Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah dan keefektifan pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran langsung pada pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi datar ditinjau dari ketercapaian standar kompetensi, motivasi, dan minat belajar di SMP.Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 4 Kertosono, kabupaten Nganjuk dan diambil secara acak dua kelas sebagai sampel yaitu kelas VIII-E dan VIII-H. Untuk menguji keefektifan pembelajaran, dianalisis menggunakan uji one sample t-test. Untuk menguji bahwa pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah lebih efektif dari pada pembelajaran langsung, dianalisis menggunakan MANOVA yang dilanjutkan dengan uji t-Benferroni dan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan dianalisis menggunakan uji score gain ternormalisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah efektif dan pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah lebih efektif daripada pembelajaran langsung, serta rata-rata skor gain ternormalisasi pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran langsung ditinjau dari penguasaan standar kompetensi, motivasi, dan minat belajar siswa SMP.Kata Kunci: keefektifan, pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah, ketercapaian standar kompetensi, motivasi belajar, minat belajar, bangun ruang sisi datarThe Effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning on Plane Solid Figure in Terms of Mastery of Competency Standard, Learning Motivation and Learning Interest of Junior High School Students AbstractThis study aims to describe the effectiveness of the problem-based learning approach and problem-based learning approach compared with direct instruction approach in a plane solid figure in terms of achievement of competency standard, learning motivation and learning interest of junior high school students. This study was a quasi-experimental study employing the pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The research population comprised years VIII students in SMP Negeri 4 Kertosono, Nganjuk Regency and two classes, class VIII-E and VIII-H were randomly selected as the research sample. To test the effectiveness of the problem-based learning approach, the one sample t-test were used. Then, to test the more effectiveness of the problem-based learning approach than the direct instruction approach, the MANOVA was carried out and then continued by the t-Bonferroni test, and to describe increase the data were analyzed using the normalized gain score. The result of the study show that the problem-based learning approach effective and the problem-based learning approach is more effective than the direct instruction approach, and the means normalized score gain the problem-based learning approach is more than direct instruction approach in term of achievement of competency standard, learning motivation, and learning interest of elementary Scholl students. Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe mathematical literacy of Senior High School students in Yogyakarta. This research was a survey using quantitative design. The population was all of Senior High School students in Yogyakarta. The sampling was a combination of stratified random sampling and cluster random sampling. The sample was 813 students the 10th grade of Senior High School. These schools include high, average and low category based on the score in the national examination of mathematics subject. The data collection was by a test. The student was tested with 13 items of mathematical literacy problems. The analysis of those data used descriptive statistics including mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum score, total score, and also test statistics z (). The research finding reveals that mathematical literacy of Senior High School students in Yogyakarta is in a very low category. Mathematical literacy of Senior High School students for understanding indicator belong to low category and for the other indicators of process belongs to very a low category.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah yang berorientasi pada kemampuan komunikasi dan prestasi belajar matematika yang mempunyai kualitas baik yang terdiri atas rencana pelakanaan pembelajaran (RPP), lembar kerja siswa (LKS), tes kemampuan komunikasi, dan tes prestasi belajar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Prosedur yang diadaptasi tersebut meliputi tiga tahap yaitu studi pendahuluan, desain produk, dan pengembangan produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang dikembangkan masing-masing memenuhi kriteria valid dengan kategori “baik”. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan praktis dengan hasil penilaian kepraktisan oleh guru pada kategori “baik”, kategori “sangat baik” berdasarkan respon siswa dan kategori “sangat baik” berdasarkan hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan efektif berdasarkan ketuntasan belajar siswa. Persentase siswa yang tuntas pada tes kemampuan komunikasi matematika mencapai 84,38% dan pada tes prestasi belajar mencapai 81,25%.Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, pembelajaran berbasis masalah, kemampuan komunikasi matematika, prestasi belajar Developing a Problem-Based Learning Instructional Kit Oriented to Junior High School of Mathematical Communication Skills and Learning Achievement AbstractThe research aims to produce a good quality problem-based learning mathematics instructional kit oriented to mathematical communication skills and learning achievement consisting of lesson plans, student worksheets, communication skill test, and learning achievement test. This study was a research and development. The procedure of this model consisted of three steps are define, design and develop. The result shows that the mathematics instructional kit is valid with a “good” category. Learning kit that has been developed was practically shown by results of practicality votes by teachers in category “good”, “very good” category based on student’s responses and “very good” category based on the observation of learning implementation. Learning kit that has been developed was effective based on student’s learning mastery. The percentage of students who achieved the mastery level in communication test is 84.38% and in learning achievement test is 81.25%.Keywords: instructional kits, problem-based learning, mathematical communication skills, learning achievement

