Abstract

A research on the application of dielectric barrier discharge reactor configured as a cylindrical spiral using ozone-producing which using the air as  source  and in atmospheric conditions. In this study, the observed effect of ozonation to show the influence to  dissolved oxygen, pH and Calcium carbonate. Active Electrode using copper wire spiral and has pyrex to be the dielectric. Plasma produce using AC voltages of 2 kV, 10 kV, 12.5 kV and frequencies between 880 Hz to 891 Hz. Air flow rate of 1.5 L / min. At the same time ozonation, using different voltage produce different ozone concentrations. If more voltage applied, the concentration of ozone is increasing. Similarly, the measurement of dissolved oxygen concentration and Calcium carbonate. But of water pH measurements obtained tends to be stable. Keywords: Calcium carbonate, DBD reactor, dissolved oxygen, ozone, pH.

Abstract

Research in the field of green technology using photocatalyst materials can be a solution to environmental pollution, especially contamination of aquatic bacteria. These materials absorb energy from the sun and form hydroxyl radicals that kill bacteria. Zinc oxide has a high photocatalytic efficiency with Eg 3.3 eV in the range of UV - visible light. ZnO can be modified by addition of silver in order to improve the effectiveness as well as anti-bacterial properties. ZnO:Ag 4% layers prepared with thermal spray coating method with deposition temperature at 250ºC and aneling temperature at 450 ºC. XRD measurements performed with CuKα radiation with wavelength at 1.54060 Å and the diffraction angle in range 20 ° - 70 °. The diffraction patterns were identified using the Crystallography Open Database (COD) and software QUALX. ZnO (Id 101-1259) phase and metal Ag (Id 151-2487) phase has formed, but there are also silver oxide phase AgO (Id 150-9488) and Ag2O (Id 150-9684). Crystallite size has been calculated using Debye-Scherrer equation resulted an average value 43.46 nm. The optical properties were measured using a UV-Vis spectrometer in the wavelength range 250-800 nm. Transmittance spectrum were converted into an absorbance spectrum using the Beer-Lambert law. Eg value were analyzed with methods tauc's plot. Linear extrapolation (αhν)2 against hν provide direct transition Eg value 3.1 eV. Photodegradation ability of ZnO:Ag layer performed on E.coli bacteria. TPC measurement results were analyzed using the degradation rate graph, Ct (bacteria concentration) against time exposure. The degradation rate values obtained 1.554 x 10-17 (cfu/ml)-2(minutes)-1.Keywords : ZnO:Ag, band gap energy, XRD, Uv-Vis, TPC, degradation rate.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the image on each imaging plate which has a different pixel sizes. This research is using a plane X-ray, Computed Radiography (CR) which is used in the diagnostic field. This study uses three imaging plate each having size of 0.097 mm, 0.115 mm and 0.168 mm with stepwedge objects on it and use the same factor, namely kV eksposi: 64.5 and mAs: 16. In each of the imaging plate in eksposi 3 times and the results of each radiograph imaging plate will be measured by using a densitometer. Stepwedge radiograph of the measurement results will be obtained the density and contrast value of each imaging plate. Contrast value for each imaging plate will be compared so they will know what the size of the imaging plate which has a higher contrast value. Research on the effects of different pixel size on the imaging plate is done in Radiology Hospital Tugu Semarang, in July 2014. From the results it can be concluded each different pixel sizes on the imaging plate will generate a different image quality. Keywords: pixel, imaging plate,Quality Preview, contras , density

Abstract

Sucrose concentration was analyzed using portable brix meter to show the acidity and alkalinity. Materials the brix were sucrose, honey, milk, and vinegar. Sucrose solution was diluted with aquades at concentration of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, while concentration solution of milk, honey, and vinegar at 5%, 10%, 15% ,20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%. Solution at each concentration was measured by Portable Brix Meters to determine the concentration of sucrose with work on the principle of light refraction. The acidity or alkalinity of each solution was measured by a pH meter, so we get the graph calculation and the relationship between the concentration of sucrose solution pH to change the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Increased concentration on pure sugar or sucrose, causing increased levels of alkalinity, while the honey, milk, and vinegar, with increased concentrations cause acidity. Data were analyzed with logarithmic graph approach. The correlation between the concentration of sucrose solution C with a pH in pure sucrose solution  with R2=0.913. The correlation between the concentration of sucrose solution C with a pH in solution of honey, milk, and vinegar.  with R2 = 0.792, dengan R2= 0.956,  with R2= 0.407,  with R2 = 0.974,  with R2= 0.983. The difference of pH value and concentrations are very small. Keywords: sucrose solution, concentration, pH meter, portable Brix meter

Abstract

Analysis of the radiation beam profile linear accelerator 6mV on the use of virtual wedge with gafchromic film done as a virtual wedge calibration on the linear accelerator . Virtual wedge calibration was originally done using ionization chamber detector, but its use is not efficient because for one-time calibration with an area of 10 x 10 cm2 field takes 10 times the exposure with the results of 10 data transform one dose profile curve . It takes a dosimeter that can capture the entire virtual dose results wedge with one exposure is gafchromic films with an area that can be customized . This research was conducted with a virtual wedge on the Siemens PRIMUS linear accelerator , scanner Epson Stylus 10000 XL , Solid Water Phantom , Matlab Program and Excel Program. This research begin to find the corelation between radiation beam and pixel value on gafchromic film with field size 1x 1 cm2. This corelation in used to find profile dose of virtual wedge from gafchromic film with field size 1 x 11 cm2. Variation fof gafchromic film is in this angle on 150, 300, and 450, opening jaws in Y1and Y2and teh last variation of half beam position in (-10 until 0),(-5 until 5) and (0 until 10). This research find that in higher beam dose, make the darkness film but lowerpixel value.ther are 2 corection in jaws position Y2 half beam (-10 until 0)300 and jaws position Y2 half beam (0 until1 0) 450. No one of ymetrisity value higher than 3% appropriate with AAPM TG-47.Keyword: virtual wedge, profil dosis, gafchromicf film, half beam
