Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to: improve the independence of students in learning mathematics through Cooperative Learning methods and make a match strategy using authentic assessment. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) collaborative. The subjects are students in grade VIII SMPN I Gumukmas  School Year 2011/2012, amounting to 33 students as subjects who received the action. Implementation of the action is the subject of research. Subjects who supported the implementation of the math are teachers and principals. Data collection methods are used the method of observation, test methods, reviews and documentation methods. Data analysis technique is implemented in a descriptive qualitative. It is found on the average the students activity improve 66,7% at siklus I become 78,8% at siklus II, and the teacher activity improve 4,66%. The classical thoroughness improve 33,34%. So the conclusion of this research is the application of the make a match approach can improve theostudent achievmentoinklearningomathematics. Abstract

Abstract. Secondary data from the Center for Educational Assessment Departement of Education Shows the percentage of mastery of the material at the school level in High School/Madrasah Aliyah in Situbondo calculate the volume of material objects play in the area between the two curves when playing surround the  axis show the percentage of mastery of less then 60%. Based on the analysis of the data obtained it can be concluded that the lack of masteri is caused by several factor that is the method of teaching, teacher relations with studens, learning media, the state of the building, the method of learning student and teachers circumtances Key Words: identification, factors, low material

Abstract

Abstract. Decagonal Penrose Mosaic is a decagonal interior design constructed by applying the basic of golden triangle Penrose tile. There are several techniques to design the mosaic, some of them are as follows: (1) constructing Penrose tile on the fifth iterations constructed from isosceles triangles which on each triangle is defined by decagon sector; (2) stating  Penrose symmetry base as the mosaic design base;  (3) dividing each Penrose tile golden triangle into 3 zone; (4) stating Penrose symmetry base to fill in Penrose tile golden triangle in each zone; (5) coloring the interior  Penrose symmetry base and the backgrounds. The formed design has been found several Penrose mosaic models in full symmetry, not fully symmetry, similar and overlap, which each models has natural motive and symmetry characteristics. By using the different coloring techniques it has been formed some coloring pattern on the centre, homogenous distribution, or spreading. This would enrich the varieties of mosaic design forms. Abstract

Abstract. Mosaic is a creation that arrangs a piece of geometric in a space. This mosaic design which has geometric line character enrichs the-varieties of mosaic designs more attractive and various. The result of research is to develop the mosaic design in rectangle interior for geometric line the character and it needs some steps follows: (1) constructing pieces of rectangle in which the size is arranged in geometric line form through spot among each side, (2) fill each piece with the previous result step (1) fill curve permanently or exchang by using the rotation or dilatation, (3) combains some rectangles with the previous result (2) and colors the background or the filling curve.   Key Words: geometric line, mosaic design.

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of the implementation of teaching and learning activities at the Extraordinary School is to achieve the learning objectives. One of the procedures to improve the quality of education is implementing School Based Curriculum (SBC) fully. A data collecting method used in this research are interview, observation, documentation and questioner. The data obtained from interview, observation, documentation and questioner will be analyzed by qualitative descriptive techniques. Based on the result, the propernes of SBC implementation for mathematics learning in SMPLB-A and SMPLB-B shows 67,22% with “Good” category and 82% with “Very Good” category, respectively. In general, the implementation of SBC for mathematics learning at SMPLB has been applied properly but there are some modification done by teachers. Key Words: SBC, Implementation

Abstract

Abstract. Cooperative learning type Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) is combination methods between cooperative learning and individual learning. In this research, we will implement STAD to reduce can minimalize student’s error in the topic of social arithmetic. The subject of the research is grade VII B students of SMP Negeri Satu Atap Tanggul. The data collection methods used in this research are test, interview, observation and documentation. The result shows that the errors are decreasing; theorem error decrease from 37,85% to 20,71%; data error decrease from 52,14% to 32,14%; technique error decrease from 42,85% to 24,28% and other error decrease from 39,28% to 18,57%. The result also shows that the teaching learning activity using STAD gives a good responses from the teacher and students. Key Words : STAD, student’s error, social arithmetics

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the profile of generalization thinking, simplifying problems, and analytic thinking of mathematical olympiad students in solving algebraic problems. The research subjects were 4 mathematical olympiad students at SMPN 2 Jember. Tests and interviews are used to collect data. Based on the analysis of the data, the results of the study show that the mathematical olympiad students can solve the given problems using non-procedural methods. They prefer to use a more effective and efficient way. In process of simplifying problems, the students can represent problems into mathematical models using algebraic forms. In making mathematical models, the students use variables as a form of example. In this study, there are still students who use symbols as variables that showing those students are still at the stage of iconic thinking according to J.Bruner's learning theory. In the analytical thinking process students are able to solve problems using the methods they obtain from the results of their analysis of the given problems. In the generalization thinking process students can find and apply existing rules or patterns to solve the given problem, even though there are still students who have not received the material. They are able to solve problems using reasonal and logical thinking. Keywords: Mathematical Olympiad, Generalization, Simplifying Problems, Analityc Thinking.

Abstract

Abstract. Reciprocal teaching is a learning approach that implements four independent comprehension strategies namely summaries, preparing questions, clarify and then predict. It can also improve the students achievement in the classroom so it can minimalize student’s error in the topic of statistics. The subject of the research is grade IXF students of SMPN 1 Pakusari. The data collection methods used in this research are test, interview, observation, and documentation.. The result showed that there are decreasing in every error; 9,38% and 3,57% for data used error; 16,96% and 0,89% for used theorem and definition error; 10,71% and 17,41% for technique error and 3,57% and 1,76% for other error. The result also showed that the teaching learning activity using reciprocal teaching got a good responses from the teacher and students, only a few of them had a poor responses. Those good responses were proved by the improvement of studends activity that use all of the body. Beside, there is also an effect on students thought between before and after teaching and learning process. Those all showed that reciprocal teaching can shift the students minimalize the students error in learning esspesially in the topic of statistics Key Words: Reciprocal Teaching, student’s error, statistics

Abstract

Abstract. Numbered Heads Together is a cooperative learning strategy that holds each student accountable for learning the material. The advantage of NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is that it has numbering system. Type of research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subjects of was grade VII A students of SMP Negeri 1 Kedungjajang and material the chosen was one variabel linear inequality. The data collection methods used in this research were observation, interview, test, and documentation. In the first cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 73,33% . And the second cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 86,67%. The first cycle to the second cycle was 13,34%.   Key Words : NHT, Cooperative Learning. Abstract

Abstract. Guided discovery method by contextual teaching is a learning way where students can find a concept with teacher guidence who motivates them to combine the knowledge taken from daily life. Beside that, it can also improve students’ activity and achievement in the teaching learning activity. The subject of the research is students of VII F grade of SMPN 1 Rambipuji. The data collection methods used in this research are documentation, observation, interview and test. The result of research showed that the increasing of students’ activity and achievement. The average percentage on the first cycle was 60,87 % and the second cycle was 72,54%. Whereas, the students’ average score of the last meeting in the first cycle was 74,49 and the second cycle was 81,24. The result also showed a good responses from the teacher and students. The good responses were proved by the increasing of students’ activity and achievement. Beside, there was also an effect on students thought between before and after teaching and learning process.Overall the guided discovery method by contextual teaching can improve students’ activity and achievement.
