Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah limbah yang dihasilkan oleh industri sangat erat kaitannya dengan penambahan jumlah industri itu sendiri, terutama limbah Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3). Bagaimanapun, masalah pengolahan limbah B3 merupakan masalah yang sangat krusial. Sampai saat ini masih terjadi keterbatasan fasilitas pengolahan limbah B3 sehingga sebagai alternatifnya adalah perlunya peningkatan-peningkatan cara pengolahan limbah tersebut melalui penelitian dan pengembangan. Dalam penelitian ini Pemadatan/Penstabilan (S/S) digunakan sebagai salah satu cara untuk pengolahan lumpur yang berasal dari industri automobile (PT. Hicom Teck See). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan bahwa (S/S) merupakan salah satu cara pilihan untuk pengolahan limbah, membandingkan dan menilai tingkat efektifitas penggunaan semen (GGBS) dan sekam padi, mengukur dan membandingkan nilai kadar resapan air lindi dengan menggunakan metode JLT-13. Sebelum pengolahan, hasil konsentrasi logam berat yang tertinggi pada sampel ini adalah Na (44.2 mg/l) diikuti oleh Fe, Mg, As, Zn, Al, Mn, Cu, Pb dan Ni dan konsentrasi Fe dalam hal ini berada di atas ambang batas Environmental Quality Act (EQA). Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa S/S merupakan salah satu alternatif metode yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengolah B3. Sekam padi juga efektif untuk menekan laju konsentrasi logam berat sebanyak 50%. Hasil Uji kekuatan (Compressive Strength) dari limbah ini menunjukkan nilai 414 kPa.

Abstract

Adaptation of upland rice promising lines and varieties at ecosystem in lowland Deli Serdang regency. The trials were conducted at Pasar Miring Experimental Farm during dry season of 2009. Activities conducted during that season two was introduced six promosing line and two varieties (Situ Bagendit and Towuti namely) of expectations as a comparison yielding varieties are planted on dry land. The experimental design using randomized block design with three replications. Plot size was 4 x 5 m and plant spacing 20 x 25 cm. Assessment results indicated that the obtained 4 (four) upland rice strains capable of providing results in over 4 t/ha dry grain milling (GKG). Results obtained by comparison of varieties of Towuti and Situ Bagendit respectively 4.58 and 4.87 t/ha GKG, therefore in this study found that 3 strains have the potential of approaching potential outcomes is owned by a variety of the strains comparison SEB. 8FA-281-2, SEB.BSL-4-2, and strain CIRAD 141. While the potential outcome under 4 t/ha are owned by strain of SEB. 8FA-67-5, strains SEB.8FA-300-2, and strain SEB. 8FA-37-2. Strains that have a short harvesting age (under 100 days) obtained in strain SEB. 8FA-281-2 and strains of SEB. 8FA-300-2 while the age crop varieties that are owned by comparison Towuti and Situ Bagendit are 106 and 109 days.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to study the effect of shoot multiplication media and subculture on root formed and survive of plantlet during acclimatization. Plant material was used that explants of pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) cv Smooth Cayenne which resulting from multiplication with several concentrations of BA and NAA which are subculture two times. The results of this research showed that all treatments of multiplication medium do not difference significance on explants capability to root formed and survive during acclimatization, but re-subculture effect on plantlet survival during acclimatization which all treatments at first subculture showed result better than second subcultures. Abstract

The purposes of this research were to get the best pH, and also to identify the ability of mixed culture of hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria in bioremediation of dirtied soil by oil refinery waste. The bacteria were used are Acinetobacter baumanni, Alcaligenes eutrophus, Bacillus sp1., Methylococcus capsulatus, Bacillus sp2., Morococcus sp., Pseudomonas diminuta, Xanthomonas albilineans, Bacillus cereus and Flavobacterium branchiophiia. Variation of pH were 6,5, 7,0, 7,5. Observed parameters in optimization were Total Plate Count (TPC) the culture every week, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) examined at the end of the bioremediation period. Best optimization result then analyzed with GC/MS. The best pH was 7,5 with TPH degradation 73,241% and COD slope 86,283%. The chromatogram indicated that hydrocarbon compound from nC9 – nC32 have been degraded by 31,824% – 94,934%. The conclusions of this research were a good result of bioremediation was obtained from mixed culture inoculum at pH 7,5.

Abstract

Water is an important factor for plant growth. Water-deficit in soil will affect plant growth and reduce productivity. The objective of this research was to defend seed viability, plant growth, yield, and seed quality on soybean in drought condition using GA3. The research was conducted at, Green House of Agriculture Faculty and Experimental Field of KP4 Gadjah Mada University in Kalitirto, Yogyakarta from September 2006 to January 2007. The research was arranged split-plot design 5x3 factorials with 3 replications. The Major plot was soil moisture content, which arranged in randomized complete block design, consisted of 5 soil moisture content levels; 100, 80, 60, 40, and 20% field capacity. The Sub-plot was the concentration of GA3 with 3 levels: 0, 100, and 200 ppm. The result showed that seedling growth was delayed by the decreasing of soil moisture content. It was revealed that 20% of the soil moisture content and immersion treatment in GA3 at 100 ppm significantly increased the seed vigor. Furthermore, immersion in GA3 at 100 and 200 ppm tends to increase the plant height and its hypothetical index vigor. The treatment also raises the dry-weight of seedling up to 60%. There was a positive correlation between GA3 concentration and leaf area.

Abstract

This research aim to study the effect of Melaleuca bracteata and Psidium guajava as attractant to controlling fruit fly (Bactrocera spp.) throught different application times at paper plantation in Sigi Sulawesi Tengah. It was done since March until July 2010 in Maku village, District of Dolo, Sigi regency, Sulawesi Selatan Province of Indonesia. Randomized Block Design with 2 (two) factor and treatment was used by concetration of M. bracteata oil on three levels and application time on three levels. Concentration of M. Bracteata oil on extract of P. guajava as first factor, there were M1 = 0,40 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract, M2 = 0,50 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract, dan M3 = 0,60 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract. The application time as second factor, there ara were W1 = 7 days, W2 = 10 days, and W3 = 13 days. The results showed that population of fruit fly at paper plantation reduced by application of M. bracteata oil. Application of 0,60 ml of M. bracteata oil / 100 ml of P. guajava extract every 10 days indicated the best attractant of the fruit fly. Others results of this research was discussed.