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar materi bangun ruang sisi datar sebagai bagian dari persiapan calon guru sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan pendidikan (educational research and development) sehingga yang diharapkan adalah adanya produk berupa modul berisi materi bangun ruang sisi datar yang dapat digunakan sebagai pedoman untuk proses pembelajaran. Pengembangan produk dilakukan dengan cara menganalisis kebutuhan, mendesain pengembangan, memproduksi/ mengembangkan bahan ajar, melakukan evaluasi produk, dan melakukan uji coba produk akhir dalam skala kecil dan skala besar kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses produksi dan disebarluaskan. Penilaian produk bahan ajar Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar menunjukkan hasil yang positif. Hasil penilaian ahli materi dan ahli pembelajaran hasil pengembangan termasuk dalam kategori “sangat baik” yaitu 4,8 dan 4,3. Sedangkan hasil uji coba dalam skala kecil menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi kelayakan produk untuk dikembangkan sebesar 4,71. Adapun rerata nilai pretest adalah 77,5 dan rerata nilai posttest adalah 85,83. Adapun untuk uji coba produk dalam skala besar menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 47,72% berada dalam kategori cukup baik dan 25% berada dalam kategori baik dan 6,81% berada pada kategori sangat baik. Jadi pengembangan produk bahan ajar Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar perlu untuk diproduksi dan disebarluaskan untuk peningkatan mutu dan kualitas pendidikan.Kata Kunci: bahan ajar bangun ruang The Development of Three-Dimensional Geometry to Prepare for Prospective Elementary School Teacher AbstractThis research aims to develop learning materials, three-dimensional geometry to prepare for prospective primary school teachers. This research is the educational research and development. so that the product is expected to be the module containing the material three-dimensional geometry which can be used as a guide to the learning process. Product development is carried out by means of analyzing needs, designing development, producing/developing learning materials, evaluate products, and perform a test run of the final products in small scale and large scale then continued with the production process and disseminated. Product assessment materials of three-dimensional geometry show positive results. The results of the expert assessment of the material and expert learning outcomes development included in the category of "excellent" 4.8 and 4.3. While the results of a test on a small scale show that the frequency of the feasibility of the product to be developed of 4.71. As for the average value of the pretest is 77.5 and average values for the posttest is 85.83. the value test products in large scale show that as much as 47.72% are in a category is enough and 25% are in the category of good and 6.81% are on an excellent category. Product development learning materials three-dimensional geometry need to be produced and disseminated to quality improvement and quality education.Keywords: learning materials and Three-dimensional geometry

Abstract

This study aims to find out how high the level and trends of student misconceptions experienced by high school students in Indonesia. The subject of research that is a class XI student of Natural Science (IPA) SMA Negeri 1 Anjatan with the subject matter limit function. Forms of research used in this study is a qualitative research, with a strategy that is descriptive qualitative research. The data analysis focused on the results of the students' answers on the test essay subject matter limit function with the number of students by 16 (sixteen). Data collection techniques used are shaped test methods essay, interview method to students who have misconceptions, and methods of documentation of the test answers. Examination of the validity of the data using a triangulation technique that compares the data written test results with data from interviews. The results of this study can be described as follows; (1) The level of misconceptions experienced by students belonging to the category of low, amounting to 12.18%. However, students who do not understand the concept quite high at 40.38%, and the others are students who understand the concept that is equal to 47.44%. (2) The misconception most experienced students lie in subconcepts explain the meaning of limit function at one point through the calculation of values around that point, that is equal to 20.51%. The tendency misconceptions experienced by students is located on errors and operating concepts that misconceptions students that there should be no limit in the completion of the writing of the emblem and misconceptions about the limit students to conclude if the limit value of 0 is no limit to the value of the function.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran realistik dan saintifik terhadap prestasi belajar, kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan minat belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Sampel penelitian adalah tiga kelas yang dipilih secara acak dari enam kelas yang ada. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes prestasi belajar, tes kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan angket minat belajar. Untuk menguji keefektifan pendekatan pembelajaran realistik dan saintifik serta pembelajaran konvensional menggunakan uji t one sample. