Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) to investigate the effect of the use of electrolyzer capacitors on the motorcycle fuel consumption Supra-X 125 cc 2013. (2) to investigate the effect of variations in the amount of stainless steel plate in electrolyzer to motorcycle fuel consumption Supra-X 125 cc in 2013. (3) to investigate the interaction between use of capacitor and the variation in the amount of stainless steel plate in electrolyzer to motorcycle fuel consumption Supra-X 125 cc in 2013. This research used experimental method. The sample in this research used Honda Supra-X motorcycle 125 cc 2013 with engine number JB91E3233452. The research was conducted on Solo-Tawangmangustreet, Jaten, Karanganyar by test the road at a constant speed of 60 km/h along the track 8 km and the weight of rider was 100 kg (ISO 7552-2010). The data were collected by the measurement of the motorcycle fuel consumption with electrolyzer tube addition used a capacitor as filter and the variation in the amount of stainless steel electrode plate, with numbers: 8 plates, 10 plates and 12 plates. The data obtained from the measurement were analyzed using two-ways analysis of variance techniques. The results of this research show that (1) there was an effect of the use of electrolyzer capacitors on the motorcycle fuel consumption Supra-X 125 cc 2013. (2) There was an effect of variations in the amount of stainless steel plate in electrolyzer to motorcycle fuel consumption Supra-X 125 cc in 2013. (3) There was an effect of the interaction between use of capacitor and the variation in the amount of stainless steel plate in electrolyzer to motorcycle fuel consumption Supra-X 125 cc in 2013. The lowest fuel consumption occurred in the treatment of electrolyzer 12 plates with capacitor, it was 13.97 cc/km. The fuel consumption decreased 17.58% were compared with the standard condition.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are (1) to get an increasing in the students learning activity which used blended learning method with face-to-face learning approaches in the classroom and on the facebook social networks media in the transmission system competence in class X MO1 Pancasila Senior Vocational School Surakarta (2) to obtain an increasing of outcomes in student learning with using blended learning with face-to-face learning approaches in the classroom and on the facebook social media  in the transmission system competence in class X MO1 Pancasila Senior Vocational School Surakarta. This research was  implemented about 9 months from Januari until September 2014. This research was held at Pancasila Senior Vocational School Surakarta. The subject of this research all of student in the X grade class MO1 with the total members of this class are 34 students. The procedure of this research is TOD (Classroom Action Research) which used 3 cycles. While,  the techniques which used for data agregatted is the technique of test and non-test techniques. As for, the tool of data agregatted was about the written test and observation sheet of students learning activity which taken during the research. Base on data and result of research analysis showed  the implementation of learning use blended learning with face-to-face learning approaches in the classroom and on the facebook social media in the transmission system competence in class X MO1 TKR Pancasila Senior Vocational School Surakarta occurs an increasing in the activity of student learning. Base on the student activity observation sheet there is an increasing of each cycle. In the Pre-cycle which just use conventional methods obtain a percentage value of active students at 13%. In the first cycle when the BlendedLearning methodis  applied, the combining of learning activity in the class and social media facebook is increase, The student activity increase to 55%, then in the second cycle the activity increase until 82%. While in the results of study are also develop an increasing of the value of each cycle. Pre-cycle with conventional methods, the class averages score is69.93 and the thorough study is 32%. Then, using the Blended Learning, the combining of classroom learning and social media network Facebook has increased. In the first cycle the averages value of the class is 72.93 and thorough study is 56%.. Furthermore, in the second cycle the averages value of the class increase to 80.06 and the thorough study is also increase to 76%

Abstract

