Abstract

Global Standard on Social Work Education and Suggestion to the Curriculum of Social Work Education in Indonesia.Global change and trends toward industrialization and privatization have encouraged transformation and social institutions. Therefore, this has been a growing need to reform curriculum for social work education in Indonesia, it was suggested that competency based social work education would be appropriated to the current social situation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Volunteer Empowerment to Improve Social Resilient.Empowering volunteers should be seen as a recognition to their role on developing communities improving their social performance after receiving training intervention, this article attempts to present research result from Lembang, a subdistrict Bandung. This study shows that the volunteers skills improvement has a positive impact on improving social resilient, through the acceleration of social change at the community level.

Child Rights and Family Welfare in the Judicial Context.In the process of social transformation from agricultural society to industrial society, meansand values have been changing that affectly family function. Modernization encouraged family members to engage outside home that has been decreasing the family care giving to children become more selected. Abstract

Children Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy: An Input for Practitioners.Many literatures show that there are no differences of background in term of socioeconomic of victims and perpetrators of sexual abuse in family and community. It's also give information that victim of sexual abuse is categorized as a "silent disease" because of difficulty on obtaining epidemiological data and research on sexual abuse issue is still neglected. However, the literatures showed that sexual abuse causing heavy post-traumatic syndrome and generating problems of social pathology, psychology, emotional, bouncing, physical, and educational in the long term to all victims of in school environment, family, social relation, and participation in community. Therefore, it's a growing need to plan and develop a policy for training and workshop for teachers and social workers to increase their awareness of the possibility of sexual abuse in the school and environment.

Abstract

The Role of Massmedia in Multiculture Education.Many people in Indonesia always ask that one culture is a one ethnic group, whereas oneethnic group could insist of many cultures. This condition cause of that many people living indifferent area, such as in city, periphery, country side, inside the forest, swamp area, beach, and so on. This also we always ask that culture as same as civilization, those definition and meaning are very different, culture is point to abstract value, and civilization is point to behavior, there are pattern for living, such as hunting and gathering, slash and burned cultivation, irrigation cultivation, industrial and modem industry. This article try to explain that how the people in plural society could living together as a nation, and how the mass media could roles as a red yam for uniting people in different culture, ethnic group and civilization.

Abstract

Social Welfare Problems and Social Work in Indonesia: Trends and Issues.The argument that social work is a human profession dealing with social problems is severalhundred years old. However, as social work in indonesia is still searching for its original identity., they discussion whether social work should focus on a narrow or broader scope of social problems has been a hotly debate, perhaps since the profession born in the country more than four decades ago. This paper takes the position that social workers should be able to respond to social problems. However, in order to have a clear demarcation of professional intervention, social workers in Indonesia need to focus their expertise on dealing with social problems in narrow sense, or in what this paper calls 'social welfare problems'. This paper than goes on to highlight the 'big four' problems, such as poverty and destitution, disability neglect, and inadequate housing and discuss the implication for social work education. By knowing the nature of social welfare problems to be addressed, it is argued that social workers competencies can be identified and curriculum contents for social work education can be developed.

The Anticipation of Social Conflict and its Resolution.Social problem usually is interpreted as a criminal problem, or as a common disturbing. In this article, social problem is a cultural lack, when people could not m!erpret the social phenomenon. And this article also explains how the social problem could come a social struggle. And how to detect the social problem through the culture in society.
