explore the contribution and experience as a librarian to conduct research in various countries with different themes. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability and professionalism of librarians as research partners in helping researchers conduct research. The methodology used in this research is descriptive analysis which takes two locations (countries) where the research is Japan and the Netherlands. The Sources of data used as population and object of research are the results of interviews, observations and sources of references from the results of searching for library information used by researchers. The results of this study are to provide an overview of the ability of librarians to search for information to know and find sources of information in various media both books, scientific journals, and other online media that support lecturer research as research partners who are needed. The practice of collaborating with librarians in certain fields will demonstrate the competence and role of librarians who are very strategic in the success of a research program. Equally important is the recognition of research partners and the contribution of librarians to a study. Research collaboration between lecturers and librarians as research partners will increase the number of research publications in journals of national and international repute and good communication between lecturers and librarians.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain in full about the application of the concept of library management in accordance to the principles taught in Islam which can be implemented in building an Islamic library. This research used qualitative research methods that are library research (library research) which used books and other literature as the main object with descriptive analysis to provide a clear, objective, systematic, analytical and critical description of the principles. - Islamic library management principles. From the conclusion of the research discussion, it was found that the concept of Islamic library management is always based on the principles and values of monotheism that exist in the Al-Qur'an and Al-Hadith as the main reference that must be practiced in every aspect of life including the application of various Islamic principles in managing. library organization for the good and progress of the people. The application of management principles taught in Islam which can be implemented in building an Islamic library includes aspects of planning, organizing, leadership and supervision. In planning an Islamic library means determining what will be done in the future or achieving something in the future which is based on God's approval is the theological foundation of action. In the process of planning an Islamic library, each individual or group first makes a decision while still paying attention to deliberation and then submits the final provisions to Allah's decision on its success as an attitude of submitting to Allah's provisions. Once planned, the plan is implemented with all the potential and available resources. In organizing an Islamic library it can be said to be solid and good if it has clear characteristics, goals and realities. In leadership in the library, there is a need for good examples and role models, which are displayed by Rasululllah SAW to serve as a personality model for each leader as uswatun hasanah (good role model). In Islamic library supervision, emphasizes the theological awareness of the presence of Allah SWT as the first supervisor in every person, place and situation. This awareness must be cultivated from the depths of monotheism. Even though it cannot be reached with the eye, Allah SWT still sees everything that is visible because Allah knows best.

Abstract

The National Library of Indonesia’s chat reference services was run for two months on May 16, 2020. Reference librarians who become chat administrators did not get special debriefing. They got only reading material that is related with virtual reference services. The initial evaluation of the chat reference librarian would be done. The evaluation was use the Reference Behavior Performance Guide and Information Service Providers from the Reference and User Services Association. The purpose of the evaluation is to obtain best practices. This research was use content analysis methods with qualitative perspective. The sample was selected with the specified criteria in order to obtain a transaction reference transcript which is assumed to be obtained aspect of behavior that desired. The findings found best practices from every aspect of the evaluation of reference librarians.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model of information literacy guidance related to the role of college librarians during the Covid 19 pandemic. The source of the data is obtained by observing the college repository access model, and conducting a library study of students' information literacy abilities in finding reference sources scientific to support the lecture process. Samples were taken from college which were included in cluster 1 of Indonesian college clustering which were released by Kemristekdikti in 2019. The results showed that most of the college repositories still applied limited access and closed access. In addition, the ability of digital literacy of students is still low, even though they are already classified as a native digital generation. This research concludes that the digital literacy learning model that is compiled needs to consider the behavior and habits of the user during their online lectures and learning from home, by utilizing information technology, and social media as a media for publication and promotion.

Abstract

Improving the quality of scientific papers has become a concern of many circles, especially by universities. Various universities in Indonesia have now subscribed to applications or technology-based systems that are used to detect the level of similarity of a paper with other existing works. This paper aims to provide a conceptual framework model for application acceptance or a plagiarism checker system based on a review of various relevant writings and literature. The model of academic integrity and belief in technology is considered to have significance for the acceptance of the academic community towards the implementation of the plagiarism checker application or system. This model is based on reading and analyzing various relevant writings or literature. Based on these results, universities need to instill the importance of having academic integrity and providing technical skills to increase the acceptance of the academic community towards the application of plagiarism checkers to improve the quality of the scientific work produced.
