Abstract

This research aims to know (1) characteristics of farmers oil palm; (2)  analysis of labour absorption; and (3) analysis of oil palm production; and (4) analysis of farmers income. The research was conducted in August 2015 until November 2015. Location of research in sub-districts of Bandar Seikijang, Langgam, Pangkalan Kuras, and Ukui in Pelalawan District. The method used interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Sampling was done by purposive. The results showed (1) Characteristics of age of farmers are productive. While the characteristics of farmer education including secondary level (high school); (2) The most of labor absorption in sub-district Ukui (4,04 HOK / ha), followed by Bandar Seikijang (3,85 HOK / Ha), Pangkalan Kuras (3,80 HOK / ha), and Langgam (3,56 HOK /Ha); and (3) The highest productivity of oil palm in District Ukui (20,80 ton/ha), followed by Pangkalan Kuras (19,02 ton/ha), Bandar Seikijang (17,21 ton/ha), and Langgam (15,44 ton/ha). (4) The biggest income of farmers in District Ukui (Rp 23.750.347, - /ha), followed by Pangkalan Kuras (Rp 22.193.508, - /ha), Bandar Seikijang (19.100.916,- / ha), and Langgam (Rp 14.099.540, - / ha).

Abstract

The Loss of crop productivity can reach 30-35% if not use pesticide. The other hand, to use of pesticides can be caused environmental problems and human healthy. This research aims to develop biopesticides for pests and plant diseases. It was conducted at the PEM laboratory UIN Suska Riau and on land, from July to November 2015. The sourches were extracts from Andropogon nardus, Annona muricata leaves, Ageratum conyzoides, Piper aduncun fructus, Nicotiana tabacum leaves, Tinospora crispa, Azadirachta indica leaves, Allium sativum and Piper betle leaves. Each the source was macerated in alcohol 50% for 24 hours and then distilled at a temperature of 60 °C until all the alcohol evaporates. The experimental Design was complete random design with 7 treatments (control, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100% and chemical pesticides as positif control) and 3 replicates. Parameters of the test biopesticides to disease performed in vitro with measure the resistance zones and for mealybugs and Gryllus assimilis in vivo with the pest mortality. Biopesticide test in vitro for the bacteria that causes carrot root rot has not been able to kill microbes. The mortality rate mealybugs begins before 1 hour observation at the treatment biopesticide concentration of 80%, 100% and control positif.  Provision of different concentrations of biopesticides, does not the increased mortality of Gryllus assimilis. This shows that the power to kill biopesticide still well below chemical pesticides, but the pest is still alive no appetite as antifeedant effect of the biopesticide. So biopesticide application does not have to kill the target pest. Need  follow-up and development of this research and other pests.

Abstract

Peanut  is  one important plant in Indonesia as source of protein. Productivity of peanut in Indonesia  is still low than USA, China and Argentina. We need to improve  our cultivation technic  and then increase it’s  productions. The aimed of this research was to find the best combination between NT45 organik fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer dosage for increasing growth and yield of  peanut. This research was done from August until December 2015. The research used 3 x 3factorialinCompletely Randomized Design with three replications. The first factor was NT45 organic fertilizer dosage consisted of three levels : 80, 160 and 240 g/plant. The second factor was SP36  fertilizer dosage consisted of three levels : 0, 50 and 100  kg/ha. The result showed that NT45 organic and phosphate fertilizers interacted each other affecting the growth and yield of peanut. Application of 160 g/plant NT45 organik fertilizer and  0 kg/ha SP36 fertilizer showed the best growth and yield of peanut. This indicates  that NT45 organic fertilizer could be used alone without addition of phospate fertilizer and it is increasing economical efficiency.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of formulated PEFB trichokompos and P fertilizers  on growth, physiology, production and P uptake of onion in peatlands. This research used experimental factorial randomized completely block design and three replications. Trichokompos PEFB formulated as the first factor is composed of four levels (0, 5, 10 and 15 ton ha-1) and P fertilizers as the second factor consists of four levels (0, 120, 180 and 240 kg ha-1 P₂O5). Parameters measured were chlorophyll content, photosynthesis rate, stomataH2Oconductivity , the concentration of CO2 in the cell, transpiration rate, plant height, number of tillers, number of tubers per hill, the diameter of the bulbs, fresh weight of tuber per hill, plant dry weight and P uptake. The results showed trichokompos PEFB formulated 15 ton ha-1 can increase the response of onion production as tuber diameter and fresh weight per hill and P uptake response respectively by 25.58%, 74.92% and 76.39%. While the physiological responses seen to decrease thestomatal H2O conductivity and transpiration rate of respectively 21.43% and 28.79% compared with no PEFB formulatedtrichokompos. Provision of fertilizer P 120 P2O5 ha-1 can improve physiological responses such as H2O on stomatal conductivity, increased growth responses such as plant height, such as the production response tuber diameter and fresh weight per hill and P uptake response respectively by 7.69%, 22.25%, 26.23%, 56.21% and 44.26% compared with no fertilizer P. combination trichokompos PEFB formulated 15 ton ha-1 with manure P 120 P2O5 ha-1 is the best treatment combination, with the highest production response namely 7.65 g (1.91 ton ha-1) fresh weight per hill and increased 214.81% compared with no treatment trichokompos PEFB formulated and fertilizer P.

Abstract

The research purpose to investigate effect of mychorriza and phosphor dosage on growth and yield of soybean. The research was conducted in field experimental of Agriculture and Animal Science Faculty of State Islamic Univesity of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau started from April to July, 2015. The planting media was peat soil with a pH of 4,79 and seeds used black soybean Mallika Varieties .The research was used Randomized Block Design with two factorials and four replications, the first factor was the dosage phosphor e.g. 0, 75, 150 kg/ha whereas the second factor was mychorriza consisted of 0, 20, 40, 60 g/polybag. The following parameter were observed e.g plant heigh, persentase mycorrhiza infection, number and weight of root nodules, number of pods/plant, number of seed/plant, weight dry seed/plant, weight dry plant, weight dry root, time of flowering and age of harvest time. The result showed that mychorriza application did not increased phsophor efficiency on soybean yield. Without mychorriza and phosphor 150 kg/ha increased shott-root ration at 80 days after planting.

Abstract

Peat soil generally have pH leves, has a hight cation exchange capaticy, low base saturation, low K, Ca, Mg and P contain and it’s also has low micro element content. This study aims to determine the effect of composed Azolla pinata with different doses for Macro Fertility of Peat Soil and It’s Aplication in Plant Growth Kale. This research has been conducted in March to May 2015 in Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture and Livetock and Agrostology, Feed Industry and Siol Science Laboratory, State Islamic University Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This Research used non factorial Completly Randomized Design (CRD) of 6 levels: Without Azolla compost, 3 tons/ha (30 g), 6 tons/ha (60 g), 9 tons/ha (90 g), 12 tons/ha (120 g), 15 tons/ha (150 g). Each treatment was done 6 replications. The results showed that Azolla compost increasing macro fertility properties P on peat soil but not for pH, N and K. Based on analysis of variance 9 tons/ha dose is the best to increasing plant height, leaf number and fresh weight of plant.
