This article deals with the concept of education evaluation from the Qurâ€™anic perspective. Evaluation is a popular term much used in education to know a studentâ€™s performance in education. In this context, in the Qurâ€™an, we also findÂ some terms that have similarÂ meaning with evaluation. For example, al-inbaâ€™, al-hisab, al-bala, al-nadzar, al-wazn, al-fitnah al-taqdir . These terms are used by the Qurâ€™an to evaluate Godâ€™s servants, eitherÂ those who believe or disbelieve in God. To know further, how and in which context the Qurâ€™an uses those terms, the usages of the terms are elaborated in this article.Kata Kunci: evaluasi pendidikan, Alquran, al-fitnah, al-hisab, al-wazn, al-taqdir

In Â psychological point of view whatever occurs in an adult is influenced by his or her life condition in his or her adulthood, particularly in the first years of his or her age. Offspring and milieu give a major influence to the formation ofÂ attitude and of behavior of a child. Rearing model constitutes a concept for educating a child in order that he or she obtains his or her meaningful life. For this target and meaningful life, an individual is demanded to grasp however the life is he or she must assume it a positive reality. This essay deals with the urgency of Islamic education in developing emotional quotient. Islamic education is concernedÂ about not only physical development but also inner capacity of human beings. Today, many people become highly educated in the sense that they possess a high intelligence quotient but a low spiritual quotient. As a result, they tend to commit immoral deeds. It is regulated in Islam, therefore, that a soul has both negative effect and positive effect. However, the negative effect of emotion can be managed so that it can be effective.Â Therefore, people should posses not only intelligence quotient but also emotional quotient. Religious education plays a remarkable role forÂ developing humansâ€™ morality. Therefore, in the National Development Â of Indonesia, religious education posses a chief position. This important position is implemented in schools throughout Indonesia, from elementary level to university level , both schools based on religious teaching and those based on secular one. For instance, at the elementary religious school, religious education has become one ofÂ nationally-tested subject. However,Â Islamic education at this level of education is considered to be abortive since pupils of this schoolÂ are still unable to practice their religious teaching in their daily life. Based on this, efforts to enhance the quality of religious education at thisÂ basic level of education must be made. This article deals with Ø§Ù„ØªÙÙƒØ± in the Qurâ€™an employing the thematic method of qurâ€™anic exegesis. Observing the verses used the Qurâ€™an, the writer found some words in the Qurâ€™an denoting both negative and positive thinking. To denote the negative thinking, the word ØªØªÙÙƒØ±ÙˆÙ† is used; to denote the things related to the prohibition of drinking liquor and of gambling; the word ØªØ¹Ù‚Ù„ÙˆÙ† is used; to denote the order to do good things; the word Ù†Ø¸Ø± is used; to denote al-Walid al-Mughirahâ€™s negation to the Qurâ€™an; to denote the unbelieversâ€™ accuses of the prophet Muhammad, the word Ø§ØÙ„Ø§Ù… is used. In the mean time, to denote the positive thinking, the Qurâ€™an adopts the word ÙŠØªÙÙƒØ±ÙˆÙ†Â that is something related to the creature of the universe and of the natural phenomena; the word ÙŠÙ†Ø¸Ø± is used to denote the origin of human beings; the word Ø§ÙˆÙ„Ùˆ Ø§Ù„Ø§Ù„Ø¨Ø§Ø¨ is used to denote agreement and negation to truth of the Qurâ€™an.Â Kata Kunci: tafsir, berpikir, Alquran

The urgency of business cannot be neglected. Business always performs a vital role in a social life and of economy of mankind. Nonetheless, in Islamic perspective, a business is not for a mere business. In other words, a business must be managed under the system of rahmatun lil â€˜alamin (blessing for all mankind). This article deals with one of the important pillars in modern business, that is interest system, especiallyÂ Â bank interest system, which will be analyzed based on the Islamic law. After analyzing the subject using the Qurâ€™an and the prophetâ€™s traditions as well as Islamic legal maxims, the writer finds a variety of arguments put forward by the Islamic law experts in drawing a conclusion on the permission and Â the banning of bank interest. Apart from this controversy, in the writerâ€™s point of view, fund and the empowerment of umat economy must be institutionally supported.Kata Kunci:Â Â sistem bunga bank, riba, business modern, hukum Islam

During the prophetâ€™s life, all legal problemsÂ would be returned to him. Then, he wouldÂ make a decisionÂ on those problems. It is different from Â our contemporary era since the prophet has passed awayÂ while there areÂ some problems brought about by the development of science and of technology. For example, Â transplantation and insemination, both of which should be discussed by Muslim scholars to determineÂ Â whether or not both are permitted by Islam. This article deals with methodology of hadith criticism focusing its study on takhrij al-hadis and sanad criticism. Hadith has been agreed as one of Moslem’s sources of teachings after the Qur’an. Its position is very central since hadith is a direct interpretation and is a continuity of what is found in Qur’an. Nevertheless, hadith differs from the Qur’an since the status of the latter is always mutawatir. In addition, the position of hadith always differs from one another since the system of transmission is not always congregation (mutawatir). This difference causes a hadith to have different status from another. Therefore, a methodology of hadith criticism plays an important role to decide the validity of a hadith.