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran matematika realistik efektif terhadap prestasi belajar, kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan minat belajar; pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik efektif terhadap prestasi belajar dan minat belajar tetapi tidak efektif terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis; sedangkan pembelajaran konvensional tidak efektif terhadap prestasi belajar, kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan minat belajar. Pendekatan pembelajaran realistik dan saintifik memberikan berpengaruh yang lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap prestasi belajar, kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan minat belajar. Pendekatan pembelajaran realistik lebih efektif daripada pendekatan saintifik terhadap prestasi belajar kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan minat belajar.Kata Kunci: Pendekatan realistik, pendekatan saintifik, prestasi belajar, kemampuan penalaran matematis, minat belajar The Effect of Teaching Realistic and Scientific Mathematics Approach on Students Learning Achievement, Mathematical Reasoning Ability, and Interest AbstractThis study aims to describe the effect of realistic and scientific approach on student’s learning achievement, mathematical reasoning ability, and interest. This study is a quasi-experimental study using the pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. The research sample was randomly selected from six classes, three classes were elected. The instrument used in this study is the learning achievement test, a test of mathematical reasoning ability, and an interest-in-learning questionnaire. To test the effectiveness of teaching realistic and scientific mathematics approach, as well as conventional teaching using one sample t-test. The research findings indicate that the teaching realistic mathematics approach is effective on student’s learning achievement, mathematical reasoning ability, and interest; the teaching scientific approaches is effective on student’s learning achievement, and interest, but is not effective in mathematical reasoning ability; whereas conventional teaching is not effective on students learning achievement, mathematical reasoning ability, and interest. The teaching realistic and scientific mathematics approach has an effect and is more effective than conventional teaching on student’s learning achievement, mathematical reasoning ability, and interest. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan setting TPS dalam pendekatan discovery learning dan problem based learning terhadap prestasi belajar, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan kemampuan interpersonal siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment dengan pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Sampel penelitian dipilih secara acak dari delapan kelas yang ada, terpilih dua kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes prestasi belajar, tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan angket kemampuan interpersonal. Untuk menguji keefektifan setting TPS dalam pendekatan discovery learning dan problem-based learning data dianalisis menggunakan uji one sample t-test. Untuk menguji perbedaan keefektifan, data dianalisis menggunakan MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setting TPS dalam pendekatan discovery learning dan problem-based learning efektif terhadap prestasi belajar, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan kemampuan interpersonal siswa. Tidak terdapat perbedaan keefektifan setting TPS dalam pendekatan discovery learning dengan problem based learning ditinjau dari aspek prestasi belajar, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan kemampuan interpersonal siswa.Kata Kunci: setting TPS, pendekatan discovery learning, pendekatan problem-based learning, prestasi belajar, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, kemampuan interpersonal The Effectiveness of Setting Think Pair Share in Discovery Learning Approach and Problem-Based Learning in Circle of Junior High School Students AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of setting Think Pair Share (TPS) in the approach to discovery learning and problem-based learning in terms of student achievement, mathematical communication skills, and interpersonal skills of the student.  This study was a quasi-experimental study using the pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. The research population comprised all Year VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. The research sample was randomly selected from eight classes, two classes were elected. The instrument used in this study is the learning achievement test, a test of mathematical communication skills, and interpersonal skills student questionnaires. To test the effectiveness of setting Think Pair Share (TPS) in the approach to discovery learning and problem-based learning, the one sample t-test was carried out. Then, to investigate the difference in effectiveness between the setting Think Pair Share (TPS) in the approach to discovery learning and problem-based learning, the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) was carried out. The research findings indicate that the setting TPS discovery approach to learning and problem-based approach to learning (PBL) is effective in terms of learning achievement, mathematical communication skills, and interpersonal skills of the students. No difference in effectiveness between setting TPS discovery approach to learning and problem-based learning (PBL) in terms of learning achievement, mathematical communication skills, and interpersonal skills of the students.Keywords: TPS setting in discovery learning approach, in problem-based learning, academic achievement, mathematical communication skills, and interpersonal skills of the student