The aims of this research are to : (1) Find out the effect of using electrolyzer with variety of  electrolyte volume to engine power Supra X 125 in 2007. (2) Find out the effect of modified ignition timing to engine power Supra X 125 in 2007. (3) Find out the effect of comparing electrolyte volume on electrolyzer and modified ignition timing to engine power Supra X 125 in 2007. (4) Find out the biggest engine power Supra  X  125  in  2007  from  comparing  electrolyte  volume  on  electrolyzer  and modified ignition timing. This research was used experimental methods. The research was conducted at Mototech Motocourse Technology, Yogyakarta. The equipment that was used to measured engine power was Sportdyno V3.3. The population of this research was Supra X 125 in 2007 and the sample of this research was Supra X 125 in 2007 with JB51E1915937 engine number. This research was analyzed using descriptive data analysis. This research are using 3 variations ignition timing which are magnet with a standard ignition timing (150 BTDC), 20 and 40 advanced ignition timing. Variety of electrolyte volume, which are: 0 cc, 300 cc, and 500 cc volume electrolyte of electrolyzer. Based on the results of this study concluded that: (1) There was an increase engine power result consederation with on standard motorcycle. (2) There was an effect of modified ignition timing to engine power. Ignition timing 170 BTDC to result in engine power as big as 9.21 PS. Ignition timing 190 BTDC to result in engine power as big as 8.81 PS. (3) There was an interaction from comparing electrolyte volume on electrolyzer and modified ignition timing to engine power. Ignition timing 150  BTDC used electrolyzer with 300 cc and 500 cc electrolyte to result in engine power as big as 8.77 PS. Ignition timing 170 BTDC used electrolyzer with 300 cc electrolyte to result in engine power as big as 9.25 PS,  although used electrolyzer with 500 cc electrolyte to result in engine power as big as 9.32 PS. Ignition timing 190 BTDC used electrolyzer with 300 cc electrolyte to result in engine power as big as 8.81 PS although used electrolyzer with 500 cc electrolyte to result in engine power as big as 8.94 PS. (4) Maximum engine power as big as 9.32 PS from using electrolyzer with 500 cc electrolyte and ignition timing 170 BTDC.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know there any differences of Mechanical Engineering JPTK FKIP UNS student competence between graduates from Senior High School and Vocational High School in Electrical Outomotive Practice. This study was quantitative research. The method used in this research was descriptive. Population in this study were all of student in Automotive Concentration Mechanical Engineering Education program year on 2011,there are 23. Samples were taken with a total sample technique. The technique of collecting data questionnaires. The validity of questionnaires research instruments was using the product moment correlation approach of pearson. The validity instrument test with a significance level of  5% in order to get the valve of r product moment of 0,444. Reliability test was using the Alpha formula. The technique of data analysis in this research is using descriptive analysis. Based on this research concluded: There are differences Mechanical Engineering JPTK FKIP UNS student competence between graduates from High School and Vocational High School in Electrical Outomotive Practice.Vocational High School graduate student competency better than High School. This consists with result of the measuring instrument indicator, while  Vocational High School graduates at the high category with acquisition of a percentage of 50%, and High School 38.46%. Starter system indicator, Vocational High School graduates at the high category with acquisition of a percentage of 80%, while High School graduates in middle category percentage of 84.62%. Conventional ignition system indicator on vocational graduates are in high category while the acquisition of a percentage of 70%, but High School 53.84%. Engine analysis indicator, Vocational High School graduates at the high category while the acquisition of a percentage of 60%, but High School 46.15%.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) To develop and to design microcontroller-based system of water injection on Honda Mega Pro Motorcycle 2009. (2) To know the effect that uses microcontroller-based water injection of torque and power on Honda Mega Pro motorcycle 2009. (3) To know the quantity of torque and power on Honda Mega Pro motorcycle 2009 that uses microcontroller-based water injection.This research used descriptive quantitative methods. The sample of the research used is Honda Mega Pro 2009 in KC11E1237512 engine serial number. The data retrieved from the quantity of torque and power by using water microcontroller-based water injection with composition on (A100, A90, A80, A70, A60, and A50). The data are retrieved from the result of the research which are put into table and presented in the graphic form and then being analyzed.Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that: (1) Development and design of microcontroller-based water injection can work and operate properly on Honda Mega Pro motorcycle 2009. (2) There was a positive effect that uses microcontroller-based water injection of torque and power on Honda Mega Pro motorcycle 2009. (3) The best maximal torque is produced by using water injection (A50) on 14.29 Nm at 6250 rpm engine speeds or the torque escalates 1.11 Nm or 8.42% and the worst maximal torque is produced by using water injection (A100­) on 13.07 Nm at 6162 rpm engine speeds or the torque decreases 0.11 Nm or 0.83% compared to the maximal torque produced by motorcycle without water injection (standard) on 13.18 Nm at 6750 rpm engine speeds. (4) The best maximal power is produced by using water injection (A­50) on 13.70 HP at7724 rpm engine speed or the power escalates 0.93 HP or 7.28% and the worst maximal power is produced by using water injection (A100­) on 12.43 HP at 7049 rpm engine speeds or the power decreases 0.34 HP or 2.66% compared to the maximal power produced by motorcycle without water injection (standard) on 12.77 HP at 7156 rpm engine speeds.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the effect of the use of two sparking plugs on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009; (2) the effect of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009; and (3) the simultaneous effect (interaction) of variation of number of sparking plugs and that of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. This research used the experimental research method with the factorial design of 3 x 3. It was conducted at the Office of Transportation, Communication, and Informatics at Jl. Menteri Supeno No. 7 Manahan,Surakarta. The population of research was Motorcycle Yamaha Zupiter Z assembled in 2009 with the engine number of 30C653165 and the chassis number of F8034661I. The sample of research was taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data of research were gathered through the measurement of CO exhaust emission by using exhaust gas analyzer. They were taken in three times of replication, and therefore there were 18 data. The data were analyzed by using the two way analysis of variance and then the Scheffe and Chi-square tests. Prior to the tests, they were exposed to pre-requisite tests, namely: normality test and homogeneity test. The former used Lilliefor test and the latter used Bartlett test. The results of research are as follows: 1) There is an effect of the use of two sparking plugs on the CO exhaust emission level of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. The use of two sparking plugs reduces the CO exhaust emission level. 2) There is an effect of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. The higher is the engine rotation, the higher the CO exhaust emission level is. 3) There is a simultaneous effect (interaction) of variation of number of sparking plugs and that of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. Such a treatment also results in a lower CO exhaust emission level. 4) The lowest exhaust emission level as much as 5% is obtained in the use of two sparking plugs.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) to investigate the effect of repair welding on cast wheel Aluminium with MIG welding method by preheating treatment on hardness. (2) to investigate the effect of repair welding on cast wheel Aluminium with MIG welding method by preheating treatment on the level of toughness. (3) to investigate the effect of repair welding on cast wheel Aluminium with MIG welding method by preheating treatment on microstructure photo. (4) to compile the results of this research into the study of teaching material welding engineering courses in mechanical engineering education program majoring in technical and vocational education in faculty of teaching and science education, UNS Surakarta. The testing was conducted in LKP Inlastek Surakarta, Politeknik Manufaktur Ceper, Klaten and in the laboratory techniques S-1 UGM Yogyakarta. This research that the used MIG welding method with preheating treatment. The temperature as used in preheating is 121oC. The population in this research is all of wheels using aluminium alloy. The sample in this study is the cast wheel aluminium alloy. The research is an experimental researchand data analysis using descriptive analysis techniques to directly observe experimental results and then analyze and summarize the results of research. The test performed include: testing of material composition, toughness testing, hardness testing, and microstructure. Based on the results of this study concluded that (1) the composition of cast wheels are Al-7,22%Si. (2) the weld toughness test results (0,049 J/mm2) lower than before welding (0,077 J/mm2). This suggests that the welds more brittle than the raw material. (3) the hardness test results showthe raw material area are 466,26 BHN, the HAZ area are 550,31 BHN, and the welding area are 455,03 BHN. (4) the images show the distribution of the metal microstructure of Al and Si is more evenly distributed in the weld area and raw material but the weld metal grains smaller than raw material.