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan NHT-TGT dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman konsep materi matematika SMA dari mahasiswa Kelas 2C Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Islam Malang. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil studi pendahuluan yang kurang memuaskan. Skor motivasi mahasiswa tergolong dalam kriteria “sangat rendah” dengan skor 48,4. Hasil tes pemahaman konsep mahasiswa juga masih kurang memuaskan, hanya 22,6% mahasiswa “tuntas”, yaitu mahasiswa yang mendapatkan nilai Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dimana masing-masing siklus terdiri atas 4 pertemuan. Hasil dari siklus pertama menunjukkan persentase mahasiswa yang tuntas dalam pemahaman konsep mahasiswa meningkat menjadi 48,3%. Pada akhir siklus I, motivasi mahasiswa juga meningkat ke kategori “rendah” dengan skor 66. Selanjutnya, di siklus II motivasi kembali meningkat dan masuk kategori  “tinggi” dengan skor 84,8. Demikian juga dengan persentase mahasiswa yang tuntas dalam pemahaman konsep meningkat menjadi 90,3%. Jadi penerapan NHT-TGT terbukti dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan motivasi mahasiswa.Kata Kunci: Number Head Together (NHT), Team Games Tournament (TGT), motivasi, pemahaman konsep, materi matematika SMA Implementation of NHT-TGT Learning Model to Improve Motivation and Conceptual Understanding of Mathematics for Senior High SchoolAbstractThe study aims to describe the application of NHT-TGT to improve students of Class 2C Mathematics Education Program University of Islam Malang’s motivation and understanding of high school mathematics material concept. The study is motivated by the results of preliminary studies were less than satisfactory. Student motivation score belonging to the criteria of "very low" with a score of 48.4. Student conceptual understanding test results are still unsatisfactory, only 22.6% of the students "completes", that is student scores ≥60. The study is a classroom action research which performed in 2 cycles with each cycle consisting of 4 meetings. The results of the first cycle show the percentage of students who complete the understanding of the concept increased to 48.3%. At the end of the first cycle, the students’ motivation also increased to the category of "low" with a score of 66. Furthermore, in the second cycle motivation score increased and categorized of "high" with a score of 84.8. Likewise, the percentage of students who complete the understanding of the concept increased to 90.3%. So the application of NHT-TGT is proven to improve student understanding of concepts and motivation.Keywords: Number Head Together (NHT), Team Games Tournament (TGT), motivation, concept understanding

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: mendeskripsikan keefektifan pendekatan CTL setting NHT dan TGT; membandingkan keefektifan pendekatan CTL setting NHT dan pendekatan CTL setting TGT ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan sikap matematika siswa SMP kelas VII dalam belajar bangun datar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest non-equivalent comparison-group design. Untuk mengetahui keefektifan pendekatan CTL setting NHT dan TGT pada masing-masing variabel, digunakan uji one sample t-test. Selanjutnya, untuk membandingkan keefektifan pendekatan CTL setting NHT dan TGT, data dianalisis menggunakan uji T2 Hotteling’s. Jika terdapat perbedaan keefektifan, maka dilakukan uji lanjut t-univariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pembelajaran matematika menggunakan pendekatan CTL setting NHT dan TGT efektif ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan sikap matematika siswa, namun tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis; tidak terdapat perbedaan keefektifan antara pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan CTL setting NHT dan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan CTL setting TGT ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan sikap matematika siswa.  Kata Kunci: pendekatan CTL setting NHT, pendekatan CTL setting TGT, prestasi belajar, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, sikap matematika siswa The Comparison of the Effectiveness of CTL Approach of NHT Type and CTL Approach of TGT Type in Learning Planes AbstractThis research aims to: describe the effectiveness of teaching mathematics by using the CTL approach of NHT type and the CTL approach of TGT type; compare the effectiveness of the CTL approach of NHT type and CTL approach of TGT type in terms of mathematics learning achievement, mathematical communication ability, and mathematics attitude of 7th grade junior high school students in learning planes. This research is a quasi-experimental research with the pretest-posttest non-equivalent comparison-group design. To determine the effectiveness of the CTL approach of NHT type and CTL approach of TGT type on each variable, one sample t-test was used. Furthermore, to compare the effectiveness of the CTL approach of NHT type and CTL approach of TGT type, the data were analyzed using a multivariate test of T2 Hotteling’s. If there were differences in effectiveness, then further study of t-univariate was done to determine certain variables that contributed to the overall difference. The results showed that: the teaching of mathematics using the CTL approach of NHT type and using the CTL approach of TGT type are effective in terms of mathematics learning achievement and mathematics attitude, but is not effective in terms of mathematical communication ability; there is no difference between the effectiveness of teaching using the CTL approach of NHT type and teaching using the CTL approach of TGT type in terms of mathematics learning achievement, mathematical communication ability, and mathematics attitude.