Abstract

The aims of this research are : (1) To investigate the effect of using electrolyzer with variety of  condensator capacity to engine power of  Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013. (2) To investigate the effect of using electrolyzer with variety number of stainless steel plate to engine power of  Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013. (3) To investigate the effect of interaction variety condensator capacity and using electrolyzer with variety number of stainless steel plate to engine power of Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013. This research was quantitative research with experimental method. This research was conducted at Mototech Motocourse Technology, Ringroad Selatan, Kemasan, Singosaren, Banguntapan, Bantul, Jogjakarta. The equipment that was used to measure engine power was Sportdyno V3.3. The population of this research was Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013 and the sample of this research was Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013 with JB91E3233452 engine number. This research was analyzed  two-way analysis of variance. This research was using variety of condensator capacity : 1,000 F, 2,200 F, 3,300F and variety of stainless steel plates number : 8 plates, 10 plates, 12 plates. Based on this research the conclusion were : (1) There was an effect of condensator capacity electrolyzer to engine power of Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013. It was showed in the result of analysis test that stated Fe = 5 more bigger than Ft = 3.55 (Fe > Ft) in 5% significancy.  (2) There was an effect of electrolyzer stainless steel plate number to engine power of Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013. It was showed in the result of analysis test that stated Fe = 5 more bigger than Ft = 3.55 (Fe > Ft) in 5% significancy. (3) There was an interaction of condensator capacity and number of  electrolyzer stainless steel plate to engine power of Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013. It was showed in the result of analysis test that stated Fe= 4 more bigger than Ft = 2.93 (Fe> Ft) in 5% significancy. (4) Maximum engine power of Honda Supra X 125 cc in 2013 as big as 9.1 HP from using 3,300 F condensator and 12 plates electrolyzer.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of service quality in BLK Magelang regency. The method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) in an effort to improve its services, especially in the automotive field. This research was conducted in BLK Magelang, Central Java Province. This study is a survey with a sample of 48 respondents research with a total sampling. Data collection techniques in this research through interviews, observation, questionnaire, literature, and documentation. Hypothesis testing using t-test mean difference in the two right hands with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study that: 1) Improving the quality of service in Magelang regency BLK the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) through 18 consumer voice (voice of customer). Of 18 votes, based on the results of the CRS normalization can be seen there are 5 highest percentage values of 12.6%; 11.4%; 11.3%; 9.3%; and 9.3%. This fifth respectively are: Structuring a regular room, teachers are competent, service is available during business hours, neatness and cleanliness of the teachers, and the training schedule implemented on time, 2) Some things to consider institutions as technical requirements to improve service trainee security is guaranteed, the customer service is reached, teachers look neat, professional employees, the target is reached on time, 3) Based on QFD that the targets to be met to improve the quality of service is the professionalism of employees (1,305), Ease of consumers to obtain information (1,269), neatness of employees (1,21), professionalism of teachers (1,208), and the customer service is reached (1.18).

Abstract

The purpose of this study were: (1) Investigate the effect of fuel heating gas through a capillary tube finned square transverse profile in the upper tank of the radiator exhaust emissions of CO and HC. (2) Investigate the effect of rotation of the engine to the exhaust emissions of CO and HC. (3) Investigate the both effect between of fuel heating gas through a capillary tube finned square transverse profile in the upper radiator tank and rotation the engine to the exhaust emissions of CO and HC. (4) Knowing the variation of finned pipe and engine speed was product the lowest of CO and HC exhaust emissions. The method used in this study was the experimental method. The experiment was conducted at Automotive Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering Study Program JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta. The tools used to measure the levels of exhaust emissions of CO and HC were Gas Analyser merk Stargas type 898. Population in this study was a Toyota Corona and sample in this study was a Toyota Corona with engine number 12R1215172, with variation distance between the finned 10 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm. Discussion the methods of data used in this research was descriptive method of comparative investigation. Data obtained from the test results documentation exhaust emission levels of CO and HC with the application of fuel heating used variations of the distance between the fins 10 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm at different round of 1.000 rpm, 2.000 rpm and 3.000 rpm. Based on the results of this study concluded: (1) There was a warming effect of gasoline with variation distance between the capillary tube finned transverse and rotary the engine to the exhaust emissions of CO and HC. (2) The content of the exhaust emissions of CO and HC tends decreased as the temperature rised in the fuel and engine rotation. Test data showed that the average level the lowest CO exhaust emissions occured at 1.000 rpm with variation of the distance between the fins of 20 mm was equal to 0.180% volume and the lowest HC at 3.000 rpm using a variation of the distance between the fins of 20 mm and 10 mm that is equal to 120 ppm volume.
